I have this exact same issue with mine, I’ve thought many times I was going to destroy my holster or light getting it out, my entire unit carry’s the same weapons with the same optics, same lights, same holster number mine is the only holster that does it.
Check your retention screw, but you have a gen5 Glock in a holster that is designed for Glocks 1-4, l bought a 6390 RDS and a 6354 DO for my Glock 17 gen5 with a red dot and it fits like a glove without any modifications.
The 7360 holster from safariland is also made for Gen 5 Glocks. I used their holster finder and put in my exact set up (gen 5 g45 with a TLR 1HL) and the 7360 is one of the “duty holster” options
You may have the incorrect holster. These holsters are weapon and light specific. I always call in my orders to Safariland to ensure I get the right holster.
They are not light specific. Safariland uses the same holster mold for lights. This holster should fit any light up to a Modlite PL350. That TLR-1 should fit just fine.
No. These series of optics ready, light bearing holsters are notoriously tight. It takes a solid week or two of draws to smooth it out enough to be usable.
@@crosspointholsters1636 The 7360 is, in fact, not light specific. There's no reason for it to be light specific as none of the retention mechanisms in the holster require the light to be on the gun to work.
User error and failure to adjust. Also really works so much better if you use your thumb to push down on the holster as you are removing the weapon. Make it all one smooth move, nothing like whatever it is you’re doing there!
U either have the wrong holster from Safariland for your Glock or you should try actually wearing your belt the right way as well as having a thigh strap on. Or even better yet it may be a combination of all of those 😂
Check it for a retention screw. Some retention holsters have those as a passive form of retention, making it harder or easier to draw the gun depending on how you adjust it.
Looks like you got the one for the tlr7 and not the one for the surefire x300. The one for the surefire x300 is the one one that fits the tlr1 light that you have on your glock.
Other than the holster tension Something else I noticed Where are your belt keepers ??? Wouldn't that help anchor the duty duty to your pants belt to get rid of the slack in the duty belt 🤔, I always wear a keeper on both sides of the holster to help anchor it to my pants belt, IMHO.
check your Glock is the correct gen w the exact model light as stated on the holster either your light is wrong or your Glock gen is wrong or both. it's hyper specific
Could be a gen 5 22. My department just bought new Glock 22s and no one told us the slide is thicker than the gen 5 9mm models and the previous generation Glock 22s. So we also had to get all new holsters.
Me and another Officer are having the same issue with ours. I believe mines the Streamlight causing the issues. If I put my X300U on the weapon it's smooth as silk.
The holster seems to be cut for an optic as-well. Id say this is definitely a repurposed or miss-ordered holster. Possibly for the wrong model gun or wrong type of light
Yup, I had the same issue as well. I had the same model for my department but fit for a nightstick light which worked just fine. But when I bought the holster to go with my Tlr-1 HL, I had that sticking issue where it was very difficult to draw the weapon. Unfortunately with those new models, they do not have adjustable tension. I ended up returning it and going with the older 6360 model for my Glock 17 gen 5 with Tlr-1, which has a looser fit and has the ability to adjust the tension. The Safariland customer service did not have any suggestions other than saying it shouldnt be doing that. Being Law Enforcement I need a holster that I know will draw smoothly, which is why I had to return that 7365 series holster. Figured I'd put my experience since it seems many others are dealing with the same thing I was.
If you read the literature that came with the holster, it details that the holster WILL be tight to start with, and that you essentially need to break it in with your gun.
Because it’s a gen5 glock. I had the same issue with my dept issued firearm. They tried to upgrade my sidearm to gen5 from gen4 but it didn’t fit in my gen4 holster, so I just kept my gen4. Everyone who got the gen5s in our dept, had to get new level 3 holsters prior to getting the new weapons.
@@jackieyuen5509I'm pretty sure the only difference between the 7360 and the 7365 is that the 65 comes with a high ride UBL and the 60 comes with a mid ride UBL
I have this same holster. It’s actually for the Glock 17 gen 5. If you have an after market slide gen 4 it will do this. I put my Gen 5 slide back on it and it worked to perfection
Definitely need to tighten the belt up and then check the retention screw. Lastly , is it the right holster. Plus it looks like mid- low ride would run a leg strap
Loosen the retention screw and it should lock and not be so tight I have a 6360 used from my local dept when they had Gen 4 Glock 23’s and it fits my Gen 5 Glock 17 just fine it’s a non light and non RDS sight but works well
I had the same thing happen with a gen 5 Glock 17 but it fit my Glock 45 MOS just fine. I still don't know what causes this issue. I went with the 6390 rds and I have no issues.
The holster is a good holster. And it works with gen 4 and 5 17 or 22 glocks. However, it sucks if you are using a TLR 1s or TLR 1 HL. It works fine with the Olight valkyrie pro, Olight mini, Olight baldr S, and the TLR 7.
Fix your duty belt, never good to test your holster if it’s flopping on everywhere. You need belt keepers and need to tighten it. From the looks of it the holster seems fine!
Probably someone already mention, but other than getting the right holster and tightening the belt, you should also have proper form when gripping the gun inside the holster. That's a common mistake that one should practice a lot of dry firing on.
I found that TLR 1 is just too wide for the Safarilands. Mine does this as well. Try it without the light, then ditch the Streamlight. Surefire is the way to go anyway
Is the pistol a 17 or a 22? I ordered the same kind of holster for my 22 Gen 5. Had the same issue. After contacting Safariland and Glock I found the 22 is .06" wider than the 17. Hope this helps.
Try a leg drop holster it has enough retention and does not move. I had similar issue with glock 17 as well. after several hundred draws it has loosened quite a bit but i did notice it is quite stiff from the factory. it almost felt as it did not fit
The holster is not for that specific gun and light. The belt is loose and the drawing of the gun is angled it should be 90 degree draw for a duty holster like that. If you are an LE or a gun enthusiast you know this by now.
Its the light ive had the same issues with the Streamlight TLR-1, and Olight weapon lights. I haven't had any issues with Surfire X300 series or Streamlight TLR-7/9 series.
Two very likely problems here. The gen5 glock currently does not fit gen 1-4 holsters. Number 2, check the retention screw on the back, and also make sure the holster model can fit what y'all have.
Try it without the light. If that doesn’t work, check the retention screw. Holsters with light adapters are very specific, so make sure that your holster is exactly specific with the gun and light. Never had a problem with these holsters such as these unless I had the wrong light option.
tighten the belt and secure it to the under belt, grip the weapon correctly, rotate the holsters cant back so its not arched forward, part of the locking mechanism and release is the proper grip and angle of weapon on the draw and you are to far forward, (at one point i had one where i had to push down and rock it back before i could lift it out freely and easily) check the retention screw, verify you have the right model of gun and flashlight set up. an x300 and a tlr 1 are different brands and measurements and even lesser known gen 4 and gen 5 glocks are millimeters different which will affect the retention and draw on kydex specific holsters. Judging by the clothing you working in admin or a detective so unless the department is strict on requirements you might be able to get away with a different holster or a custom kydex
Believe it or not the led lights do have impact on the tension and draw if they didn't date it for a specific light that is slightly wider or thicker I mean we are talking fractions of nothing even on one spot of the light.
Common issue with Gen 5 Glock and TLR-1. The rail on the Gen 5 is 0.030" taller and the TLR-1 is already bigger than the X300. The holster will work fine with either light and a Gen 4 Glock.
Ok so i did realize this about this holster it was "stiff" the first 100 or so draws it tends to loosen up, his belt is extra loose and it really really gets smooth with the safariland leg holster it has enough retention to hold the holster in place
Tuck your elbow into your side and move the holster forward to just forward of your 3 o’clock position, your draw stroke isn’t even so the front of the pistol wants to drag.
my 47 calls for this holster and the hood was tight on mine and my instructor notice the little piece of plastic was not allowing it to go all the way down. once remove it’s worked as it should
Judging by the scratch down the slide of the slide it’s too much retention. “Holster wear” typically (99% of the time) wears the edges of the slide there should never be scratches on the side from holstering/re-holstering
Mines did same after about 4 months of having it U COULD JUST PULL THE PISTOL OUT, they sent me a new ALS REPAIR KIT HAVNT TRIED IT YET with the new one BUT AT FIRST IT WAS TIGHT ASF AS WELL when I got the holster. It a p320 but i have a military issued M17 with tlr-1 hl

Firstly check if that holster is for gen3-4 or gen 5 because there is a difference and it might be a reason. Secondly check the retention screw and adjust it. Thirdly use a piece of sandpaper and grind an inner retention part a bit. You can also use some dry lubricant for the cap and lever. I wish to find a better holster but due to my muscle memory and department policy I can’t use anything else 😢
That is happening exactly with my holster but for a SIG P320. I should have returned the holster but I just use something else now. And yes I loosened up the attention screw all the way
My guess is somebody didn't make sure they ordered the correct model
