Crash, fix, and speed record with my Psychocat 6S RC Catamaran
In this video, I run my Dr. Psycho Psychocat V1 RC catamaran.
This RC boat is equipped with a 3670 1850kV RocketRC motor on 6S. I tried a 640 prop for the first time. The first run ends in a crash and breakdown, but the following runs are a success!

Speed runs of my DIY Twin mono. How to set up for speed?
Because of your video I opened one of my 4 ESC Flycolor 150A that i had buy before 8years! this was a mistake! The cooling system is very good! heat sink it is on three coper pipes with thermally conductive silicone .because the screws placed with pressure, something you don't have it now! the factory cooling it is much beter than yours. Guys do not touch your ESC!
I disagree with you. The default esc is not cooled by water. The water pipes are on the sides of the housing. The cooling conduction towards the mid section is almost none. Putting a water cooled block directly on top of the FET's will keep them much cooler. I used thermal conductive paste in between the cooling block and the esc internals. Actually, the mod I show is sold by stumbfab commercially, and they are known for cooling mods. If you don't like the mod, it's OK, of course. Keep yours stock then. ✌️
@@CozyRC No problem Bro.But that (The water pipes are on the sides of the housing) the pipes it is a few centimeters from the center it is not big problem, it's a pure piece of aluminum (Hot , go fast to cold side) your solution is worse than the factory for only one reason! You do not have pressure to have good contact, the thermopaste it is not enough ,need screws! otherwise it would be better!✌
please I want your help, We are designing an Rc small boat that will be used in a competition. And I am having hard time finding which propeller design and type to use in our boat.. i hope we can communicate about his .. thanks
What is the boat size and hull type? Motor, battery voltage? I could advise you if I have some more info on your project 😀
@@CozyRC I can send you sir all details in another platform if possible. here its a bit hard to send everything. do you use facebook, discord or anything similar? thanks a lot

Merci bien!
Having watched the videos of this boat i was wondering what are the benefits of having the strut and prop further away from the transom as this boat does. First time boat builder. Thanks for your time and your channel
Placing the prop further from the transom, can contribute to a more stable running hull. It's easier to accurately set the prop height and angle, too.
Thank you
Absolutely stunning!
Fucking cool bro 👊
Amazingly nice rides for such a short hull! I definitely agree with the new painting scheme!
Thanks, Dim! It's so nice to run the boat at a fast pace, and being able to push the throttle even more 😎. I'm wondering how the RocketRC 3670 2250kV motor would work 😄
I ve run this motor in my velosmono and although the testing was short I was impressed!
@kaprc631 I'm looking forward to your Velosmono runs.. it will be crazy fast when setup correctly, because you managed to make it very light!
What driveshaft and collet are you using .I am having slippage issues with the stock components.
The stock version uses square shaft ends, so it cannot slip? I use a collet with a 4mm flex shaft. Round end in the collet, and square in the prop shaft 👍
@@CozyRC Many thanks for your reply. I am new to this set up so probably have not got my unit adjusted correctly.
Nice run, i know it will run perfect with this gold prop👍
Thanks! It runs great with this 40mm 1.6 pitch gold prop. I will try the red 1.9 pitch prop, too
it seems you managed to tame it, how about an upgrade to the propeller?
Yes, now it runs stable and loose, without flipping 👍 This video was with an upgraded prop already, but I will try the famous red 1.9 pitch prop as well in 40mm size 😎 I'm also considering a 2250kV motor..
@@CozyRC good choice on the kv but 1.9 you don't think it's to much?
@@daiciuapostol79It's worth trying!
Just like the rest of your fleet, a work of art. Can't wait for the next shrimp boat build videos
Thank you, Vinnie! I bought this boat second hand, but from a reknown Dutch RC boater, who has many fast and great running hulls. It took me just a bit of fine tuning and prop testing to let this boat rip to 67mph 😎
Dat gaat als de brandweer!
Bedankt Ed, dit is inderdaad een rap bootje! Ik denk eraan om de motor te upgraden. The romp loopt zo stabiel, dat ik denk dat het kan.
Awesome footage and beautiful boats! WowBG4L🚤💨
Thanks! It was a great meet up. Many nice boats and a friendly vibe 😎
Wow that thing is blazing fast! The sound of the hull slapping on the water is amazing 🤯
Thanks! I love those details as well, such as the sound of the hull: drive and water slapping 😎✌️
Its a small boat so kind off surprised how good it handles, even with some chop. Definitely a keeper
That's why I'm impressed by it as well! The weight has to do with that, because it weighs about 3.1kg ready to run. It holds 6S 6000mAh 😅
She's screaming, nice run. Is that a .187" / 3/16" flex or 4mm flex ?
Thanks! Yes, it has a nice and distinctive sound. Its running a 4mm flex cable, and I use a sleeve on the prop shaft to run 4.76mm ( 3/16thl props ✌️
Cukup Wow tunigy marine 3674 1650kv ? Tapi saya tak punya bandingan bagaiaman dinamo itu menggunakan 2s ,4s ? Berapa selisihnya
Thanks! I'm running 1650kV on 6S. On 4S, this motor has too low rpm. For a 4S setup, look for 2200-2600kV motor 👍
Great boat. On rails
Great boat, very fast and stable around corners. Looks like they turn tighter and more stable than an outrigger!? Yeah ? What’s the name for this hull type please?! Beautiful boat 👍👍
Thanks! Yes, just like the real F1 Powerboats, this F1 hull turns on a dime. It's my own design and build, called the Cozy F1 T800. 👍
@@CozyRC available as a kit ARTR from you ?

Wow, ossum!! So many boat's, beautiful boat's. Can't look away. I wish we had a community this big.
@@sakibian01 Thank you, Sakibian! Yes, many beautiful and fast boats were present!
@@CozyRC I wonder, did you guys put GPS on? Who smoked, who was the fastest?
@sakibian01 Some guys did, but some guys don't care about the top speed number 😀. The highest speed I heard about, was 129km/h from the small cat from 05:18. I set a record with my T800 F1 Tunnel: 98km/h and also with my blue Psychocat: 108km/h 😎
@@CozyRC Congratulations, man! Setting new heights for self improvement.
Thanks! 😎
Lots of beautiful boats, what is that short stubby blue cat called? Nice!
That's my Dr. Psycho Psychocat V1. It's a boat from 2001, but a very good and fast hull. I will make a separate video about it, from this event!
Where can I sign up for next event? Cheers
Through me. It will be in March, 2025 probably. It's kind of a closed event, but I will try to invite you! Otherwise, the next big event is in April, 2025, including The gas / turbine boats. That's somewhat international, including German and UK guys joining 😎
@@CozyRC Hi. Thank you. Ok lets aim for April then. I have the Megalodon under construction, and the 1/5 tunnel. Would very much like to take a couple days and go Show off with other proud builders. Cheers
The April event is on a camp site, with small bungalows, too. So you can stay next to all the action, if you want. I keep you updated!
Was weer een top dag.. kan nu al niet wachten tot eind maart.
Zeker, ik heb ook heerlijk gevaren en het was gezellig onder elkaar 👍
Dam bro!! The BG is rolling deep in the Netherlands!!! Awesome boats!!!
Thanks! Yes, we have a lively community, with lots of cool boats! The gas boat community is big as well, but they don't allow gas boats on this lake.
@CozyRC see that's awesome!! Yep with gas boats it's the same here, tough to find a place and usually for me it's an hour drive. For electric 30 min to a fresh water lake like the one you see me always at in my videos! That's a big reason for my decisions when buying a boat!
❤❤❤
I love the 1650KV on 6S, great setup!
Thank you! I think 6S 1650kV is the sweet spot for an outboard. Lots of torque, good flex shaft life, and good speed 👍
I definitely learned more to help when i build another one!
@@H2oMechanic2RC Thanks! That's nice to hear. I'm actually using some of your mods on mine, such as the carbon fiber motor mount and transom (to be applied still on mine). ✌️

@mariebaxter473 Thanks, Marie /Paul! Do you know Brenton by any chance?
@@CozyRC Dont think so, hardly get out much how these days , hope to put that right soon , and get back to running my riggers,
Nice! Tunnel hulls are awesome!
Thanks, Mike! I fully agree 😎
@@CozyRC Back in the 80's I had a Prather lap cat with a 3,5cc K&B outboard on it. Always welcome.
@@mikesrcgarage That's a nice hull, which some guys are still running! And the K&B legs are great, too 👍
Do you have a link for that hull?
It's my own design and build. I stopped selling the kit, due to low profit margin and a lot of work, sorry!
Too bad the servo didn't fit, but that isnt`t something you can't fix. I am very excited to see what you will do with the boat.
@@kekse1669 Thank you! The right size servo is now installed 😊
The Turnigy XK series motors are a great value motor & pretty fast, really like these motors. Buy them when HK have sales on for silly money, they had a few different Turnigy XK motors in there sale a couple of weeks back. Example XK 3674 - 2200kv for £13 each or 15.5 Euro.
Guess what.. I bought this motor at that sale for about €16, together with 5 other motors 😅
@@CozyRC Yeah I have lots of the XK motors I bought over the years, 28 series, 36 series & 40 series. In the same sale they were selling the XK3650 for 10Euro, already had a few of these so didn't want anymore.
This is 4mm banana connectors on the motor?
Yes, they are!
Hey bro. Can you explain What is CW and CCW propeller. In detail ?
CCW counter clock wise prop rotation, left turning veiwed from the rear. CW clock wise, right turning veiwed from the rear.
Exactly right! I couldn't explain it better 😀 One clarification: viewed from the rear of the boat, that is.
Both will give forward thrust. Right. Which propeller is best for the counter-clockwise rotating gasoline engine.
@djihawk3496 counter clockwise rotating engine, viewed from the rear of the engine, right? In that case, you need a clockwise rotating prop, because the prop rotation is viewed from the back of the boat, as mentioned before
@CozyRC yes. Watching from the rear end of the boat. Engine rotates in CCW. But could you tell me. Other than clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation while watching from rear end. What is the effect on water for these two types of prop.
It runs fantastic! What prop did you run?
Thanks, Pete! I ran a 43mm 1.6 pitch CNC cut aluminium prop 😎
Do you think it can handle a bigger prop for 100km+?
Yes, the fastest prop I have is a 44mm 1.6pitch. The motor makes less rpm, but the speed is still higher. I might try that one, soon!
