You even make taking things apart fun. You saved alot of stuff. That crow will showup one day. Can't wait for the buildup video to start. I guess it did the canyon frame work began. See you next time. GOD BLESS🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
Dave, I'm fairly sure you've seen my "Twin Peaks" layout. When I started building it, I considered that someday it might have to be moved. Other than some scenery, it's in sections that are Bolted together.
As a wargammer I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times: You railroad men have forgotten more about making terrain then we'll ever remember
Hi Dave, I found your channel about a month ago and I've watched all the videos on your channel. I wanted to tell you as a carpenter that there is no problem with your woodwork and you shouldn't put yourself down about it because what you do is perfect for your needs. There is no need to spend more money or make things any more complicated than they need to be. I salute you sir.
Keep using drywall screws. They're the most economical choice, and the course thread works the best for wood to wood and foam connection. Looking forward to the build.
I’ll definitely be following this as I’m hoping it gives me the motivation & kick in the butt needed to actually START my Disney diorama with various gauge Disney Trains. I like how you’ve put thought into the construction making it easy for deconstruction too. I doubt I’ll achieve such forethought as a complete novice so here’s hoping these videos give me ideas. Will these be going into any particular “playlist” so that I can follow the new construction process easily?
I'm in the same phase right now! I have a double deck layout and the upper level has to disappear. I hope to upgrade the lower level. So breaking up is looking forward to the future ! That makes it fun. However, due to old age....I hope......
There is nothing wrong with using drywall screws on the layout, I'm using them on mine. I do pre-drill and countersink as I'm using plywood for my benchwork and I like a nice flush fitting screw
Too bad you can't get some pictures of the buildings on rollers. 😉 When I was a young model railroaded and really cheap by need. I used a string of white Christmas lights to light my buildings. When you get the Boot Hill gate and fence rebuilt, I bet that raven will come home. 😉
I see no problem with drywall screws. My whole bed frame is held together with drywall screws. In the end, a screw is a screw. Except maybe machine screws, which are just this side of being bolts anyway.
another great video, can't wait to see more of the building.... I would love to build a grave yard diorama but not sure how I should go along to make the stones. I know of a place I can buy some but they are costly as well... would you have any suggestions?
It's really hard to watch the destruction of such a creative bit of work. But looking forward to watching what you have planned next .......................>
Hi Dave. I'd suggest using an impact driver instead of an electric drill for driving in any kind of screw. They are smaller and lighter than the drill, use the same battery's, and require less physical effort. I only use drywall screws for my projects. Since we both live in AZ where it is so dry, the screws never rust.
Dave, you use whatever woodscrews you like! I use drywall screws and it's great to simply unscrew a component when I need to. I have the relics of something I glued together. Breaking it up was basically terminal to the structure. I'm absolutely enjoying your mode of railway construction and the product is fantastic. Good 'ealth, John Warner, Australia
Boy Dave, just gotta say again, I think you would be amazed at what an oscillating saw would do for controlled demolition. I think many of those scenes could be gently removed in their entirety. It acts almost like a cast saw, not a jigsaw or circular saw.
I can't wait to see the reconstruction. Don't give into the hatters, my whole layout a 15 x 17 around the room is built with drywall screws and its solid, it won't come apart unless I take it apart.
A battery powered oscillating saw would really help you with some of this removal. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what to do with one but now it’s one of my favorite tools.
There's nothing wrong with using drywall screws. I use them all the time. I use the gold colored deck screws for framing and thicker lumber, but drywall screws are great for smaller projects. They have a different thread, and they cut into the wood easier without the need for a pilot hole.
Sure looks like your having fun!
Amazing to watch 👍👍
I liked how you were considerate of your town folk and removed the privy last. 🙂
The first thing needed and last thing to go.😁
It's just more nit picking for anyone to concern themselves about what screws you used. They're not holding up any great structure.
You even make taking things apart fun. You saved alot of stuff. That crow will showup one day. Can't wait for the buildup video to start. I guess it did the canyon frame work began. See you next time.
GOD BLESS🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
You are so John-Allen-Esque. Taking the original vision and creating more awesomeness! I always look forward to your passion for the art!

I use nothing but sheetrock screws for everything I build. I am excited to see this next evolution!
Drywall screws are perfectly fine for these kind of projects.
OH, I can't watch the whole thing! It's like seeing behind the curtain to the pulleys and levers the Wizard of Oz controls. 😮
As a wargammer I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times:
You railroad men have forgotten more about making terrain then we'll ever remember
Man this sucks to watch, but I know it's in service of something bigger and better :3 Still sad to see the old layout go though ^-^
It's all building from here - no more destruction!

Dave, what does drywall screws attach to... WOOD! Keep using your drywall screws

It is like watching a train wreck...so to speak...I want to turn away but just can't help myself.😟
I see no problem with drywall screws. My whole bed frame is held together with drywall screws. In the end, a screw is a screw. Except maybe machine screws, which are just this side of being bolts anyway.
Dave Get new bits to stop rounding those screws 😂😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊keep your videos coming
My entire 24 x 34 O3r layout is sheet rock screws. Work just fine and they were free. Dad had boxes of them in his shop when he passed. Thanks
The second time in my life to see the Eighth Wonder Of The World! 😂
Now here's a Project 2025 that I think everyone should look forward to and not be horrified by ;)
FWIW, I'd call those risers "hangers" instead.
I suggest referring to the downward risers as Sinkers. Seems reasonable.

I printed my own.
Real modelers use drywall screws for everything :)
It's really hard to watch the destruction of such a creative bit of work. But looking forward to watching what you have planned next .......................>
Congratulations, Dave! Looking forward to following along with the process
What is wrong with using Dry Wall Screws?
Looking forward to the new build 👍🏼

Haha, maybe they are droppers, nice work. Cheers Peter from downunder
The great drought of 24'
Fun as usual Dave, thank you
I look forward to each new video. Thanks for sharing!
I can't wait to see the reconstruction. Don't give into the hatters, my whole layout a 15 x 17 around the room is built with drywall screws and its solid, it won't come apart unless I take it apart.
I have no patience for hatters.
Dry wall screws are great for holding frames together.
Dave, Where have you bought your Bench Pads?
Mark, those are from Fiskers. I found them on Amazon and I like them better than the X-acto ones since they are tow sided.
Drywall screws ftw, aka "duct tape screws."
Nicely done!
Always happy to see a new video.
Risers/Droppers. It's all relative...
I’m really looking forward to seeing this progress and I’m also excited to see what you get up to when you get distracted.
The back side of water!!😂. Switzer Falls? Named for Dr Falls?🤣
A Jungle Cruise creative boat operator quote I believe.
Great start, can't wait to see the rest.
Dave, I like your style!
A battery powered oscillating saw would really help you with some of this removal. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what to do with one but now it’s one of my favorite tools.
On my list
THANK YOU!
