Coolant Draining & Thermostat / Regulator Replacement on CAT 299D

In this video (PART 1) I drain the coolant and replace the coolant Regulator / Thermostat.
I have been trying to trace down an overheating issue since I bought the machine, and this is a great place to start. Next video I am going to do a full coolant flush just to make sure I clean the system thoroughly.
While doing the regulator replacement, I also replaced the small coolant tube coming out of the regulator housing. It had some wear marks from the pulley rubbing against it. This was only about $10 in parts, and is easy to do while the coolant is drained.
Don’t make the same mistakes I did; remember your gasket sealer goo & to put the Regulator back in BEFORE you seal up the regulator housing!
