Thanks for another video Rich. Hope you find a home for it. And I for one would enjoy seeing a night time video. Your scenery always takes me back to my hiking trips up in the Sierra Mountains when I was a kid and a bit as an adult. Those days and the mountains are a long way off now.

Thanks Jack!! I am going to try to get a night video put together in the next couple of weeks. Just not sure how about the quality of a night shoot. I will try to do some tests first!!
      Thanks again!!

Rich ~ Your modeling has inspired me ever since I saw your short piece in the Gazette 25 or so years ago. I still reread it it every so often. I bought your models when you first sold them as kits and have also bought your "Hydrocal only" offerings. Your castings are still among the very best I've ever seen. Keep up the great work. ~Brian Kistenmacher

This is the first of your videos I've seen, and I've been a modeling enthusiast for years. Strange. Your modeling work is excellent. A story around every corner. I completely agree with your feelings about "flat". Everything looks so much better when there are grades present. The world ain't flat.

Thanks Jim!! After 30 years on the Payless its time to move on. I am thinking of dabbling a bit it Military Miniatures 1/35th scale. Being an Infantryman in Vietnam I'm thinking on building a small diorama with a Huey Helicopter and a few grunts on the ground. See if I can build something realistic looking?? Thanks again! Rich

So glad to see some new vids. In awe everytime I see your Jedi like skills creating GREAT scenery. Our philosophies are almost carbon copies. Too many modelers oversaturate track until their layouts lose all credibility. Flat scenery! Even in Kansas there are undulations and creek bottoms to the "flat scenery". Another great modeler I know is a master at scenery, but his entire layout is built on plywood. Hills and creek bottoms, but no RR grades anywhere to be found.😳 I also hit 75 and sold my prize winning On3 module.😟 No room and not enough time.🤔There should be someplace to preserve models of your caliber.

When I see these mine and mine town layouts the one question I always have is about the trees. Every old and new mines I see and I love watching mine exploration videos. But around all of these mines you can't find a tree for hundreds of yards. Because they cut all the timber out to shore up the mine workings and the mills.

The building of the streets in Mount Bullion actually represents the kind of downtowns I've seen in Colorado cities that started as mining towns. Many of the streets are not level and many of the business blocks undulate with the terrain. Of course much of my memories are from my teens and twenties visiting Colorado either with my grandparents in my teens or going to Colorado and Wyoming with the Kansas Army National Guard to train. In 1989 the unit I was with trained at Pinion Canyon Manuever Site and spent its off time in Trinidad, CO. for a 36 hour leave. I walked Trinidad trailing our Company's XO by orders of our CO. I got my workout walking up and down all those streets. On some of the blocks in the Downtown you had to actually climb up steps in the sidewalks to navigate the blocks.

Very nice layout. You switch backs where the Davenport is sitting , inspired me to build my G scale point to point with switch backs, not so easy in 9ft of space. Could you show us more train movement videos, shot them at eye level according to scale? So we could be involved in the scene.

Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed !! The majority of my figures are 1:43rd scale from the U.K. a company called S & D models/Phoenix Figures. They have the best detail of all the figures in my opinion. You have to paint them but if you don't mind tedious painting they are worth the work!! Thanks again!!

I have a kit business that I do on eBay, not sure if you have ever seen any of the kits? I think I would really start carving more Hydrocal kits as I really do enjoy research and design old gold rush era structures!! The Payless has reached the end of the line for me. Maybe build a couple of military Minature diorama's "Vietnam era"
