Big B, I think that you could make a workable RC boat out of a cocoanut shell! Your sense of ingenuity is sharp! Great video brother!
Killer job man! It’s been fun watching you revive this boat! I’m sure no one’s more antsy to see you run it than you!
Its coming along great. If the water system becomes a problem you can fit an outrunner drive. Less stress on the turning and plenty of air cooling available. A little water pickup for the esc. Or as there might be less amps, maybe smaller esc no need for water. What ever, your doing a nice job. Looking forward to the splash down in next video. Com'ooooonh, com'ooooonh. 🤣
It turned out great, I like the battery tray solution. Looking forward to the maiden, that outboard spins nicely! Cheers, DJ
Thanks 👍
Gorgeous boat ! Can’t wait to see her run
Another way to strengthen the stock flex cable is to solder the flex cable to the prop shaft (or use red loctite). The square end will begin to round out over time and eventually let go. Especially with a brushless motor. You can also run it stock and then when it rounds out, solder or glue the flex cable at that time. The TFL mini outboard uses a similar system and this upgrade works equally well for that outboard. Excellent work on this project so far. Cheers!
Roger that, thanks
This boat is awesome!!!
a Simple trick for those pesky clips is a simple Bic pen! Pull the ink cartridge out and use the tube and tip to push the clip on to the pin.
TRY IT!!! Thanks for the vids B!
Nice, I appreciate that.... u was struggling with the first one lol
Uds presentan bellezas, ojalá yo tuviera los materiales y la tecnología para lograr equipos así, muchas gracias por realizar estos vídeos.
That’s AWSOME !!! I will pay you the highest compliment buy copying your sliding battery tray for my drag boat build 👍
The grommets for the wires and cooling line is a top notch idea to Big B.
I have a very cheap/old 12mph tunnel hull I converted to a brushless inboard driven boat and still had to put the battery in the nose but it “flew” with only the tail end of the hull on the water and would flip spectacularly end over end and land upside right (almost) every time.
I am particularly interested to see this one of yours on the water.
You go Big B-BGFL 👍
The sliding battery tray was actually fairly easy to pull off, with some proper planning.... good luck brother
Nice work bro...
enjoyed it BigB! great vid and info👌🏾
Hi man I love this project, I like very much tunnel type. I aspetto next video about furst run soon. Thankx man fron Italy
More to come!
B. That's complicated setup. Tell you what. All we do is because we have to improvise. Lol.B I can't wait.
Hey B, Knurled is pronounced Nurled, the K is silent . Just like in the word, Knife. lol
Lol I'll still pronounce it wrong, every dern time.
Mkay
Another hint the plastic outboard drive will not like to much power and load the the housing that holds the drive will distort
👍top👍
You don’t need to have the servo links same number of holes apart. It depends on the amount of arm swing you want.
I bet it would go faster if you took the Bud Light stickers off! Lmao!!
Personally i think older boats were more scale and therefore nicer... Would love to see manufacturers would give nowadays it a bit more work. Which shouldn't be to difficult i guess with all the progress in machines, moldings, computers, 3d and so on...
I've noticed that myself, now a day scale boats well really scale boats are slow lol.
@@IRONCLADRC Ha, ha... Yeah, that's true for sure. Got a beautiful retro boat myself, but its more a shelf queen. You dont want to crash that with even 25mph since its so fragile.
I thought those Dremel cables were RH lay, do you need to run a RH prop ?
It's left hand lay. All three of my Drexel tools rotate ccw
@@IRONCLADRC great hack mate
Will it run on trans fluid?
TFL makes a nice small electric outboard thats not plastic. the one i have is on the back of a TFLSPRINT, i would stuffing tube or sleeve the inside of that if i were you anything over 25,000 RPM or so gonna melt it. ua-cam.com/video/sj29V9arMdM/v-deo.html it comes with a little 50a esc because its an older boat from tfl. i just ran it too see before i change the motor and esc out....... K&B makes a nitro one too
Hi Ironclad, I'm having some trouble with my boat. I have all brand new parts. When I plug in the battery to the esc, the motor starts spinning by it self, until I push the throttle forward and I have to hold it there. Do you know what could possibly be?
Your dual rate may be up or down make sure it's neutral with the esc your using, if that doesn't work try reversing the throttle in the transmitter then going back normal. If that doesn't work rebind your rx/TX make sure you follow the binding procedure some esc's need neutral/zero trims some don't.
@@IRONCLADRC thanks Ironclad!! At the end it was something silly, I bought a flycolor and when it’s new you have to hold the throttle wide open for 2 seconds, and it sets the maximum throttle and neutral. It was the first instruction in the manual 🤦
HI B . JUST LOOKED AT MY MADFLOWS C.G. AND THE HULL IS 19 INCHES. AT 8 INCHES WITH 6S IT IS BALLENCED. IS THAT ABOUT RIGHT?
