reloading revolvers in games is never shown well. it's very difficult to reload with anything resembling speed unless all shots have been fired. the ejection rod doesn't care if the round is spent or not and you can't just upturn the gun and hold the good rounds in expecting spent rounds to fall out of the cylinders. hot magnum loads cause the brass to expand a little which gets them stuck in the chambers. using the ejection rod is the only way to get them out unless you want to pry them out with your fingernails. and that is not fast. Personally, I would consider a single action ("Old West") revolver and a magnum revolver to be in two different categories. Although they fulfill the same intended role, the technology represents two entirely different eras and contexts. The single action represents the 19th Century and the frontier, while the magnum revolver represents the 20th Century and police as much as it represents hunters.

It's a pointless round that was apparently "designed for all big game in north carolina" which is bs. It hurts your hands like hell when you shoot, so it's not a regular gun that you'll like using in the range. Its rounds are premium and expensive unless you hand-load. Get a goddamn .44 instead. At the very least the rounds aren't THAT expensive.
@@LordFakeGodz it's 650$ now when it got released it was 850$ which you couldn't even buy in the pistol round , it can still kill armoured enemies with 3 body shots

When I get the .357 in Half-Life, there's a moment of me going "good, now I can do some real damage" before remembering that the only things I'm good at headshotting are bullsquids and still targets. And maybe occasionally an HECU grunt. But usually I'm already using a weapon I'm better at using when I run into them.
Something to note as well, the kinetic energy normally used in pushing the slide in an auto loader is instead used in the bullet, because it isn't an autoloader. this, in theory, gives it a bit more kick. furthermore, you don't have to clean up any brass, meaning you can repurpose the material or leave a cleaner kill.

there are a number of people who would say that the reliability of a revolver is less than it's slide action counterparts. someone once told me that the stigma of reliability comes from, or at least partially from, not being used as often as a slide action revolver and not seeing as many rounds going through it. at the gun range a slide action weapon is more likely to have more rounds fired through it then a revolver. they can still Jam, I've had it happen to me before several times. modern designs have gone far past Simply Having a hammer striking a primer. a good example of this would be the Chiappa Rhino. not referring to its 6 o'clock position Barrel, more so its design in which the hammer initiates a strike fire pin Integrity placed within the gun
the hammer striking a firing pin with a trigger operated transfer bar is the only way to make a drop-safe and hammer-fall safe revolver. having the pin on the hammer is more reliable but if you drop the gun the inertia from landing can potentially cause the hammer to bounce and strike the primer and that's a bad thing. also there was an issue with pulling back the hammer and accidentally dropping it before it locked back causing the gun to fire unintentionally. some hammer fired guns have safety notches to catch the hammer but a transfer bar serves the same purpose. this was such an issue with single action army pistols that it became pretty standard practice to only load 5 chambers and keep an empty chamber indexed to prevent shooting themseves in the leg.

The MGS clip should've been the MGS 3 battle between Big Boss and Ocelot on the cave entrance where he's twirling the pistols.
I agree & I'm surprised there weren't more clips from MGS3.
i'm sure it's ultimately a mass appeal decision.
A MGS game with ocelot was used, no point in getting so fussy.
The gun looked as elegant and balanced as a piece of metal can be while being juggled.
"Six bullets. More than enough to kill anything that moves." That's why he used TTS.
RevanBladeZ Yeah I was even surprised that he used this quote since he mentioned before that he never played an MGS game.
Anyway, since he used that quote, he had to use either the original MGS or TTS and I'd rather see TTS.

There are single-action and double-action revolvers chambered for both regular and magnum loads. "Magnum" is, for the most part, just a brand name.

My all time favorite magnum revolver will always be the Sequoia from Fallout New Vegas, a perfect mix of power and style.
Technically, it's 45-70 gov't, thus not an actual magnum, but a revolver nonetheless.
Same here. If the Ranger Sequoia can’t be smuggled by Sneak, I’ll love the Lucky Single-Action Army to the GRAVES. Mysterious Magnum’s good too.. but it’ll stay on a shelf.

Valve should buff it, it's such a cool gun but so painfully slow in CS:GO
The best thing about revolvers is their simplicity. literally, there are fewer parts and no slide that could break from higher calibers

I like how in Black Mesa, the .357 is the only gun that you can aim down sights on (not counting scopes)

Semi-autos are resistant to torture (constant use) need to be maintained even without use
Revolvers are resistant to neglect
(Lack of use) don’t need to be maintained without use

I figured that, while a round can still fail to fire, you can just as easily rotate the barrel and fire the next shot
@@lavaracer1 well, not exactly the barrel but yes. While a gun with slide can jam in most diffrent ways, Revolver work very very good.

“6 bullets, more than enough to kill anything that moves. Now I’ll show you why they call me ‘Revolver’.”

All I want with my revolvers is that it's able to have more recoil then a shotgun, but can kill any enemy with a single shot.
