Super review👍👍. When I first started looking for outboards I was searching for such review videos and there was almost nothing on UA-cam. The two pieces flex is really nice. You never loose your prop.
Thanks Dim, and yes the locked in prop shaft is very good. How about your boat builds? I've missed your updates on the forums! You have a few masterpieces that need to get wet 😎👍
@@CozyRC thank you Jan. Indeed, I don t have much time lately... Kids have so many activities almost every weekend the last month (school celebrations, field events, presentations in English language etc) plus I cut finger with my table saw and it needed 4 stitches. So I couldn t do a lot for a number of days... But I ll be back I promise 😉
@@kaprc631 It sounds familiar! Family life is more important. And your accident with the saw sounds quite serious. Hopefully you will fully recover! Cheers, DJ
Nice, I was looking into this one for my 3d printed boat I'm working on. Nice to see a little review. I'm quite new to RC boats so it's good to find this sort of info.
Ventilation plate, not cavitation. Sharpening the leading edge increases drag by increasing cavitation and possibly causing erosion of the metal (better to leave it blunt).
This is a cavitation plate actually. It's often used on F1 Tunnels, and RC outboard units in general. The prop runs 50% above the water, so preventing ventilation is not what you want 😀. Sharpening the leading edge of the outboard leg increased the top speed by 4km/h, so in this case, the modification was effective. Thanks for your inputs, I'm always open to learn and consider other's options 👍
I need to repower my Proboat Stiletto 29 inch. How do you think this would hold up on 4s with a 3660 2050kv motor. I’d like to not be replacing flex cables all the time. Thanks!
Yes, MHZ has a large geared outboard, for +40" boats. TFL has a geared outboard as well, for 26 to 35" boats. But be aware that they cannot handle high rpm and they are limited in the power they can handle, due to the gears. Cheers, DJ
@@CozyRC thank you so much! Thos things look awesome! Way out of budget for my first ever rc anything tho. Going to build a hull from wetroom boards, starting tomorrow, and buy electronics once i have some idea of the hull weight and such.

@@FEboats That sounds like a perfect setup, with probably good flex shaft life 👍
Saya suka dengan rc boat anda ❤
Thank you! 😎
Do someone make a geared version of this? Its a minefield navigating through all the rc stuff as an outsider to the hobby😂
