I've been masters 6 times and haven't looked at a single build order. I just literally get upgrades, and mass shit and wing it. Build orders stressed me out and made it feel like a job learning. So I just YOLO a strat and think about what went wrong and why and adjust

I saw so many of my old habits in this gold match, playing as Protoss specifically. Back when SC2 came out, I watched a lot of pro play and picked up many of their micro techniques and using them myself, but didn't figure out the macro part very well until later on.
Played several games myself recently. Got back into Gold myself. Thanks for making me want to play StarCraft2 again.

Feels pretty normal for Gold, honestly. Lots of players micro decently well but forget everything else.

Shields is actually ideal for blink stalkers since you're going to be taking more shield damage than hull damage. You also maybe want to get 1 shields early if you're doing Zarchon. Like 1 armor, 1 shields, 2 armor, 3 armor. Shields is also something you can get for air.
Shields on zealot archon depends on what you're facing, imo. If you're vs primarily marine or zergling or zealot/immortal, shields are fine, if you're vs mech or roaches or robo-heavy comps then I'd just skip it. There's really only a few Protoss units that get more out of shield upgrades than armor, and a few more where shield upgrades compete with armor upgrades at all.
One real bonus that shields over armor upgrades is that it helps your structures, too. That plus making Battery Overcharge (and batteries in general) stronger makes shield upgrades much better defensively.
No you never want to get +1 Shields early 😂lol. There's are many reasons no one ever does that.
Not first, or rushed. Just sooner than usual. Also, I'm a Masters player, I know what I'm talking about. Shields is never rushed before ground weapons and armor, but you can get it if you have a forge while doing air. And you might get +1 shields after +1 ground armor when doing Zarchon.@@hivetech4903
