Your videos make us want to go check out Michigan. Would love to see more of the Great Lakes and the North Country Trail. Not the whole entire North Country Trail. Maybe just part of it. Lake Huron looks great - and we look forward to seeing more about the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and other destinations you visited. Thanks for taking us along to Straits State Park.
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is true rustic magnificence. Tahquamenon Falls, the Shipwreck Museum, and the Soo Locks are all great places to visit. On the west side of the UP we recommend Indian Lake State Park and the amazing crystal clear spring lake “Kitch-iti-kipi” in Palms Brook State Park. 🚀🦩
Thank you so much for the suggestions. We had wanted to visit Kitch iti Kipi but didn't have enough time. We hope to spend an entire summer in the UP in the future.
Lake Huron looks beautiful. The UP is definitely on our to do list. Missing those summer days right about now. Hope you guys are well and hope to cross paths this season. Safe travels.
I would say if you were staying in Mackinaw City, Wilderness State Park is the best. They have recently upgraded it to have full hookup sites. The Michigan DNR has a good website for all state parks in Michigan. Most of them you can actually look at campsite because they have pictures of them.
Mill Creek Campground in Mackinaw City is nice. But we love love love Wilderness State Park which is just west of Mackinaw City. You can watch some videos on our channel about it if you want to take a closer look We also really liked Straits State Park and think it's a wonderful home base for exploring the east side of the UP. We stayed in the loop closer to the water but backed up to the woods and had a very large, private spot. You're right that you need to choose your site wisely. 😁
@@LovingLifeHitchedUp There sure are! We've been working our way through all the Michigan's State Parks and the vast majority of them are ones we can't wait to visit again!!! Especially the ones along Lake Michigan and in the UP!
Many campgrounds around there have tight spaces and are crowded. It's the nature of the touristy area. If you prefer to be surrounded by crowds of people w/ small touristy shops then Mackinac city is a better choice . The upper loop at Straits is best suited for people who want a little more elbow room and is more flat. Plus it is a better place to be when it rains as the lower loop sites get increasingly soggy as you go down the hill.

When you visit the UP you will not be disappointed. We're already talking about the possibility of spending an entire summer in Michigan.

We can't wait to get up to the UP and added this one to our list! Thanks!
Definitely worth a long visit.
So pretty! This is a park we haven't visited yet! Love it - Michelle & Brian

We loved the UP way more than we ever expected. Thank you so much for watching. Safe travels to you too.
We loved our time in the UP. We stayed between Sault Ste Marie and St Ignace at an inexpensive city park. No frills, but we liked it.
We loved the UP. The weather was perfect while we were there.

I’ve done that 🤪 walk up a giant flight of stairs only to find out I could have driven up there 😂
Lol.... it was good cardio.
Wev stayed at the Mackinaw City KOA and thought it was a great base camp. Loved our time up there.
