Watching more Jimvitational and CI has made me much more appreciative of BO3 and I really wish SPL would at least try it out once. BO1 can potentially be more exciting, but I value competitiveness more and seeing Violet River not be able to do much because of a bad mu sucks, especially because this would have been a great battle if it was a bit more even. I understand tournament scheduling is a pain, but BO3 reduceso much variance (and SPL is a tournament of skill first anw).

Why is Tyranitar clicking Fire Blast into zapdos such a common manoeuvre? Are they trying to hit steel types that come in on a predicted rock move?
Correct! Metagross is a common switch-in for lead zap so sniping that while still doing ok damage to other steels and still being able to bluff grass into Pert is great for early momentum.
Every tournament should be bo3 tbh
