Thanks for sharing, every time I go out, I'm picking up trash. Put a 24 lb Watersnake on my 14 Hornbeck with a 50 AH lithium-ion battery. Top speed is 4.4 mph with a 9-mile range at that speed. Pretty amazing. As you probably already figured out, boat trim can make a big difference in max speed.
Can you turn the handle to the opposite direction? For example, if you wanted to put motor in the middle of a kayak and steer from the the front of the seat?
I used it for about 3 trips before putting it on a charger (in case it died). I'll be testing it soon in an upcoming video to see how it does in the local river with more water current
I agree. I found putting the motor depth just enough under the water to keep cavitation from happening gave best speed. Putting it deeper in the water slowed the canoe down.
Excellent top speed and the difference between 1 and 5 are equally distributed. Great motor!

Unfortunately no. The only way you might be able to do that is to run it in reverse, but it's pretty slow in reverse
How long does the battery last?

@@HolmesOutdoors Great video man. What charger do you use?
Do you run it without a short circuit connection
You know that the handle extends right?
Just ordered mine, check out some extendable canoe outriggers for a very stable fishing platform. Great video.
Bro the handle extends
Great review, thank you.
What Marine battery did you buy for the Minn Kata C230?
EverStart Lead Acid Marine & RV Deep Cycle Battery, Group Size 24DC (12 Volt/690 MCA) www.walmart.com/ip/180350522
Acid lead are heavy. I plan to get the lithium for my trolling so less weight on my canoe
The handle extends.
Pull it to you.
The motor really just wasn’t into him enough to extend fully like that
😁😉
What type of battery ?
I'm currently running an EverStart marine battery. Less than $90 at Walmart. It runs fairly decent, but the battery seems to draw down rather quick

Good video but i can't understand why you didnt board from the dock? Lol
That'd be too easy lol
Just cringing thinking of the bottom of that canoe getting all scraped up :)
I'll be adding a "canoe cart" to my setup soon to avoid having to drag it
That what I was thinking. I've got the exact same canoe. It won't last long dragging in on that concrete
You don’t have to put the motor so deep
I agree. I found putting the motor depth just enough under the water to keep cavitation from happening gave best speed. Putting it deeper in the water slowed the canoe down.
ты чё не русский?
hi, what kind of battery are you using?
