This is an excellent video showcasing the mechanism. Now I can be 100% sure I don't want this seat because of how small that tab is. I'm uncomfortable with the thought of thousands of lbs of force being put on that TINY spot, even though the seat passed the mandatory testing. It's a hard nope from me
There is a second pair of interlocking steel plates at the top of the car seat for forward-facing mode, shown in our other video with a zoom-in on the lock indicators that help parents be aware if the seat has not been locked for use with a child: ua-cam.com/video/q6aCOeCpk8M/v-deo.html . Manufacturers do dozens or hundreds of crash tests, not only for compliance to federal standards, but also above and beyond those standards. While this mechanism appears to be robust, we do rely upon compliance testing in regard to safety. Since it is a newer model, we do not have enough time or experience to comment on the reliability of the mechanism. Like any rear-facing only infant seat, having a detachable car seat adds a point of possible misuse (or failure). Caregivers must make sure the seat is locked into place as required by the manual for proper use. The tradeoff for the detachable section is the added convenience of a baby carrier to go from car to stroller to home, or, in this case of the Revolve 360, the super-easy installation and full rotation to switch modes without re-installation.
I had a hunch they didn’t have it locked into position. They do claim they did, but they can claim anything. Something far more concerning is the multiple posts from folks who have found the harness straps fraying under the cover.
I forgot to highlight the large indicator on the base on each side that turns from red to green when the seat is locked for use with a child. It's conceivable that the locking mechanism could break if someone used great force to rotate it without using the release lever, or from being dropped, or from wear after a long time of use, but that would seem to be easily observed and a warranty issue.

1000s ?? That's not realistic
Thank you. How do you adjust the straps? Can you do a video?

So what happens if it’s locked in the wrong place trying to put it back in
