    I like your home made flockulator, enjoyed the video.
    BTW- just to let you know, you don’t have to worry about a “shock” from this device...for a number of reasons....basically it’s VERY low voltage and the static field created is much less than you get when taking off a sweater(jumper) in a dry environment. Not being a “know it all” just that I’m an Electrical Engineer and also a Fellow GI Joe collector and just wanted to ease anyone’s fears in using this device. Generally, you don’t need a very powerful voltage to create this static field in this case. It’s can even be done passively as you’ve shown in another video. Enjoyed the video Mate.

    Your face at the end there Damian..... Priceless!
    Ps. I do hope you're going to use better quality glue in future though mate

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  6 років тому +5

      The Gaming Toy Boy nothing wrong with this pva craft glue mate, drys clear and won't yellow over time, plus easier to remove. Whatever they used originally was a nightmare to get rid of

    • @TheToyBoy1978
      @TheToyBoy1978 6 років тому +1

      Fair enough Damian, if you're happy with that then thats fine mate.
      I personally prefer to have mine done so its permanent like the original glue used.

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  6 років тому +3

      The Gaming Toy Boy that's fine also, although when you send your heads away I believe the glue ain't glue on the reflock it's acrylic paint. I think the original glue used on these seemed to be some kind of solvent super glue.

      Damian Jones
      Well the guy i use definitely uses glue because ive seen evidence of excess glue on the necks of some of them, i only ever used to get them reflocked to sell, i only have 1 in my collection but i'm sending some heads off next week to be done and some of those will be going into my collection because (besides getting lucky in job lots), A nice example of an EE Action Man head is becoming quite expensive!

      @damianjones7554  6 років тому +3

      The Gaming Toy Boy I've had the odd reflock sent out to me over the years, I don't really mind just as long as it's been done well. Really enjoy some of the custom coloured heads I've come across too like bright ginger beard or grey.

    Congratulations Damian that really works.
    BTW what flock length do you use and do you know what are the matching colors of the originals?

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  6 років тому

      João Faustino thanks mate. Well as you can see here in the video I used a black flock of 1mm as it was all I could find. The original Tommy Gunn flock was more of a mixture of black and dark brown flock fibres. I think the black flock works very well though. I'll be trying out some other methods of flocking I have in mind, stay tuned for that. Thanks for watching. 😉

    Looks like a million bucks mate, outstanding job. Do they still sell GI Joes in your country? Or are all kids there into video war games like they are here in the States ?

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  2 роки тому +1

      I think all the kids have moved on to video games now, although some kids, essentially the younger ones enjoy action figures still.

      It's home made, all you need to do is make a device that creates a static field.

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  6 років тому +2

      TheSkullReviews Hello, I was going to build the divice myself by following links easily found on youtube but after pricing up the parts I needed it worked out cheaper by half price to buy one already assembled. Basically to put one together would have cost around £30, however I found one listed on ebay under static grass applicator for £14. So if you search for static grass applicator on ebay you will most probably find the device or similar devices. As they are handmade and sold by different sellers I won't leave a link as I don't advertise on here and take no responsibility for people getting shocked that don't wear gloves.

    How long does it take to dry? and do you have to keep it plugged in to head while drying? thanks

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  3 місяці тому

      No need to keep it plugged in, just while doing the flocking. Takes a good hour to dry

    • @og_steiney
      @og_steiney 4 роки тому

      any glue that will bond to the plastic, yes. Vinyl heads won't take glue, that's the reason they make glue caps from vinyl ;)

    Where did you get your flocculator?

    • @damianjones7554
      @damianjones7554  4 роки тому

      Well, you've got two choices, you can ether build one or take a look on ebay to see if you can find one ready made up. I saw one on there a few months ago under the heading of static model grass aplicator. Failing that if you check out my other video on flocking there is another highly effective and dirt cheap way of going about it. Thanks for watching and let me know how you get on. 😉👍
