Catching GIANT Flathead Catfish in June! We land a MONSTER!
Great video! My wife and I built a house on 40 acres and plan to use the property for hunting. We have turkeys on the property and I want to start trapping raccoons to keep the population in check. How many dog proof traps do you recommend to get started? Thanks
Now fur the inside so it's nice and warm 😊 just make an identical cap but inside out without the tail on it, you should have enough with one coon if it's a good size, belly fur preferably. Then you can use leather adhesive to attach to the inside. If you can get ahold of some artic fox, they make amazing hats for fishing and hunting when it's cold out. But I would add ear flaps if I really wanted warmth
Great info bud! Snares are my favorite.

Are yall in texas
Nope

Please cut the music
@@Palmetto705 Nah, we'll keep it 😉. Thanks for viewing!
Nice video, what kind of tool do i need to use to get the chain in the ground?
I generally use a rebar stake to secure the trap 👍
Cool 😎

Bro why can’t I catch a single one
@@monitorcrazy9639 🤷
Thanks very much! I'll try this soon to get rid of the raccoon that has been eating my precious grapes many times!

As someone who fishes with rod and reel. I gotta say it’s extremely frustrating pulling up to a spot and seeing bank poles everywhere. The fact you can have that many hooks in the water and not even be there is a joke in my opinion. I’m all for people feeding there families but bank poles are for people who can’t fish. Wish DNR wasn’t a joke and would ban them.
@@ryanharrod1155 Thanks for taking the time to convey your opinion. I disagree, in general, with your thoughts. Catching large catfish on bank poles is not "easy" and not just anyone is making that happen. It takes a good amount of watercraft skills to find good locations (not relying on fish finders and live scopes to fish for us), hours of bait fishing to get proper live bait to entice the trophy sized fish, and closely following water levels/weather patterns. Additionally, it is natural to look at things through your own personal lens based upon your State and location, but where this fishing took place, only 5 bank poles per person are allowed. Lastly, we are strong believers in catch and release. As are many of the folks who are proficient and skilled with bank poles in our area, which is why you see videos like this with tremendous fish. Thanks for watching the video and good luck with your fishing!
@@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTV I agree with some of the stuff you’re saying but people can have 50 hooks per person in my state. This isn’t a big river either. 50 hooks per person is an absolute joke. I think you should have to be on the water if you have bank poles too.
Some people rather see people die then an otter, unbelievable.
🤷
Why don't yall show the pole in action...
There is plenty of action in this video!
Alot of wobble in the tip, wondering if this will slow line
The tip does have some flex 👍
Nice flatties
Hi Guys. Just saw your channel, like what I see. Where are you guys? I'm misplaced from Kansas, and we don't have catfish up here in Idaho. I'll keep watching. Thanks
Most of our fishing occurs in Iowa
Every fish you caught should have been swimming in tartar sauce.
Thanks for watching!
Great video but why not just tie the lines to a good tree limb or root.
Not legal in our State. Additionally, limb lines limit you to a location that has the right tree... Bank poles go where the perfect location is. More versatile and has flex 👍👍
Do you ever trim the fins off on larger baits?
No, we have not tried that and have had great success with keeping baitfish how they are. However, we have heard of people doing that! 🤷♂️
New sub here, the create in the back. I have one I made up for kayak fishing, many years ago, and it sits in the rear of the boat just like you have yours, I have made a cover for it, so it has a lid and I can fit 5 of my jugs back there along with the coke can sinkers in it and it keeps the back of the boat organized. I dont ordinarily use the rear deck at all, so it works great back there and like yours it has a 3 rod stager-holder as well. Thanks for sharing and keep up the fun videos, Dale
Thanks Dale!
NOT ROCKET FROM GOTG
Not Rocket! 😜
I'm on the river every day and y'all make me laugh at your weight guessing!!!
Yet you watch... 🤔 Thanks!
@@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTV hell yeah enjoy the show! Just think you would be blown away with the actual weight
The last one good one might have been 20
Make sure to watch all of our videos to let us know what you think on our fish weights!
Y'all really need scales that 20 was probably 10 to 12
But what would you have to complain about then??
@@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTV I hear you! Like watching old bass shows when I was a kid!!!! Everything was a 10 pounder!
Flatty's on the river I fish are considered invasive so I keep them all plus I make my living off catfish!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Most fitting use of the sigma music I've seen yet
👍
I WANNA COME ANS PLAY LOL 👀
Thanks for watching!
The boys and I with BE outdoors will be using your video to help us eliminate some trash pandas! Thank you!
Good luck 👍
So cute
🥇👍👍
Cat food mixed with grape jelly Raccoons love it
👍
Great fish also great to see people smart enough to let the big uns live good job
Thanks!
Hey what reel size would you recommend me for a 9-10 feet bigwater ?
Something pretty good sized. Probably 6000-8000 but a lot of it boils down to what you're fishing for and personal preference
what river is this?
An interior river in the United States 😉
Wait don’t giant otters travel in packs?
Thanks for watching
I know you dispatch your coons, but what if I just want to haul them away (say, 3 miles). How do I safely move the coon into a cage?
Got this rod a month ago or so. Waiting on the season to try it here in Wisconsin.
Good luck Daniel!
I use McDonalds chicken nuggets for bait, never fails.
Adds as a snack if you get hungry 😁
they work great. Been using them for about 20 yrs. One important suggestion is to put the bait in the trap before setting it, to avoid prematurely setting off the trap while installing the bait after the trigger is set.
Good tip!! Thanks for watching!
Nice set up
Thank you!
Gona eat that too??? Yessssssshhhh
This was not eaten! 😉
Why not use a net?
This has always proven to be pretty effective for us in ensuring that we land the fish. Generally there are only 2 of us on the boat. One is running the boat the other is fighting the fish. Trying to grab the line and use a net could potentially lead to a tangled mess and a lost fish 👍
black locust tree. Used to burn that in my fireplace.
👌👍
That's a tree that dosent want to be climbed
👍👍
You to crack me up
We try to have fun!
Throw it back in!
I did! 👍
Im considering buying this rod. Im not sure if 10, 11 or 12 foot is best.
All personal preference/how it will be used. I've only ever used the 8 ft medium and 10 ft med heavy models. Thanks for watching!
@@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTV Your Welcome, thanks for making the video.
I have a 12 ft med heavy spinning. And I love it so much I’m buying a 12ft heavy conventional. If you’re going to do a lot of casting or do jetty fishing. Go a little shorter like 10. They are heavy but tough rods. I surf fish so I gotta get it out there.
What u putting in there
Mackerel jack and fish oil
Good to see you all jacked up. That's a beauty of a common
It has been quite a rollercoaster so I was happy to catch that one!
Nicely done! You will enjoy that otter for many years!
Thanks!
