Bait runners are great for coastal sea trout fishing. There great for being able to change lures quickly as you just flip the switch to slack the line instead of twisting the front drag to give yourself a bit of slack.

Is this a saltwater rated reel? I just got one and plan to use it surf fishing. Do you know if it is sealed or if the bearings are stainless? Thanks!

Now is the 5000 the same size as the 4000 just with a different rotor? Bc they weigh the same and have all the same specs besides line capacity and inches per turn

Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the 4000. The 5000 is the lightest and most compact 5000 sized reel that I've found, which is why I wanted it!

@@richard.chrappa don't know the specifics of the 4000 but would assume it's smaller than the 5000 or has less of a max drag

How are you liking the reel? I have 200.00 and 300.00 Daiwa reels and baitcasters but for bass and they just are butter smooth. I want to get two of these and pair them with two whisker seeker carp and cat rods. I have the FMJ rod buts it over kill for carp I think
