Some design choices from the Graco I liked more but overall the evenflo seems so much safer (I literally could never get the Graco safely installed and neither could a CPST!) I’m glad I got the evenflo. I was really nervous I was going to be getting another seat I hated.

I love your review a lot. But the part that concerns me about the slim is if my kid is going to be comfortable and that part you did not show in your review. I mean my baby is 6 months now but this car seat suppose to last years; were all tall, she's going to be tall. but what is she is falls on the heavier size (chubby), is she going to feel squeezed as she grows??? Can you please do an update on how your baby fits on it? Cause since the beginning based on space saving the slim looked as a good choice, but the kids comfort and that it really last years until they need a booster is the most important part for me. What do you think about comfort as the child grows and for chubby kids?
My son isn’t exactly “chubby” but he’s “husky” I think is the term- like a solid cinder block 😂 he weighs almost 40 lbs and will be 4 this coming January. I can do an update for sure, my car with that seat is currently in the shop for maintenance but as soon as I get it back I’ll do a mini video and combine it with the “how to remove the cover” video I already filmed. Anyway - no complaints from my son on comfort at all but I’m happy to show some video of spacing he has 🙌🏼

Ohhh I looked at the Cayenne before I got my G550 and the backs seats are similarly tiny 😅 the best part is when they fall asleep you can tie them back rear facing. Mine will say “spin me so I can sleep” 😂
How wide is the slim compared to the original? You said the base is 16” but didn’t say how wide the seat it self is Also how dose the 360 work if installed next to another seat
The only dimensions given from evenflo on width is the base. When I had them side by side the original flares out at the top (think upside down triangle) and the slim is more straight (think rectangular) but that’s just eyeballing, there is a difference I just can’t say exactly what it is. I also don’t know how it works with another chair beside it, I would think a low profile booster might work but I’ve not had it next to another seat before.
Dying @ these edits. What was the car that you said the full sized one was OK in and which car did you have where it was damaging the door? Btw, putting the base in the middle seems counter productive, as the whole idea of the rotation is to make it easy to get the kid in and out. If they are in the middle, that just adds more time to that process.
I had a Land Rover LR4 and it fit great, just got a Mercedes G550 and it was damaging the door. Yes the middle seat just isn’t worth using with this seat for sure. Thank you so much for watching!
@@AmberUnraveled Do you think it's possible to determine the fit by just taking a tape measurer to the seat and seeing how much space I have in the seating area? I believe the vid said the base for the regular version was 19" in diameter.
@@CuriousAndCuriouser1865 I just double checked dimensions of the regular seat and the website says 19.8 x 25.9 x 21.0 in. I think that is a good start but just be aware the regular seat is a bit of an upside down triangle so it flares a bit further at the top. The slim is more streamlined all the way and does not flare out as much. Hope that helps
This was very helpful. I have the original and I notice when I recline my toddler in rear facing, I have to adjust the drivers/passengers seat forward which can be a little uncomfortable. I plan on buying another for the grandparents but unsure if the slim will do the same. will it make a difference between the original and slim when it comes to reclining the seat? Or is that about the same?
Since the base is shorter by 3 inches do you see that the seat it self is less wide? My baby is on the higher end of the percentage charts and I don't want to buy the slim knowing its for smaller kids.
Mine jiggled too! I was concerned so I reinstalled the original to see if it also jiggled and it did too but somehow felt less jiggly. I’m used to it now but it did feel a bit loose, I think it’s just how the newer rotating mechanism is though, no issues with licking it being secure
Just got the slim. Is there a way to remove the bottom seat cover? I can't figure it out. No videos show how to do it. Kids are messy. I need to be able to clean it!
Good review but the major difference between the two aside from the size is the length in which you can use both seats. The slim only goes up to 65 lbs whereas the original goes up to 120 lbs booster seat. That’s a huge difference at this price point in my opinion. You’re going to get a lot more use out of the original as your child grows.

If that fits in your car fine then the extend will as well. I just looked up the width of the extend and it’s 19.8 so you should be good to go! You are going to love it, it’s sooooo much easier
Torn between the graco or this one! The only thing I’ve read negative on a LOT of reviews is the crotch strap being tight and too small. Do you have that issue?
Im looking into these videos right now because i bought a 2 door jeep thinking im single and dont have any kids why not, and now both of those srent true lol need to upgrade to bigger seat but dont want to have to try and get rid of the vehicle and find another so desperately trying to find seats that may make climbing in there a bit easier and i think the slim may just make it do able just enough. Anyone happen to have any similar scenarios?
My new car is small suv Mercedes G550 - we put the slim in the middle and I can access from between the front seats really easy - infant seat will likely be easiest option for you until they are a toddler like mine and can crawl into the seat themselves ❤️ good luck & congratulations!
I’ve seen that the original is able to be used for 10 years. But I can’t find anything saying that for the slim. Do you know if the slim also transitions to be for older kids?
@@karinamarie9378 yes but that is only because the original becomes a "booster seat"; by that point your kid will anyways probably able to seat without it.
@@AmberUnraveled I Believe in another review I read its 2 inches more narrow at the hips. I drive a 23 honda crv and in afraid to go with the extended due to its bulkier size. But also wondering how tight it would feel for the kiddo once they grow more
@@manny1524 oh interesting, I didn’t think the actual seat was slimmer. My son is 3 1/2 and he’s pretty sizable and no complaints honestly (38” tall and 36lbs)

We were going back and forth between which of these 2 to buy, we decided against the slim because it doesn’t offer a high back booster. Where the regular one does.
The difference between original and slim is that the slim DOES NOT become a booster; so the slim is good up to 65 ponds kid. the original and extend do become a booster, but understand that this is insignificant because by 65 pounds your kid will be ok to seat without a booster anyways.

I saw the graco one on the market recently but the evenflo is just really put together nice - the 2 piece approach is what sold me 👌🏼

the biggest difference you did not mention is the slim does not convert to a HBB and the original does. Thats a huge difference for some people.

Just installed mine and the base is rock solid but even in the locked position the chair jiggles quite a bit. In every video nobody jiggles the seat…

No it doesn’t - the inside seems the same to me, it’s the shell that seems less bulky

You do not remove the base from the seat - both stay in the car
