Thank you for this sermon. Sometimes I forget how to keep hope in my heart. My husband of nearly 54 years died this past August and I miss him terribly. This sermon reminds me that I DO have hope no matter how sad I am right now. Some day I will be in Heaven, meet Jesus face to face and see Jimmie again! Thank you so very much for your encouragement. I most definitely agree with you that I accept so much of Timothy Keller's preaching except for his overemphasis on Calvinism. Have you by chance looked into N.T. Wright? He speaks more about the broader picture although he doesn't get into the applications as much as Timothy Keller. Would love to hear your thoughts further on all this as well.

So great to hear you've listened to N.T. Wright as he shares a message very similar to Timothy Keller. Firstly, he explains how people in Western culture have increasingly interpreted Christianity as only about dirctions and blueprint on how to get to Heaven. Secondly, he explains how the early Christians and all interpretations of the Bible are about God restoring this creation rather than eliminating it and bringing us all to a Heaven. Thirdly, the Restoration narrative God has speaks of how everything will be made right instead of God just choosing to save believers and end it there. Blessings to you for staying updated on all this. Where are you from btw and preaching in might I ask?

No nonsense, no loitering........just straight to the point. Love the way this man delivers the truth and the content of his messages.
That could be for a couple of reasons. One could be that in Jesuses time the first son in the family had all of the authority, and power that the father did. With that in mind and knowing we are called his sons (there is a transition of Romans 8:17 that says if sons then heirs.... other translations say children) I believe that it a translation thing. Greek and Hebrew doesn’t translate to English well in some cases. In this instance I believe it’s more of a descriptive thing rather than a gender. He’s not forgetting, discarding, or ignoring daughters he is telling us all, male and female alike we are his sons.
Take a look at the “NET” Bible it has a lot of clarification throughout it to help explain. For instance It will say for the word son used in the particular verse and the context of that particular verse that the use of the word son was meant as in general child or children. Hope this helped. I think there is a free version of the “NET” Bible on line if you want to check it out before buying one. Oh and don’t take my word for anything I said above. Go double check what I said against the Bible to make sure for yourself.
Our hope is eternal and spiritual with a God who is Spirit, not this world, not this carnal body, not this corrupt world, our hope is eternal life forever with God where He is...but we now have Him in us, and we are a new creature now, and we are born again now, and we are at rest in Him now, and will be forever.

I'm 'Sehnsucht' for my childhood home, and family that have long passed.
It’s a powerful word.
You would actually say that you ‘have’ Sehnsucht, rather ‘I am Sehnsucht. It’s a state of being, like having love or having sadness..

The Christian theme Jesus preached was not just about a God being there to take us to Heaven but a message which recognized the fallen nature of the world and God's plans to restore such beginning with His resurrection. So much of our popular culture believes in the Rapture and that we'll escape into some Heaven but this is anti-Biblical as He will bring Heaven onto Earth and restore a creation where all will be friendly, wise, and serving God. All of the Early Church accepted the Resurrection as a literal historical event and it's only since Enlightenment that so many in Western culture have become hostile and skeptical towards Christianity. This is what gave people hope to go through the persecutions and what should be our hope as believers.

The gospel is the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM!
Jesus is going to return and set up the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH! God’s government ON THE EARTH! The Messiah died for his people! God resurrected the Messiah! The Messiah will resurrect his people! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21

So is Heaven now in a different dimension- and is that where we go when we die?
God is not IN Heaven. God IS Heaven. God’s being does not dwell in Heaven. God’s presence IS Heaven. I think?
Why does it just say that God will be with his sons?? Why not daughters ??
Same reason any other writing during that day and age does. The Bible is no different.

I don't know whether you want it to be there or you're joking around. But God's return will be worldwide and not just in one place; and He will restore all areas of the new Earth He will restore.
The new Jerusalem is on the mount of olives. Read your Bible as it is. Don't add your understanding but the Holy spirits understanding.
In Davao is just one of many false prophets. We are in time where many false teachers and prophets will rise but careful not be decieved. Always read bible and keep praying. Remember Jesus is the only way. NO religious leader can save you, they only leading you to hell. Beware!
