    I’m a beginning nail tech and I was trying to figure out why my gel wasn’t touching side to side until you mentioned using a tip that was slightly bigger then your actual nail.. makes sense! And I found that it was way easier when using the clips. The nail come out way better lol clips are lifeee!

    You make it look so easy. I use this and it takes me 2hrs to have decent looking nails... and even with all that time, some nails end up being thicker than others... Not to mention that you need to be careful with the liquid, because if the brush is too wet, the gel is not gonna work properly. 🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @BreannaBaozi
      @BreannaBaozi 5 років тому +110

      thicker nails is actually better. The nails that she did actually looked TOO thin. You need that strength so that the tip just doesn't break off. A little bit of a thicker nail is better for structure and strength

    • @peachcampanella
      @peachcampanella 5 років тому +37

      I started off with clear tips instead of just going for dual forms straight up
      It's better to have thicker nails as long as you build a good apex and you don't make it too thick around the cuticle

      @hannahpotato3722 5 років тому +62

      Also don't flood the sidewalls with the polygel, in fact stay away from skin. Build on the apex and you will have a stronger nail.

    • @strawsberrycow4367
      @strawsberrycow4367 3 роки тому

      Yes, you can, although I would not recommend, dipping powder creates an another layer on top of the poly gel nails so it will make it thicker now thicker means there will be more risks of falling if faster so to sum that up yes, if you want it for that moment and not want it to last more than 2~3 weeks, it works

    I would love to try polygel, however I feel it won’t be strong enough. I don’t do heavy duty stuff nor do I recklessly forget I have fake nails on, but from the past experience of thin hard gel, I believe polygel just wouldn’t do.
    Have you tried polygel and what are your thoughts on my concerns?

      pinkpam it’s actually very durable. I’m rough with my hands and they stay on just as long as acrylics. Also depends on which brand you use. I filmed a vid using MODELONES poly gel if you’re interested ua-cam.com/video/5eEuxC3p59I/v-deo.html 🙂

    Can you refill poly gel or do you have to do a brand new set every time? I have only done acrylic nails.

    Also a tip for anyone seeing this, don't touch the gel to your skin :) It can easily develop into an irreversible allergic reaction if you aren't careful.

      @@sandrarilee6741 that allergy can get developed over time, if it happened there is no cure but to stop applying gel polish.

    If there’s no primer and you don’t prep the natural nail what keeps it from not popping off?

    • @cutepolish
      @cutepolish  5 років тому +77

      Yes, the natural nails are already prepped in this video. Just do a light buffing + a non-acid primer.

    I've always struggled with Dual Forms personally. I can never get the right nail size for my nails, and my own natural nail is too curved for the forms to adhere the gel properly. Any tips on how to avoid bubbles or any bare spots with Dual Forms? I have the Makartt dual forms if that helps

      Less slip gel, go to paper forms or tips n build nail. Takes practice but better for nails that are unique like ours

    They actually make nail forms that you don't pop off after curing them,you just file down the tip to the shape and length that you want. You can make some really cool nail art inside of the form too with different acrylic or gel colors. They're really cool!
