JUSTIN CARFAGNINI I really wanted to show how powerful it is and if it's for one or two or three people or even 4 you don't need anything more powerful, at least that's what I think and see
You did an excellent job of portraying that. Most all of the other videos I watched people were out by themselves or not in a similar type craft I am looking to use it on. Appreciate your review and taking the time to show! Cheers!
JUSTIN CARFAGNINI I always try to do my best to show end to describe you might see my couple other videos I do really show important things. What gets me is when people write reviews for something that they just received and they say we just got it looks nice didn't test it yet or didn't try it yet I just don't understand that
@@intruderIG , I see your point, however, this video and your lovely family showed me 90% of what I need to know about this troller. I'll find other reviews that will provide the rest; and I'll bet they don't load a 14' aluminum boat to the max and motor across a lake with it. Great review from the true heart of America! Thank you.
Thanks for the informative review !!! Need to add one to my 14’ Alumnacraft jonboat. Beautiful family n gr8 to see you all enjoying the time together 👍
I really like the minn kotas. I had a 30lb thrust on an intex excursion 4 that used to do really well even in some open water. I also found the power center battery box very useful. I even charged my cell and other devices with it such as my marine radio.
I haven't taken it to the open water because I have 1969 Johnson 10 horsepower. But I do have a battery or power station Box which I love.I love that marine radio idea.
In case you're still not impressed, after watching this video, remember, The Rule of Thumb says 1HP = 22 lbs. of thrust. At 45 lbs., this motor is equal to a bit over 2HP. So if you think of it in context to a small outboard, you'll see this motor keeps up quite well. Nice video. Thanks for showing us ilhoG. -b
Power is work done per unit time, and thrust is just a force. They cannot be readily converted to one another. The power output of the motor can be directly correlated to the power draw on the battery, which Minn Kota states to be 42 amps at 12V, or about 500W. Assuming some inefficiencies, this motor is outputting around half of a horsepower.
Was so useful your video test about this electric engine, me I buy a 46 and I can't wait to install it on my fiberglass dinghy and to make a video with the test, I subscribe to your channel 👍
Thank you for your video. I don't know what I am doing, but I want an electric motor for my canoe. After watching this, I don't think I need a Max. I am going to get what you have, but what else do I need to buy? Is this a special battery? I suppose I need a mount too.
You are welcome. There is nothing special except the Power Box that battery goes in.I highly recommend that. Battery I purchased at Walmart for about $80 over 3 years ago and still ha e the same one. I check button on power box and showes me if I have to charge it.I maintain it on charger or even trickle charger. Never set a battery on a concrete while storing it.It will drain it faster.

Hi, Thank you for the video on the 45 lb thrust motor. It helps me decide to get it over 55 lb. A lot of people complaining on Amazon that after a few months of idle time or in storage, the motor is not working. Or the battery is failing or fire hazard. Are your motor and battery still working? Thank you.
Years later all working like new.Trickle charge battery watch water level.and don't worry about it. If you neglect it no matter what you buy it will be seasonal thing.
Just an idea, but there are free apps for your phone with GPS speeds. Would have been nice to show us what the ACTUAL speed you were going was. My guess. 4mph. OMG, that is fast. Why is nobody wearing life vests since they could fall out at such high speeds.

That is about 0.6 horse power . If you live in an area with fish that is all you need . I live an area that has more boats than fish so I travel 20 miles to catch nothing . .lol now you can say you don't need all that power to catch nothing, you can do it with 0.6 horse powerand and save your money.
