Pete, your better half is aging backwards. This is such a cool concept for a video/series, I'm buying whatever she has the best luck with for those days where I'm sharpening and really need a win 😅
"im going to sit over there and watch" - shadows her the entire time explaining what to do lol, love it, I would do the same. Just watching that would be torture to me 😂
It’s been really cool to see/ hear about your family growth and your marriage on UA-cam. My wife rolls her eyes at me when I fawn over your videos, but she indulges my hobbies and stuff all the same. Seeing you guys sharpen knives together is great; although, nothing beats the video of her roasting your knife hobby while you drink wine. Good times
I love how you just say "no problem" when your wife makes small errors. When i started sharpening i was too judgemental to my self. And you talk same way i would talk to someone who has never sharpenned😊😊 great work💪🏼 and your wife seems lovley too. Hope you guys make more videos like these.
My wife won’t sharpen, in fact sometimes she complains that the knives are too sharp after I sharpen them. So now I just keep them sharp all the time. So lovely your wife was willing to put such effort into sharpening and being a part of your video.
22:15 Actually mate, seeing you dull the edge on brickie was very pleasing to me! Cliff Stamp, pioneer of low grit sharpening and suggestor of Maxamet as a blade steel (even if that was an elaborate prank) would be proud
The South Park song 😂 I love your content. You and T and great together. The printer video is still my favorite. Holding hands while shifting to run it over again. ❤
Volunteering to do a nerdy sharpening video to get you out of your ceative slump is epic!! :-) You are lucky to have a life companion of such caliber. And so is she?? :-) Lovely video.
They make another version of this called “The guided sharpening system” that has been my go-to to recommend to friends and family with no experience sharpening knives for years. The stone tilting to follow the blade edge really is training wheels for freehand sharpening, it makes getting a good edge with little skill extremely easy. With upgrade kit I would say that it’s an excellent one and done sharpening system for most people.
How about a vid where you each sharpen the same or identical knife/s on the Ken Onion blade grinding attachment, followed by a rope cutting comparison? Interesting to see how well a newbie can do versus an experienced sharpener. Thanks.
4:50 When the wife talks about 20/25 uneven edge, I instantly start thinking about my recently purchased AD20.5 that came with a clearly uneven edge and how annoying it feels. and 20min later that darn AD showed up in a cameo and was tortured on a brick, I lol so hard in my brain. It's a magical day.
New Cedric & Ada Gear host in training! Mrs. Pete does WAY BETTER than me on a flat stone. And I'm the old man you referred to. This was a fun video. THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU!
I personally think that for anyone starting out completely new it’s best to learn ambidextrously. Hand sharpening is generally so awkward and foreign for anyone new anyways therefore there’s no muscle memory or familiarity. So learning to sharpen with both hands right off the bat is no more painful than learning to do it with a single hand. Plus in my opinion it’s the superior way to sharpen since you are creating each bevel in the same fashion with the same technique. Great video as well as another Pete and wife video in the books! Nothing will top the classic “Survival”/camping videos but this was cool to see her progress so quickly in her understanding and skill. Also I absolutely loved the South Park song for the montages! It really tied it all together, it was a hilarious and perfect choice!
Pete, the angle on the accusharp is 22.5° per side, at least for the generic version that does a bit of everything (knives, machetes, axes, etc...). For what it is worth, I've found I get better results with an Accusharp if I put it down on a table and with light pressure pull the knife through it instead of doing it the way you did in the video. Normally with the sorts of soft steels I use I can usually get the knife sharp enough to shave hair/cleanly slice newspaper.
Great video! At times I wish my wife would be interested in my hobby instead of just making fun of me lol. On another note, I didn’t bother to scroll through all the comments to see if it was already said, but for novices worksharp shows keeping the lock unlocked on the bench sharpener to allow it to pivot to maintain the angle through the belly and tip and locked for straight blades.
very fun video i hope we have another episode with as much free hand as possible and its also interesting to hear what your wofe has to say like questions or opinions etc
Well. I played a bit of the video for my wife and said, Hey.... Pete's wife can do it.... maybe you can too. I got an eye roll. Hey, it's something, im one step closer to convincing her 😂 Ps. You two seem perfect for each other. I can tell you guys have fun with life.
That was a fun bit of information. Thanks you two… i think you will soon be hand sharpening convex edges on Japanese waterstones. Or not. Whatever. Great vid. 🫡
Cedric on that WORKSHARP BENCH SHARPENER if I'm sharpening my Spyderco YOJUMBO what grits should I start out with and end with. It's not all that dull.
I'm not going to lie I cringed initially but it was nice she was up to the challenge in giving it a try. She did actually perform a good job which I'm sure she would only refine and become better if she continues to sharpen she will have some really sharp edges, although truthfully she doesn't seem that interested. Either which way great job for her coming on camera and attempting for viewers as a complete beginner. I want to further state I began sharpening before my teens although I really had no clue what I was doing and just had a working edge, and then I began investing more and going to fixed guided systems and getting insane results with the wicked edge but I always hated the setup and prep time and began going back to freehand as my knowledge has increased and now I have hair popping / whittling edges. I think the real key to sharpening is understanding the behind the process of what your doing, detecting a burr, flipping a burr, and then maintaining your angle and arm motion are the best keys to success.
I've never thought to try to teach someone else to use my sharpening system pretty much everyone in my family just hands me their knives to sharpen for them lol.

8:00 almost calling Teresa a good girl and then remembering you're making a youtube video 🤣
BEING REAL, YOU AND WIFEY LOOK RELATED.BOTH GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE BUT SHE COULD PASS AS YOUR SISTER.FACT
GREAT VID AS ALWAYS
This is the sweetest, cutest, most endearing knife related video I have ever seen.
Holy shit are these not the best people ever?!?! Wholesome x10.
Oh, all Australians are this nice. 😉
@@gregtomamichel973 Then it's time for me to consider relocating.

"Watching my knives get fucked!" - Pete 2024
She has amazing patience and is open-minded to try what her husband likes.
A good husband teaches his chores to his wife, genius
The visual quality of this channel got 100x better!
"im going to sit over there and watch" - shadows her the entire time explaining what to do lol, love it, I would do the same. Just watching that would be torture to me 😂
She is such a trooper to learn from her husband with minimal grief.
Wow cudos to the wife. For first time trying to sharpen she did extremely well.
Lol at 24:10 " I'm pretty sure i could f%$% some sh!t up with this" 😅 she's one of us!

"I can see how this would be a bit boring"
Pete dying on the inside 😢
Props to the lovely Mrs. Pete for having the courage to try 😊
My wife won’t sharpen, in fact sometimes she complains that the knives are too sharp after I sharpen them. So now I just keep them sharp all the time. So lovely your wife was willing to put such effort into sharpening and being a part of your video.
Two Beautifull, wonderfull people. Thank you!

It's cool that your wife shows some interest in your hobby. She seemed to get the hang of the worksharp fairly quickly. 👍
The South Park song 😂 I love your content. You and T and great together. The printer video is still my favorite. Holding hands while shifting to run it over again. ❤

Pete, came back to this video a couple hours after watching it to complain....that song is stuck in my head! :) Cheers!
The scenes where you were 'ghosting' [lol] the mrs with the music playing really had some 80s sitcom vibes!
"Well, you need a hobby". Your wife is one in a million!
My wife watched this whole episode with me. Brilliant ideal.
Reminds me of when I purchased my daughter her Nintendo! Hovering and "gimme, let me show you how"!
I just asked my wife to watch this with me and she really enjoyed it too. Bloody brilliant you two!

😢 they "retired" it. I liked a lot too

Dollars per cut winner:
literally any kitchen knife > Mora's > literally anything else
I absolutely never watch sharpening videos from anyone, but you guys are just awesome. Great video 😁👌
PS can't wait for the next one👍
Great video! You are so patient with each other. Beautiful!
Looks like Pete let the kitchen knives go a bit too long, and got Tree to “help” him sharpen them up. Great video, Pete!
I had a KME, and gave it to my son. I couldn't figure out how to use it. All I use is my Sharpmaker, and a nice strop. Great video!
So cool to see Nathan Drake & Lara Croft together in a game! ❤

She's a good sport and you're very patient. I needed a good laugh. It really illustrates the point about sharpeners.
You two are both aging the wrong direction. Looking great!
Im gonna have competition soon! I wont be the only professional female sharpener anymore!!! You go girl!!
wow this was a fun one thanks
Love this! Always cool to involve your other half to get an understanding, and share in your hobby!
Nawww….the ‘Ghost’ movie moments! It’s like Swayze and Moore all over again!
You made one of your best videos in your creative slump, sir!
I personally think that for anyone starting out completely new it’s best to learn ambidextrously. Yay! Love when the two of you do videos together!
Great concept for a video series. Happy to see you be more active again.
Great video Pete! Worksharp makes the best sharpeners for easy use.
I got a smith's tri hone for 11$ at lowes originally 50$ and that thing kicks ass for what I paid
So cool seeing Mrs. Pete again & great concept for a video !
A couple that sharpens together stays together ❤
Can you do a video on how to talk to pretty girls? Clearly you’ve mastered that and I need to know the secrets!
Pete, the angle on the accusharp is 22.5° per side, at least for the generic version that does a bit of everything (knives, machetes, axes, etc...). I’m excited that you could get your wife to even try sharpening. Mine absolutely couldn’t care less.
Great video! At times I wish my wife would be interested in my hobby instead of just making fun of me lol.

You can set it to pivot like the instructional video .. best video yet .. 🤣
The musical interlude and montage was hilarious 😂
very fun video i hope we have another episode with as much free hand as possible and its also interesting to hear what your wofe has to say like questions or opinions etc
Nice to see you together again
Thanks for the video! Your wife is really cool, I really enjoy videos that feature both of you!
God bless your handler, she's so patient and accepting of your weird obsessions.
I adore you two.
dollars per cut is an AMAZING idea!!
It was s hot day in the shed. 😊
Man made a series out of it.
Well. I played a bit of the video for my wife and said, Hey.... Pete's wife can do it.... maybe you can too. I got an eye roll. Hey, it's something, im one step closer to convincing her 😂

Great video!
Aw sweet love to see Mr. and Mrs.Knife
So funny to watch Pete debating which of his "children" to sacrifice!!
Also...
"It's kind of hard from this angle" - Pete 2024 (referring to his "knife", riggghht)
I see your wife is an Miyazaki fan. She's got good taste. I recognized her tat from Howl's Moving Castle.
I will be in the market for a good lawn mower soon. I would love to see you do a full review of your Honda mower.
Damn! In seconds she looks like a pro! And she doesn't even need to know how to sharpen a knife because she can cut with a dull one!
Blink twice if he is holding you against your will.
That was a fun bit of information. Thanks you two… i think you will soon be hand sharpening convex edges on Japanese waterstones. Or not. Whatever. Great vid. 🫡
I may have to give this a try one day. Have a KME and I love it but would be nice to be a start basic bench stone sharpening
Knife Sharpening the Movie. A Romantic Comedy.
Fantastic video idea
Cedric on that WORKSHARP BENCH SHARPENER if I'm sharpening my Spyderco YOJUMBO what grits should I start out with and end with. It's not all that dull.
Great video, you two are awesome!!!
You both look great!
Great job!
That was a great video.😊
gonna be the perfect couple...youll be out killing zombies and she can be home resharpening the blades!!
I'm not going to lie I cringed initially but it was nice she was up to the challenge in giving it a try. This video gives us hope boys, one day we will find our knife honey too
Great 1st effort Tree 👍
Why I love You guys so much?! Its more than a knife hobby. This sharp tool actually connects more people than it cuts things! Think about it!

Pete: Knife Whisper
Yeeea , beautiful wife, nice couple nad sharp knifes!
Off to a shaky start there, threatening to ruin each other's knife collection.
Great and very cute video
