I have found that the ghost physics that innately exist in the net nodes are more than enough to get the nets to spread out easily. Also, the more nets you stack on top of each other the ‘strength’ of the ghost physics increases.
the net anchor works as a winch aswell and you can effectively make them bigger by winching them out with seperate buttons. i do want to add however, this is by far the best designed trawler + new net combo ive seen this patch, nice build! ill deffo be trying it out
thank you, im making a fishing trawler for career but i have limited space for the whole system so my net is really small, i hope this improves my boat!!
you can make them big with having one side (line) far away, and the neighboring lines crossed, tha last one also stretched out. this gives you a "twisted" square
Thank you for being maybe one of two content creators that actually explains how to do things and what’s going on. Content community for this game is horrid when it comes to tutorials and your are great !
Hey I’m a noob, is there any easy way to drop fish from your net? Without making micro controllers? I’m really bad at making them and prefer to make creations without them? Any help would be greatly appreciated I’ve been struggling for awhile…
@@CaptainCockerels thanks, I figured it out because my build had two assemblies and I was putting my button on the first assembly instead of the second. Which is what the net was apart of.
Couldn't you add fins to the winch assembly to adjust the positioning under water? Thus giving the ability to pull the nets further away from the boat or adjust the net depth?
Hello guys, I watch this tutorial and make all that is in the video. but something went wrong and I have electrical cables instead the nets. How can I make cables to nets?
A big part of the game is making microcontrollers. In order to make the nets you're going to need microcontrollers. How do you propose: extending, retracting, and emptying the nets without micro controllers?
@CaptainCockerels ii get that, but its still not "basics" i managed a huge net off the back of a tiny boat on a boom. No micro controllers needed, i just linked the extend/retract/release to buttons.
For you. It's overly complicated for you. And that's fine. The point of this game is it is the complex engineering game. There are plenty of other easier games.
I think it’s not complicated enough. There are significant restrictions on the minimum size of blocks because of all the basic number and Boolean logic nodes included in addition to composite nodes. If every component in the game exported to a composite signal, it would be better for many, but not as beginner friendly.

@@danielk9906 might try that, thanks
Thanks, this was very helpful
man i wish i was this good at stormworks
The more you build the better you get!!

Thanks for another amazing tutorial captain
how did you make the nets in the beginning
Thanks for this! Very helpful! Though it always gets to me when they call it a "microcontroller" and it's a meter long. :D

You can just use a toggle button. But, it is always best to learn how to make microcontrollers.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you try to connect a fishing net to more than four pylons?
A black hole will appear and swallow everything 😉
It will not draw the rope logic. It will just spawn without the net.

You can.
Cap, will you do the tutorial about the sonar?
Probably not
ty for this is it a good day for you?
Super helpful! Any tips on why my game lags now? 😩
im sorry but can you explain how i can set up my fishing nets and fish finder in greater detail
What specific question do you have?
@@Vulcy i was just kidding, captain knows😄
It wont let me update my custom microcontroller does anyone know how to fix that?
What is a blank node I can't find them
You make one yourself. Just go to the microcontroller top right. And name one blank if you'd like.

Also the tutorial is great
I placed the el. cable anchor, could this make it wrong?
You need to place the net anchor
@@CaptainCockerels I placed net anchors, but I meant about the cable anchor, that connect the rope between torpedos
Maybe I can send you screenshots by the mail
how do i get the blank micro conttroler?
Click on microcontroller in the top right and name it blank.
Did.. did we really get fishing before sailing? wtf
We somehow got SPACE before fishing too...
Space was before fishing on the poll. They said they had already worked on sails an may come back to them.
@@CaptainCockerels that's my point
@@firefalcon3086 👍
Did all that for the guy too use a custom controller. Ik nothing about micro controllers or anything
?
great but its not basic lol. got some for ACTUAL basics. i.e small boat, no MC?

@@mitchellsheridan5252 I agree I would like much more complexity.
