McCarver was a good guy. He worked with the Mets for many years. He was always pleasant and endearing to Ralph Kiner and Fran Healey in the booth. I can remember his respect for Kiners career and how gracious he was in his appreciation of Kiners stories about his playing days and his ability to let Kiner embrace his audience. I will always remember Mccarver affectionately calling Fran Healey....."FRANCIS". Yes..there were times when I felt Mccarver was overstated and times when I thought he was too embraced to the Cardinals organization to be a Mets announcer.....but that's understandable....since his greatest years were in St Louis and he had great relationships with the greatest players in that organization. It's sad to see him go. He had good intentions and that's one of the things that make for good people. He was knowledgeable about the game. He tried to teach the game in the booth and have fun while doing so. I sometimes fail to realize that everyone gets older. I hadn't heard about him in years and I applaud him for his service to the game of baseball.
I just remember aways hearing his input in games as a kid , didn't really know much about him , but looking back on it , what a legend and person truly will be missed
These 2 together were fun to here when calling baseball games...it's like a baseball duo when it come to calling playoff games, fun, funny, realistic and special...it was fun so thank you Joe and Tim, like the voice of baseball
He was also quite the honorary Toronto Blue Jays announcer too. How I enjoyed his work with Sean McDonough in the 1992 and 1993 World Series with CBS. God rest Tim McCarver's soul.
Whhaaat? I am so sorry to hear this. He was one of those guys on tv and radio, no matter what the sport was, you could hear his voice well after the game was over. Sad to hear. My thoughts and prayers for his family. God Bless
Without Tim in the booth, baseball is missing something important. Always there with a great anecdote to showing little boy excitement, he never failed in his announcing baseball. I will miss him for sure. I just learned of his passing and know I will miss him for all time.
Since Joe Buck is on ESPN, why can’t he do baseball commentary? I know he does Monday night football but still he could still do baseball for Sunday night baseball night.
I think it’s his choice to not call baseball games anymore. He definitely could have done a playoff series for espn radio or tv but I think he’s happy doing just football.
@@lemmiwinks09 I mean I guess but at least he could still do some baseball games on ESPN doesn’t matter whether it’s regular games or playoff games but yeah I know he’s doing great in football but we’ll see if he can get a chance if ESPN let them do baseball
Way to go asking these softball questions ! I knew the politically correct answers to almost all these questions before Joe Buck began to answer them. Scott Van Pelt probably spent last than 5 minutes preparing for this "interview".
I am a True fan of The New York Mets and during The 80’s and early 90’s and back then the Broadcast was Ralph Kiner and Tim McCarver did all of The New York Mets Games in my younger years and I would watch them with my grandfather who was a big Mets Fan… back in the 80’s my grandfather wrote him a letter he wrote back and sent And autograph baseball card of his I still have it with my collectible memorabilia
IT JUST WON'T SEEM LIKE BASEBALL WITH OUT MR TIM HE WAS GOOD AT WHAT HE DID HE WAS BASEBALL HE WAS A FRIEND TO ALL WE FANS HAVE SIT BACK AND WATCHED AND HEARD THE SWEET VOICES BUT WHEN THEY LEAVE US OUR HEARTS ARE BROKE IVAN FROM ILLINOIS.
Has SportsCenter reached out to Sean McDonough (who like Joe Buck, currently works for ESPN)? He and Tim McCarver were the lead broadcast team for CBS from 1992-93. McDonough actually replaced, Joe Buck's dad, Jack as CBS' lead play-by-play announcer.
I wish SVP got Deion Sanders on the show to reflect on Tim McCarver. That way Deion wouldnt be walking around with a bucket of ice water sayin "Where's McCarver??" Deion is a real man, alright

You knew it was big game when Joe Buck and Tim McCarver were calling it.
Whether it was Fox Saturday Baseball, The NLCS/ALCS, or the World Series.
That was my childhood. Joe and Tim were on every Saturday afternoon and every October night in my house. A baseball legend.
Absolutely I always love hearing them.
i grew up on those 2 and learned the game because of these 2
Man time goes by so fast…..
That baseball duo was no1 in my book

My late uncle was one of Tim’s youth coaches in Memphis. Every time he came through Memphis he would call and catch up with him. Genuinely a nice guy.
The John Madden of baseball. Legend.
you just insulted John Madden.

Just awesome 👏 Mhsrip 👊🏾🙏 What a pair with Joe buck
I will always remember him as an announcer for my Mets his call with Ralph Kiner & Fran Healy. I will miss him calling ballgames
Respect Buck for saying “It’s not about me”
Loved him with Ralph Kiner announcing Mets games on WOR Channel 9 back in the day

I miss him calling baseball games. He should be doing Sunday night baseball games. He’s better than what they have now.
I used to love him on MLB on CBS and fox
I'm not even a baseball fan😕 but I really liked and appreciated this segment, great job ESPN. Rest in peace Tim 🙏🏿 🪦✌🏿 😌 😇

@@billzardus95 What controversial questions involve Tim McCarver?
@@jimbrown5070
Doesn't need to be controversial as long as
the answer isn't so obvious.

rest in power tim mccarvar 🙏🏿♥️
What does that mean, genius ?
🤦🏾♂️
@@billzardus95 sorry you'd rather worry about wat im saying than showing love to a legendary powerful announcer. So may a very powerful man rest
Yeah.... Mccarver's "work" with Deion Sanders was epic... !

No doubt, but ya gotta dumb it down for the uninitiated. Unfortunately that’s the way it must be done these days.
