Your last plant the Chinese Fan palm is my favorite. Here in Florida 9A do very well even if you get some nights in 20s like we did last winter. Such a beautiful shape
Wonderful video! You are the first Ytuber I've heard to have mentioned omeiana. Such a great plant. And those arums in the winter are such a welcome break from the winter dreariness.
Thanks Jeff!! Happy Wednesday!! Say 'hi' to the fur fam (and feathered, and shelled, and scaled, and hope im not forgetting anyone) those hydrangeas are fabulous 😍
Hi Jeff! This was another great video about cold hardy plants. There are so many pretty ones that I'd like to try, but would need to make sure they would survive in pots outside all winter because I have no place to put them inside. I'll have to google some. Your hibiscus are beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together and share with us!
I listed everything from the first one in the description too. Figure nobodies going to remember what was in a video from 2 years ago. I didn't. Lol. Had to look it up.
It took me a very long…….. time to watch this video, it seems everyone HAD to talk to me. I think I need to print out a do not disturb sign and hang it around my neck when watching my favorite UA-cam channels. 🤣🌸💚🙃
I have a passion flower vine that is popping up all over my garden. Lucky that I like them. I’m going to be moving some of them over to my tropical room, they can climb all over the huge tree stump that’s slowly decaying. 🌸💚🙃
Some of my favourites: Trumpet Vine (Yellow and Red) varieties. Peach Trees can look exotic with the leaves and fruit. Indian Bean Tree and Paulownia tomentosa tree with trumpet flowers.
I've never personally had to deal with them before. Rosemary oil(diluted) is supposed to be taste bad and might be a deterrent, but not a long term solution. I'm sorry I can't help more.
Gunnera is the one that I think is the most tropical looking of all of the hardy plants, those huge leaves aren't common in temperate climates. My favorite Hosta are and always will be the large blues. I am surprised that missing from the list were the hardy Hibiscus (Rose of Sharon/H. syriacus, H. coccineus, H. moscheutos). If you have a pond, there are hardy water lilies and American lotus. I'd also say a tree form Wisteria gives a tropical feel, with the long panicles in spring followed by the pinnate foliage in summer.
Love wisteria trees! Totally agree about the gunnera. Too bad they're total wimps with hot summers and freezing cold winters. I talked about those hibiscus in the first part, that's why they weren't in this one.
Do you disassemble your containers at the end of the growing season? I have some somewhat large ones that have Heliconia planted in it. I bought a bunch of Heliconia and only three made it through last winter inside. I saw that the ones that survived were in larger containers vs tiny. When I pulled out my large containers this year, I tried to transplant them and they keeled over and died, and I'm a fairly good transplanter. So I'm afraid to take the one that I still have out of the container. It makes me wish that I had kept it in a pot and put the pot in the container.
Some of them I take apart and repot to bring inside, others are faux planted like you mentioned with plants just sitting in the larger decorative pots. Makes it so much easier to move them in!
We have a severe thunderstorm issued for our area ,so I went out to water earlier 😂 we are getting a tiny bit of rain but definitely not what we need. Anything helps though! 🌸💚🙃
😄 never happening with a list video! Takes like 20 to 30 hours to edit these things. Omg I can't imagine if it were 2 hours! Id only get out one video a month.

They are such lovely palms, especially down south where they don't die back to the ground each winter. Beautiful!
Love the ideas for hardy tropical looking plants.
Thanks Carl! Hope you've been doing well 😊
Great video Jeff, thank you!🌸💚🙃
Always a pleasure 😊
Thank you again, be safe, stay healthy and we’ll see you next time. 🌸💚🙃
Thanks Judy! Hope you're doing well 😊
It’s like you knew I needed another video from you😅🌱
😄 hope you're having a great day!

I love the hardy impatiens! They need more love!
Love the blue hydrangea! 🌸💚🙃
Me too! I wouldn't normally prune those off but the limbs went limp and were laying on the ground, so figured I'd chop them and encourage new growth.
Hi Jeff!!! Happy Wednesday!!!
Thank you! Hope you're doing well! Happy Wednesday!
Hi Jeff 👋 Thank you for the great info! Take care!
Thank you!
Sabal minors are the most cold hardest palm that can just take anything.. sun, shade, hot, cold, dry, wet, all soils ❤
Yup! They're the best! Talked a bit about them in the first part. Love the sabal minors!
Thanks Jeff!! Happy Wednesday!! Say 'hi' to the fur fam (and feathered, and shelled, and scaled, and hope im not forgetting anyone) those hydrangeas are fabulous 😍
Thank you! Hope you've been having a nice week!
@@TropicalPlantParty definitely! Have an awesome weekend!!

Japanese rice paper plant and the empress tree both have huge leaves. Great video ❤
Awesome plants!
Excellent info…thanks so much
Thank you!
I’m going to have to start looking for some of these plants for my new tropical room I’m starting. 🌸💚🙃
I listed everything from the first one in the description too. Figure nobodies going to remember what was in a video from 2 years ago. I didn't. Lol. Had to look it up.
@@TropicalPlantParty Great! My memory is about 10 seconds long. Now that I saved your video I’ll have both to reference! 🌸💚🙃
thanks! that was some great info 👍🏽
Always fun talking plants!
I really love rainbows end hosta. 🌸💚🙃
It's one of my favorites this year. So colorful!
It took me a very long…….. time to watch this video, it seems everyone HAD to talk to me. I think I need to print out a do not disturb sign and hang it around my neck when watching my favorite UA-cam channels. 🤣🌸💚🙃
Oh I have those days, seems to be right when I'm ready to sit down and relax that all of the sudden everyone needs something.
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Kimberly!

I'd love to have them popping up! I just have morning glory weeds that I pull seemingly non stop.

Those are excellent plants! Some are on my list for the tree version of this video that I'm working on.
You Rock!🤙🏼
I’m going to save this video for references 🙂🌸💚🙃
Maybe some of them will show up at the nurseries for ya in the fall or spring.
@@TropicalPlantPartyhopefully but the nurseries around here aren’t very adventurous. They tend to have the same old, same old every year. 🌸💚🙃
Banana madness 🍌 😊
Love all the info! Do you have any suggestions to get rid of grasshoppers. They are completely shredding everything i planted!
I've never personally had to deal with them before. Rosemary oil(diluted) is supposed to be taste bad and might be a deterrent, but not a long term solution. I'm sorry I can't help more.
@@TropicalPlantParty thank you so much! I'll try anything at this point. I appreciate it greaty!

Agree 💯 with gunnera. Have tried twice to grow it and failed. Have you had success with it?

Some plants were already on my list, but I added 4 more 😄 I don't want any more tender plants, don't have room left
21:44 Is that butterfly ginger lily? If so, what do you do with them in the winter?
We have a severe thunderstorm issued for our area ,so I went out to water earlier 😂 we are getting a tiny bit of rain but definitely not what we need. Anything helps though! 🌸💚🙃
Hope everything was alright! We've had a few dangerous ones over the last couple of weeks. Been an odd summer.
@@TropicalPlantParty Just a few drops. 🌸💚🙃
Root stimulating fertilizer? 🌸💚🙃
Yup! They sell them at most garden centers.
I heard pampas grasses are considered invasive in warmer climates, maybe that's why they aren't readily available anymore.
Oh well that would make sense!
I wouldn’t mind if the video was two hours long 😂🌸💚🙃
😄 never happening with a list video! Takes like 20 to 30 hours to edit these things. Omg I can't imagine if it were 2 hours! Id only get out one video a month.
@@TropicalPlantParty well then I definitely don’t want a two hour long video if I’d only get one per month! 🌸💚🙃
Get to the point please
