Think though, Jadis LIED about Rick being a B. She probably is 'sincerely' concerned with losing all she's built for herself because if she knew that Rick was an A, perhaps she knew who Michonne was too. And then there's also the fact that she was at least once attracted to Rick. I think Thorne may be attracted to him now but there's also the fact that Michonne would be _'Competition'_ for the attainment of more POWER at some point. And with her it's also 'Misery loves Company!' _'You can't get to your someone and I can't get to mine!'_ MANIPULATION on both their accounts.

This show is on the highest level of all. All actors played so well so far. It's unpredictable. Love it. Hope they will keep it this way.

Although she assisted in the writing of the entire series, Gimple tasked Danai with the writing and showrunning of Episode 4, so this next one should be interesting. ;)
Danai explained that it is dialogue-heavy, as there is a lot between the two that needs to be said, and particularly for Andrew Lincoln - because she wanted his phenomenal acting chops on full display. :)
Outside of episode 6's ending, the fanbase is gonna be talking about episode 4 for a very long time!!!

Michonne is the key to Rick getting back. Just like in prior seasons. Michonne can change his mind. Michonne can inspire him to get back to his REAL self. I love this character building. The end of the season and follow up seasons are going to be so dang good!
Sadly no follow up seasons. Danai is done done with walking dead. I’m devastated about that.

@@alaanarhodes Not necessarily. Danai said she was done with TWD a few years ago (not recently that I'm aware of). But here she is, back at it. Her, Andy, and Gimple have been pretty tight mouthed so far on additional seasons, but I think that's mostly because they've finally learned a lesson with all of the spoiling done by announcing the spin-offs and S2 renewal for DD way too early. Both Daryl Dixon and Dead City are renewed for more seasons, even though they were also initially announced as limited series.
Danai and Andy are both executive producers and writers for TOWL, and so have A LOT of creative control with their characters and the show, unlike in TWD. Which makes a big difference in how actors feel about a project. Plus Gimple has also hinted at further down the line combining all of the spin-offs back into the main show, with possibly eventually doing a season 12 of TWD to tie it all back together. So to me it's looking like there's a strong chance for additional seasons of TOWL. Have to wait and see though.

I have always loved Michone since her legendary introduction during series 2 with those walkers on chains. But in this episode....seeing her perform and giving that look and stance?? man i love her even more. She is BADASS in capital letters!!
Another really good episode! You understand why Rick is acting that way, it’s to protect Michonne, Judith and everyone at Alexandria. Thorne is officially a villain. She tried pulling a Shane. That ending was wild. Very hyped for the next episode. Also, I think when Michonne found the artist who drew on the phones, it showed her that Rick never forgot about them or gave up going back home... just couldn't. This is peak Walking Dead.
Shane just went nuts in my book though, as I recall.
Thorne more so started believing in a higher cause after so long.
I still believe Thorne can come back. She’s not too far gone. She thinks this is all there is, she just needs to let Rick show her the way
@@Unknown-ek1ox Shane only really lost it because he caught feelings for Ricks family, and the people around him kept dismissing his efforts to keep them safe. He mentally adjusted to the world much faster than the people around him

Thorne dropped the ball and Michonne picked it up and did what Thorne couldn't do.

I think Pearl knows exactly who Michonne is, even though nothing has been said out loud.
Jadis took Rick not simply to save him, but because she wanted him for herself. That's why she doesn't want Rick to leave and makes threats to kill Michonne and the others.
No she wants Gabriel more, Rick is just a 'toy' for her. She likes to torture him like a narcissist. Yes, she want fuck him since the first meet but that wasn't her main intention and just to humiliate him. Through him she was allowed into the crm again and has the chance for a 'career'.
Nah jadis already explained in this episode that it’s for the CRMs secrecy. She also explains it in world beyond series. That might be an interesting plot if that’s the case though.
You really must of forgot her relationship with Gabriel, she might want the Rick D but she don't want the Rick Love 😂

Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, lots of them don't have to rely on others for safety. That still doesn't change the fact that there is safety in numbers. Maybe "Dana" was tired of being alone. Thorne's not wrong, but the reasons for her conclusion are arguable.
Thorne (in my arse) clearly can't be trusted. I can't IMAGINE how Okafore thought she was an "A". She's definitely a "B". When she heard about Omaha "falling" she immediately fell in line and resigned herself to the CRM way of life. And pushed Rick to do the same. Okafore's body was barely cold and she got tapped for a promotion and now she's declaring "she's not Okafore...she's a believer". Thorne has shown Rick who she is...and she's got to be taken out.
She is clearly an A what do you mean. She was always unpredictable since the start which is a clear asset seen in leaders. She only gave up trying to escape because she doesn't think there's anything better. She is finally doing something that she believes she is good at. LEADING.
Agreed!!!!! She doesn't know how to keep her composure, extremely emotional, radical and needs to be told what to think by those in charge. Thorne is a B cosplaying an A. She has a lot of Shane's characteristics.

She is also willing to give Michonne a chance knowing she's an A, similar to Okafore, but will try to take her out if she goes against (what she believes) is best for HUMANITY😭

Beale already knew during Dana's orientation that she was an A. Just like he knew Thorne and Rick were. He allowed Thorne to vouch for her. Michonne, didn't have to pretend because the person who counted already knew. I am calling it that it was Beale who fast tracked Dana up the ladder so that Thorne had to take her along on that mission.
29:04 this scene reminds me and almost just looks like a call back to when Shane aims at Rick same spooky sounds and what not and then Dale is standing next to him with a concerned look.
I think next episode is going be deep talking and hopefully Michonne tells Rick about RJ finally. Awesome reaction video. Thorne can’t be trusted either. I think Jadis might kill Thorne.

When you saw thorn aiming her gun at michonne in the woods with that look on her face it’s the same foreshadowing of that callback of when Shane first aimed his gun at rick in the woods in season 1 of the walking dead .
So complicated but SO good! I think people keep misinterpreting Rick’s perspective as “defeated”. But I don’t think that’s accurate. It’s more about him realizing that it’s what has to be done to keep everyone back home safe. Very different dynamic. He’s making an impossible choice and sacrifice.
He’s definitely defeated because he’s scared Jadis will wipe out Alexandria

If the commonwealth has 50k people, how could this army not know about them? I was thinking it was the secret city, but then Rick and Michonne would end up running into their group on those furlow days
or back in the regular seasons of TWD when you saw the helios flying over the area.. surely they knew about Negan's compound as well...maybe they figured the other communities were too far away to pose a threat, and were going to wait them out to see if they imploded or grew to be a threat
Okay as a US Army veteran that has flown in helicopters I found it dumb when she snatched Rick and jumped out of a flying helicopter Lol. Especially when they were flying through a storm not being able to see if they were over land, a mountain or water what the terrain was and how high they were.

@Clare, it might be months or years before they can escape the crm because what was the timeline between the whispers and commonwealth arc. Didn’t they have another time jump after the commonwealth arc so this could imply that it been years after.

I realized last night… Jadis threatens Rick with taking out his people and she’s thinking Alexandria. Neither Rick or Michonne know about the commonwealth! A lot more people than Jadis remembers
This episode was my favorite one yet. I am SO EXCITED FOR EPISODE 4! Also the Rick roast to Jadis was PERFECT! ❤Keep it up I love watching your reactions after mine lol.
Michonne was the same one that convinced rick that they had to fight during the time negan was in charge over there group with the saviors and everything. Rick wanted to give up then at that time but michonne gave him so much more hops even Maggie along the side . Now michonne’s trying to do the same with rick thinking he can’t stop the crm from them being free to get back home
This whole story so far is brilliantly shot and told. Even if it seems like Jadis and Rick are bound together by secrets and convenience there is an underlying ambition in the way Jadis communicates with Rick every single time. How Jadis says "Oh but I am involved" "If She just stayed away this could have all been avoided" "Im sure you did it for her. Im sure that's true, but I wonder if there is something else keeping you here" and finally, the way she shows up and greets Rick at the cascade forward operating base knowing that Michoone was watching, and Jadis looks at Michoone with Rick next to her like "Yea, I took him away from you, and look at us, still together, while your over there" kind of look. It's so subtle, and brilliantly acted. Also last but not least.. When Thorne looks at Michoone as a threat and picks up her rifle and looks at Michoone through the rifle scope I couldn't help but cross compare that moment with that scene in season 1 of the walking dead, when Shane locks in his gaze on Rick in the woods and aims his shotgun at Rick.. With that look of malice, and playing it out in his head on what the story would be he would tell the others if he did pull the trigger. "it was an accident, we heard something in the woods, thought it was walkers and decided to investigate. It resulted in friendly fire by mistake, man.. we need to start wearing reflective vests out here" (Shanes exact quote) Thorne is seeing Shanes perspective on the world since the briefing with Major General Beale. Thinking she knows what the course of action is, and disagreeing with Rick on every front based on a slight difference of opinion based on procedure and who follows whose ideas on how to survive.
Omg I just wrote a comment that I think jadis and Rick slept together. Because jadis is moving like she has a secret to tell.

I love the complex nature of Jadis’s character. I smile when she enters the scene. Plus she saved Rick’s life. Where would we be if she hadn’t saved him.
Yeah, Michonne's seen this side of Rick before when he was so subservient to Negan and knows what it takes to snap Rick out of it. If anything, next weeks episode is gonna be her slapping some sense into him (and hopefully Rick finally explaining the bind they're in and why it's not so simple to just up and leave).

I loved the tension building from the start of the episode. The longer they are together in the Civic Republic the higher the risk of them being found out. With Jadis, Thorne and Beale on Rick’s case and him trying to keep Michonne and the people back home safe, the pressure intensifies. Rick is torn, he knows he can’t leave without risking the lives of everyone he loves. The final scene when the pot has truly boiled over, Michonne pulling them out of the helicopter makes sense, she knows in that moment there is no other way. I look forward to next weeks reaction. Thank you for your reaction. Enjoyed every moment.
Fun fact.. I found out where they were filming at in Jersey City New Jersey at Hamilton Park. By the time I got there after work Andrew Lincoln had left.. however I saw the scene of michionne being filmed during the park scene .. I have so many pictures when they were filming and video and pictures of her when she came towards me to go into the van. All I could say was oh my god when she said hello to me 😅 I'm a die-hard walking dead fan.. they filmed the scenes with all the walkers where there was a lot of abandoned buildings five mins f rom my house.. all the trailers were there. Every time I go me and my kids kept missing them. Drives me insane lol . Wish I could send you guys the pictures and videos that I took when they were filming the park scene

I think Thorne is intimidated by Michonne maybe thinking she could mess up their plan that Okafur set, or maybe she is on beales side now & is worried Michonne could take her spot or something. Idk, I’m so worried for both Rick and Michonne. I wanted reunions but I don’t think we are going to get any. It sucks. Waiting 13+ years for certain endgames/reunions and not getting them is so frustrating 😩

Thorn is the only person I strongly dislike in this series. She sees Michonne is better than her in every way, but Michonne is so unimpressed by Thorn and her bullshit agenda. Michonne got her shook and she’s only been there a few days.😂😂😂
I actually like Thorn's character but I see your point. I think Thorn is playing some sort of a Shane role. I think she's in love with Rick and hates that Rick is so adamant about keeping this random girl around that saved him, I feel like she's angry she wasn't there to save him and usually someone ends up really loving a person if they saved there life... So I think that's where her head is. It wouldn't surprise me if these next three episodes introduces a love triangle, it also wouldn't stump me if maybe Rick and Thorn already hooked up I mean it is the apocalypse and people have needs, they seem very close with each other
