Truly. I've always thought this spot has a bit of a low ceiling for the elusive, perfect day. I once caught (outside) Freaks Peak, NH ungodly epic on the day after Monahans broke the same. That was a mid March swell with a mid-long period, warm weather and dead glass. The low was far enough south east that it pulled light offshores for the local spots. Definitely another area novelty spot. But on that day......
I think I saw a few miniguns. Hurricane waves can change from hour to hour so you need to bring a couple of boards with you. Anyone know where this is?
Why does everyone act as if this place is a big secret? Find the only place in New England that has the right shape beach to produce this kind of wedge, and you're there!
@@johnsmith-gu4sn Yes you are right about the window being a major factor. The truth is, I've never surfed the East Coast. I figured out where the spot is located just by looking at satellite imagery lol. It looks fun as hell, a lot of water moving around out there... I bet it gets off the charts big and scary on stormy winter days.
@@decarosbro7422 it only really works a few times a year. Getting the swell angle for it to produce the right shape doesn’t happen often, and it doesn’t magnify the swell like the wedge does
Learning to relax on 2-3 foot backs takes tremendous skill. This also why neither costs produces quality surfers. Have to leave the country to get good experience
We laugh at folks that fly all the way here ,we feel for your pain, it's so fickle! ya actually gotta live IN THE TOWN to get this wave in particular. A true unicorn sighting.
@@Jesterian only that proximity equals a far better chance at getting it like that, it's one of the most fickle, variable waves I ever surfed , rode it mostly before cell phones , swell apps,before it was in a book,( the dark ages!!) etc ,they make it a lot easier to get it good
