Thank you so much for this video beautiful! Really means a lot, I’m sixteen and about to start volunteering. I’m autistic and this is gonna be a hard but exciting challenge for me😊
I start tomorrow at the British Heart Foundation. I've never worked retail and used to have speech issues so I've been nervous working as a floor assistant. This really is helping calm the nerves xx
@@penguin9709 Sorry only just seen the message as I've been away. Okay so that was two years ago. I only volunteered there for about 3 months, I left because it was the next town over and I had a stalker. The work itself was good, I had fun. The biggest downside being we had new management who were made you feel like you needed to sacrifice an arm and a leg. When I called to tell them what happened on my way home and I wasn't going to come in the following day they had a 'Well you're coming in later today aren't you' attitude. However since then, I looked into other volunteer work outside of charity shops and I found one that was so much more suited to me. I am now employed in the civil service but will often take annual leave off to go back to this particular charity. I would pin this place for building me into the person I am today and the support they gave, I never got at the charity shop. Is there any particular reason you're looking at the British heart foundation? I'm on my travels home at the moment but will definitely come back to this to try responding properly, as I did have a good 2/3 months.
@@M_zenin You can always ask at your local charity shop if you have one or go on the internet and find a charity shop you want to volunteer for and apply through the charity’s website.
I'm trying to apply for oxfam for volunteer work because I want to gain skills, confidence and experience!! I'm 16 and autistic, hopefully I can get through this ❤ I'm so excited to meet new people and make friends
