@Canaan Weston Ah yes, totally not obvious spambots. At least make it post different comments, when it just blatantly repeats this same thing every time it becomes pretty obvious.
hey glock, the 1 structure you found at 14:33 that is covered with green leaves and 2 rings is actually a maypole, it is very rare and lots of worlds don't even have them. if you build a house right near it your comfort gets increased by 1.
Glock: *Dies 3 minuets in to a tree* What I expected: "Alright guys that's the end of this series, hope you've enjoyed, let me know what you thought and would like to see me play next time"
I was like Glock you got to trick people you gotta quit for a sec just to mess with people a bit. he did not say this was going to be hardcore though one life at the beginning.
Run the antler pick ax until you get to iron. The nice thing about that antler pick is it can be repaired at any basic workbench where as the metal ones require a forge to repair. No point in mining all the copper to craft the bronze pick as it's basically useless. You will need a bronze wood ax to cut fine wood early on so that is worth the bronze investment. You can use the Antler pick all the way to silver. Once you need silver you will need a metal pick to mine it. Also a lot of people will tell you to make metal armor but keep in mind IT SLOWS YOU DOWN. Metal armor will take a LOT of metal grinding to craft and that doesn't seem like the Glock9 way. Run the troll hide clothing as long as you can and only make / upgrade the metal helms as they have no movement de-buff. I used level 3 troll hide pants and shirt with a Drake helm to kill Moder and well into the plains biome. You will lose the "Sneaky" buff by wearing a metal helm with troll hide clothing but the sneaky buff is basically useless. You take a lot less damage if you can avoid getting hit in the first place. The pole arms are fantastic after you beat Bone Mass. They are great for killing wolves and Fulings (small numbers, Fulings hit like a mac truck). Lastly, Knives are great run around weapons when you are not intending to fight big targets. Knives are the only weapons that have no movement penalty so you can leave them equipped for fast retaliation. Don't be turned off by the low attack damage because they attack faster than any other weapon and they drain very little stamina per attack so they more than make up for their initial low attack power.
A piece of advice... build your main domicile around the maypole you saw @14:34. It gives an additional point towards your rested buff. Place a bed and as many decorations as you can around the maypole and then build your main storage and crafting facility, as well as your portal room nearby. You will want to transport any livestock you tame to this location as they do not breed unless you are present. So, to maximize your presence, you may want to build your farms and apiary here as well.
love that your getting into this game, hopefully we will be getting some more content soon. btw that first mushroom hut you checked out had a chest just below the roof (those building rarely do)
When my friends and I are in the mood to go hand to hand with graylings we generally just use the special attack (click the mouse wheel). Watching someone take down a grayling entirely with this attack is one of the joys of valheim :) Works a charm to get Huggy to bugger off out of the way too ...
Can't wait to see how this goes!! A tip I learned playing this: pickable resources like berries and mushrooms respawn in the same spots. So once you find a place for a permanent home, you can just mark them on your map to make them easy to find.
"having trouble with sneaking up on 'em" - Take notice of the wind direction. (Arrow on the mini map, and/or the wind lines you see) They have a harder time "smelling" you when you approach against the wind direction.
4:54 there is a chest unter the roof 14:35 if you build next to the Maypole it gives you an extra comfort point. I think this place is ideal for a base. The see is not to far.
Highly recommend the wood arrows, save your feathers for frost arrows. The flint arrows don't add enough damage to make up for the fact that feathers are an annoying grind that will never be automated.
I Luv this game sooo much I have already sunk 363 hours into it. You will like it Glock. The building is sweet. I takes a few to get use to restrictions like structure load. When your building. Just watch for Blue,Green, yellow, and orange in that order. When you go to put something up or attach it ,if its red it will just break.
I did the exact same thing... first tree I felled with an axe was also my first death. Damn things are dangerous when you're living off of berries and fungi.
I've done the same, basically, beat the first boss, did some exploring, and built my first home. I was hoping some of my friends would join me in playing Valheim... they never did. If you want I can give you some more tips about combat, cheesing game mechanics, and building. I'm asking first because I understand some people want to learn things themselves.
Hey Glock, love your ark and 7DTD series. If you ctrl+click items in chests they'll automatically transfer and stack with existing items. Keep up the good work dude.
Glock you have made my whole year. This is a great game and definitely peak for a survival series. I really hope you enjoy it, I personally have about 400 hours into this one haha. Lots of fun, tons of opportunities for content, and even as an early access it has a boatload of content. Just got far enough in to see the tree death, yup this happens a lot in Valheim LOL.
@Glock9 @ 14:40 just to the left is a "Maypole" It is one of the rarest spawns in the game and is the ONLY way to maximize your comfort, but you have to build around it. I have never seen one of those in any game I have played so far.
I went straight to flint arrows as well, but later once archery skill is up and better bow like Draugr, mostly shot wood arrows unless I was killing smth that needed better, but for deer, boar , greylings wood is good.... and cheap, not to mention if u use a dojo to train any skills after dying they come in handy. And you can sleep thru the night on your bed.
Make wood arrows to shoot birds for their feathers. Wood arrows don't have feathered flights.... Later when you get a harpoon you can use the harpoon for hunting birds.
You definitely want at least three bee hives. They will give you enough honey for poison resist potions upon harvest. The potions are a need for the swamp and third boss.
Followed your whole Nightmare run on 7D2D. very entertaining. I played Valheim with a friend online durring the pandemic. i wasnt mad about it. It was just a real F'n grind man to get to the bronze age. maybe i gave up too soon. either way. im happy to see you chose this as your next feat of amazing Glock!...gonna tune in! cant wait to see more. philly in the house bruh! cheers!
I'm sensing a trend and another collab. Neebsgaming ends 7 days to die then Glock ends it. Neebsgaming starts Valheim and defeats the boss within a couple of episodes. Now Glock defeats the boss in one episode? I smell a delicious collab and I LOVE it.
You got me feeling a kinda way for ending the 40 day nightmare the way you did, then you got me feeling another kinda way by having your next upload be a Valheim playthrough... You know how to keep your audience sitting on the edge of their seat, Glock!
My first thought while watching Glock fight Eikthyr, "Maybe he should play some dark souls. That would teach him how to roll, and be an AMAZING series to watch."
Gotta say I am super happy you started a Valheim series. Gotta fight the crack epidemic in every world and nobody is as qualified as you with years of training as a New Jersey resident.
At 14:35, you walked right by the Maypole. It is a structure that you cannot build in the game, only find and it provides +1 comfort. I have never seen one in any of my games so you got pretty lucky
Hay Glock one thing you can do is take some time to level up some of your skills. An easy way of doing it is finding a bolder build a small house around it, build a fire and you pretty much have unlimited skill training for weapons. Cause the rested/sheltered buff you get from the fire and being covered from the elements gives you a huge stamina/regen boots along with being well fed. If you don't mind the grind, then slapping a bolder is the way to go!
Makes it through 40 days on nightmare, gets killed by a falling tree on day one.
Hahaha
Ok, this made me laugh out loud for real!
@Canaan Weston Ah yes, totally not obvious spambots. At least make it post different comments, when it just blatantly repeats this same thing every time it becomes pretty obvious.
Glock: “I’m a grown man you don’t have to carry me everywhere”
Philly: “Oh really?”
0ooooooooh!!!
hey glock, the 1 structure you found at 14:33 that is covered with green leaves and 2 rings is actually a maypole, it is very rare and lots of worlds don't even have them. if you build a house right near it your comfort gets increased by 1.
Anxious to see him incorporating this wisdom, ty for posting! Think I'm starting in Glockheim.
Exactly! Very rare to find a maypole and Glock just casually walks by it near his starter area. So lucky!
Very true, a very rare thing and the only way to get to comfort level 18. (25 mins of rested bonus)
too bad i dont have the money for a better pc, this game its really great
@@michaelknightmustdie The maypole he found is near a shore although we dont know if that body of water is landlocked or not
Even in Valheim the birds wont leave him alone.
this is... Very true.
@Ico 12 untel..?
Glock: *Dies 3 minuets in to a tree*
What I expected: "Alright guys that's the end of this series, hope you've enjoyed, let me know what you thought and would like to see me play next time"
Same xD
Partly a spoiler comment
Yup. That's what I expected too.
I was like Glock you got to trick people you gotta quit for a sec just to mess with people a bit. he did not say this was going to be hardcore though one life at the beginning.
"If you want something in this world you gotta walk up to the first tree you see, and punch it right in the face"
Words to live by.
Steps unclear, now the tree is beating my ass.
But... I can't seem to find the face of the tree.
April: this argentavis makes life so much easier
May: fk off bird
Lol
Eagle
Fact: Vikings were the first to discover America. But when they landed on Jerseys shore and met Glock they turned around and sailed back home.
Better re-write history.
The bird is clearly trying to deliver you some corn meal.
I feel like he's going to run into cornmeal at some point in this game.
“You bring tidings?… You should’a brought an umbrella.”
(Yakov Smirnoff voice) "In Valheim, trees punch you!"
Run the antler pick ax until you get to iron. The nice thing about that antler pick is it can be repaired at any basic workbench where as the metal ones require a forge to repair. YES, I’ve been waiting for u do do a series on this game!
Second that, finally! 😁
Third: agreed.
Fourth: agreed

yeah defo 4:50
3 minutes in and Glock pulls a Simon with the tree
Glock : Begins a viking survival game.
Also Glock : Uses a western country track for the opening.
"Eventually we can tame a whole family of boars and then murder them as we see fit" - Animal Husbandry by Glock
When my friends and I are in the mood to go hand to hand with graylings we generally just use the special attack (click the mouse wheel). Watching someone take down a grayling entirely with this attack is one of the joys of valheim :) Works a charm to get Huggy to bugger off out of the way too ...
3:09
The sound you made when it hit you got me doubled over!!
The bird is like the equivalent of cornmeal in his 7DTD series
13:59 I was legit thinking of the exact same scene when you brought up the “wood tipped arrows”.
Funny as hell.
I'm not used to seeing you get killed in these. The tree was a rare treat.
Can't wait to see how this goes!!
A tip I learned playing this: pickable resources like berries and mushrooms respawn in the same spots. So once you find a place for a permanent home, you can just mark them on your map to make them easy to find.
"Get out there, walk up to the first tree you see...and punch it right in the face!"
I would wear that t-shirt XD
White arrow in minimap is wind direction, your scent carries on the wind. Stay down wind from the deer.
14:36
That thing is incredibly rare and if you build near it it will add co.fort to your base increasing your rested bonus!
that's a maypole at 14:40 in the village, build you house around it it gives the legendary 18 comfort
Glock plays Valheim and the crowd goes wild!
"having trouble with sneaking up on 'em" -
Take notice of the wind direction. (Arrow on the mini map, and/or the wind lines you see)
They have a harder time "smelling" you when you approach against the wind direction.
Also use the alt attack on the knife for a leap attack from distance
I like how he made sure the tree didn’t fall on him but then it just bitchslaps him
YOU DID IT, YOU FINALLY DID IT!!!
4:54 there is a chest unter the roof
14:35 if you build next to the Maypole it gives you an extra comfort point. I think this place is ideal for a base. The see is not to far.
This is so fun :) 4:54 btw you missed a chest in the ceiling of the little hut
Great start Glock. BTW you can use the middle mouse button secondary attack with the knife and it will do a lot more backstab damage.
Finally! Can't wait to experience this game the Glock9 way!
Awesome, appreciate the editing-down of the grind-y aspect of this game. Glad you took on the 1st boss, and can't wait to see more.
Highly recommend the wood arrows, save your feathers for frost arrows. The flint arrows don't add enough damage to make up for the fact that feathers are an annoying grind that will never be automated.

oh boy, your commentary is soooo funny.
"Don't get killed by a tree", .... and dies right after that from a tree.
That put a huge smile on my face. :D
Hey Glock, love your ark and 7DTD series. If you ctrl+click items in chests they'll automatically transfer and stack with existing items. Keep up the good work dude.

From a war on chickens to a war on falling trees. Logical progression.
this bodes ill for when the bears turn up if Glocks getting wasted by trees!
The wind direction is important for hunting, gotta sneak upwind or they smell you!
@Glock9
@ 14:40 just to the left is a "Maypole" It is one of the rarest spawns in the game and is the ONLY way to maximize your comfort, but you have to build around it.
I have never seen one of those in any game I have played so far.
The series I’ve been waiting for
In this game Glock, when you punch a tree in the face it can punch right back. LOL
@3:15, Of course coming from New Jersey he has no concept that trees can fall, as he's never seen a REAL tree :)
Ark island series no deaths!
3:30 a tree fell in the woods and nobody is left to hear it!
🤣😂🤣😂
'Get over here and finish what I started' is my new favorite battle taunt.
There's pretty much one very important rule..
*ABG*
Always Be Gathering
I was just thinking to myself ,"I haven't seen Glock9 show up in my feed in awhile." And then this shows up! I'm excited to see this series!
Not watched anything on this game yet. So glad you've played it, so here we go, my first experience of this game and G9 presents! Awesome!
Your commentary is both educational and hilarious. My favorite playthroughs.
14:32 - MAYPOLE ! move base to the village
Would be something, if crow drops one in the random
corn field
“Wanna make sure the tree dont fall on ya.....” “YOU DIED” I lost it hahaha
I wonder if that kenny is here......... and let's hope there is no cornmeal in here.
Glock: f-off kenny! F-off cornmeal
Make wood arrows to shoot birds for their feathers. Wood arrows don't have feathered flights.... Later when you get a harpoon you can use the harpoon for hunting birds.
3:10 . Gotta love the Simon inspired death sounds. Lucky this isn’t perma death.
Just 1 thing Boss, you need honey for everything. Take the bee hives 👍🏽🇨🇦😂. The tree priceless
For some reason, when he was punching those trees and saying beautiful words I imagined him playing minecraft and doing the same.
One jersey viking to another, start with the frame when building a house
We don't come here for Glock to be "Better than that" 😆 7:57 in reference.
Deer can smell you, so if the wind is blowing toward them you cant sneak attack em!
"Let's make sure this tree don't fall on us" - Glock9, 2021
guys, don't mind me, just collecting his quotes
"Let's take this lizard's meat and cook it up" - Glock9, 2021
I'm sensing a trend and another collab. Neebsgaming ends 7 days to die then Glock ends it. Neebsgaming starts Valheim and defeats the boss within a couple of episodes. Now Glock defeats the boss in one episode? I smell a delicious collab and I LOVE it.
Attention all! Please make way for his Majesty Glock9 the I, King and supreme ruler of Glockheim!
You got me feeling a kinda way for ending the 40 day nightmare the way you did, then you got me feeling another kinda way by having your next upload be a Valheim playthrough... You know how to keep your audience sitting on the edge of their seat, Glock!
Thank you for this series. Just watched your channel from ark recently
i friggin love this game (a bit behind on videos) but i could feel the "are you fucking kidding me?!?" look when the tree fell on Glock xD
My first thought while watching Glock fight Eikthyr, "Maybe he should play some dark souls. That would teach him how to roll, and be an AMAZING series to watch."
Oh Jesus. This is going to be goddamned glorious.
Glock. You have a scent. The deers can smell you they are downwind from you therefore preventing you from sneaking up on them.
Was so worth the wait! The complete silence when you died by tree was priceless! Looking forward to more viking life from ya. 😀❤️
Philly :who is dat
Bird: my friend
Gotta say I am super happy you started a Valheim series. Gotta fight the crack epidemic in every world and nobody is as qualified as you with years of training as a New Jersey resident.

7Days: The dude doesn't know how to die.
Valheim: Dies one minute in off a falling tree.
I got to admit. You got me with the New Jersey Viking comment.
I wish you did a blind play through, but happy to watch it
Murdered by a tree in like 3 min. Going to be a fun series.
You'd think that tree would appreciate all the ones you planted in 7 Days. But no, he punched you in the face.
trees are the most dangerous thing in this game!
I absolutely ADORE Valheim. I've really got to find some people to play with, though. It does get a tad lonely.
Glock: I am not an architect, I am a Viking.
Reality: Vikings were amazing architects, especially ship architects 😊
Heck yeah! I love this game, and I really appreciate you starting the new series. If it's half as good as the Ark one, I'm excited for it.
When hunting deer you also need to keep out of eyesight and I think scent in addition to keeping quiet.
I gotta play this new Valheim-NJ DLC. VO is on point!
YES! I have missed you so much, Glock. I'm so glad you're starting a Valheim series :D
"wanna make sure the tree don't fall on ya..."
Now THIS this is a series! I can't wait to how far you'll go

If you don't mind the grind, then slapping a bolder is the way to go!
"Get outta here with those words!" lmfao perfect start for a G9 series
You might find flint by the waterline, but you'll never find good water in the line at Flint.
