As a teacher, I’ve had already 2 full lockdowns because of threats/active shooter concerns. Neither ended up being an actual shooting, but can definitely relate to the level of terror it causes, and it’s hard when you’re a teacher and have to keep it together for your students. Glad you’re safe.
Even though it was a false alarm, it was a blessing you were so close to the exit! Never know what it could have been.

I'm so glad you're safe! My best friend works at the mall and was working when there was an active shooter. They were able to get the shooter, but my friend was shaken up about it for a while. She said she heard screams and people running and her coworkers didn't know what to do. It is really one of those things you never thought will happen to you

Wow that must've been scary. In June 2012, when I was on my way home from a buddhist meeting I was gonna go to Eaton Centre * shopping mall * (in downtown Toronto) for a quick lunch in the food court. As I was headed in that direction with public transportation something in me told me to just go home. Next thing I know I hear that there was a shooting in the food court.....I think many got hurt and two people even died. I guess I was protected somehow. It's definitely something I'll never forget. Am glad that you and your family are okay.

I deleted my Instagram last January and I’ve never felt more free. I was comparing myself because of looks and even just how I was doing with my school and jobs. Something about social media is just not good for me personally, and it’s really helped me reduce anxiety and live in the moment.

That's so scary Michelle, I'm glad it was a false alarm and you were able to get out with your family! In high school we had a lockdown because they found bullets on the floor and even though there was no active shooter those 4 hours spent in my chemistry classroom wondering what the heck was going on will stick with me and it's so scary just the thought of there being a danger close by. that is one crazy scary story. At least in the end it wasn't a real active shooter situation but must have been very scary in the moment.
