my favorite thing about the holiday season is obviously being with the family part, but also being at church on christmas eve service is one of the most amazing things ever just something so amazing about the church during the christmas season 🥰🥰

I’ve struggled with horrible cystic acne for years and completely empathize with how you feel 💕 earlier this year I got a food sensitivity blood test done and since cutting out my trigger foods my skin had completely cleared (it has also really helped healing pimple “stains”) I also don’t get bloated after eating anymore. I know you mentioned gluten and dairy but I found it really helpful to know specifically what foods and proteins trigger inflammation in my body. You don’t have to cut them out completely but even reducing how often you eat them is really helpful! Wishing you the best of luck with your skin journey 😊
My favorite thing is the joy & happiness from decorated trees, Christmas lights, Christmas music, Christmas Eve candlelight service, the slowness of Christmas morning. All of it!!!!! 🎄
My absolute favorite thing during the holidays is going on an annual ice skating/christmas light seeing date with my boyfriend! so fun and memorable! ☃️🎄
You mention this all the time in your recent videos, but probably what I appreciate most is the cozy, warm feeling that the holiday season brings... between lighting the tree, the music, and the inherent kindness that seems to come out through friends, family, and strangers. I try to remember to slow down and appreciate the small things like Christmas lights and a silly Christmas movie.

I have always struggled with acne and what I adore about christmas is going to my grandma's house with my dog and just eating cookies and don't having to watch what I eat because my skin would freak out I just don't care for christmas hahaha and also spending time all together, playing games and just laughing so much! I have many favorite parts of the holiday season. This year I am trying to do a daily Advent devotional to prepare my heart for Christmas. Outside of that, I love decorating with my family. I also really enjoy being home and cozy. Its always the best being able to spend each day being grateful and hopeful!

Ahh SO relatable with acne. I am 22, was on acutane in high school, and here I am with acne literally all over my face. I just got off hormonal bc so I’m sure that’s part of the reason why but I wish it would just go away. So frustrating 🤪 BUT, I am so encouraged to see that it’s not just me who struggles with it. Thankful for your vids, Michelle! 🤍

I hear you about not just wanting more meds - BUT I had acne that really bothered me until I was 25 and went on spironolactone, which is a medicine specifically for hormonal acne. It was life changing - I had tried it all - cheap skin care, expensive skin care, facials, washing my pillow case, washing my face a ton, not washing my face, on and on, but that really worked for me. I hope you can find a derm who listens to you and doesn't prescribe things you don't want but will work with you to find a good solution.
Hey! I study nutrition and I just wanted to let you know there isn't evidence for gluten causing acne and limited evidence of dairy in some individuals so please don't feel that is something you need to cut out! Refined carbohydrates and sugar can have an effect on acne however that is more about glycemic load and more about moderation rather than cutting out completely ❤️
I feel you with the acne struggle! I have had hormonal acne on my T zone since 6th grade and now I’m 21. I do everything too - quality, natural ingredients, lots of sleep, water, clean clothes and linens, and clean food. I don’t know what else to do at this point! It’s so frustrating, but know that you’re not alone

Hi Michelle!! I struggled with some intense acne a couple years ago and Curology saved my skin!! It’s customized just for you depending on what kind of acne you have and where you get it. Definitely worth checking out!! You apply it to your face at night like a moisturizer!

Michelle I feel your pain with the skin issues. In high school, I had perfect clear skin but the minute I turned 24 I got more acne then I have ever had 😪 it is so depressing to deal with sometimes but I try to stay positive about it but I agree that it's very hard to deal with and thinking that I'll have it forever 🙁

I have struggled on and off for years with my skin! Recently came off BC and stopped getting my cycle so my doctor ran a hormone panel and turns out I have PCOS which causes acne. It was an ah ha moment. Most likely it's nothing you are doing. Sometimes our hormones just stink :( I would definitely have a full hormonal panel done if you haven't already. It's easier to know the root cause and correct it that way then getting the runaround with topical treatments which only treat, not stop the cause. Good luck

@@michellereedg It's better to do with endocrinologist. They not only check your female hormones, but also glucose, thyroid hormones and some others. For me taking meds for thyroid hormonal problems really helped with acne. Also look into low glycemic index diet. Substitiuting glucose (and typical sugar) with other sweeteners helps with both skin, diabetics risk and regulating energy levels (including sleep problems).
Beyond the Pill by Dr. Jolene Brighten is about Birth Control but basically tells you so much about your hormones. I highly suggest!
I also went on acutane in high school and that didn’t work for me either. Once I got my PCOS and hormones under control with my gynecologist’s help my skin cleared up completely.
@@michellereedg PCOS was the cause of my acne too! Spirinolactone medication (I know you mentioned you weren’t interested in meds but just in case) CURED my hormonal acne!
I did a water test because my skin was very similar and found out the water was too hard for my skin so just got a filter placed on it and now it’s wonderful. But I also try to get a facial every other month or every two months just to get a deep cleanse of my skin and limit make up!

Hey Michelle! I struggled with cheek acne until I was 27. When I turned 28 it just stopped cold Turkey. I rmemeber being so insecure about it and just realized it's not one cream or product...sometimes it's just a matter of time. I barely use anything on my skin now. I wash it with cetaphil once a day and use a standard moisturizer once a day and that's it! Skin really does start from the inside out. I know it sucks to hear this but just be patient. Acne will go away, sometimes it just takes time.

I’ve struggled with my skin my whole life too! I went on medication when I was 13. The only time I was filled satisfied with my skin was when I moved to Korea and started using Korean skincare. Western skincare can actually be so bad for your skin.
I love being able to be with my family during the holiday season. We all live across the US but we try to all come home to Michigan to celebrate Christmas together. Two cousins have been born during the last couple months so it’ll be nice to meet new family members ☺️! Also love the idea of 2 uploads a week - your longer content is my favorite :)

Hi girl! I have struggled for years with my skin too,. I think you said you used IT cosmetics CC, it looks gorgeous but I did find it made my skin worse! I now realized I can’t use chemical sunscreens and only physical sunscreen. LOVE EltaMD sunscreen, I also must incorporate a silicylic acid face wash too with my cerave. The Inky list makes a great affordable one! Love your all your videos and podcasts GF, and New Morning Mercies is one of my favs! Have an amazing day

Michelle!! I've followed you for so long and LOVE your videos so much. I've struggled with acne on and off since I was 13 (I'm 22 now), and I've tried SO MANY THINGS with no fixing it. It's terrible! Recently though (the past year), my skin is the best its ever been (despite it being the most stressful year of my life) because I switched to Differin gel and CeraVe facewash with the very occasional moisturizer when I need it (like in the winter). I know retinoids can be scary especially with the purging period, but there is nothing that has worked so long and consistently for me like Differin has. Theres tons of direction videos on youtube for how to use it well and cope with the purging period (mine lasted for about 4 weeks). My friends have gotten on it too and it has helped SO MUCH. Just thought it might help you :) the purging period sucks, but it is SO WORTH IT once you get past it. Acne sucks so much, but I'm praying you're able to find what works for you and have peace through the process!!
