To those confused with Hippolyta's line "You may never return". It doesnt mean that Diana cant go back because of some silly Amazon law or she cant find Themyscira again because its invisible. Hippolyta is having fear and separation anxiety, fear that Diana might lose against Ares and die, and if she survives, Hippolyta knew that her daughter will embrace the life of a superhero in the outside world, facing countless dangers. Diana may never be the same daughter that she protected for more than 5000 years.

I was genuinely impressed by Gal Gadot's acting in the scene with her mother. It made me view her differently as an actress and made me angry that people like her never get the chance to show their acting chops in other movies.

This whole sequence of events…it’s yet another facet that makes Wonder Woman one of my favourite superhero movies, and it’s all down to Patty Jenkins’s direction and Gal Gadot’s perfect performance.
Diana slowly discovering more about her strength and her powers, her reactions ranging from shock to confusion to amazement to fear to excitement to ultimately wonder…and when she leaves her home with Steve, her justifications to her mother, Diana’s sheer resolve, wisdom, nobility and compassion…it all shines through perfectly because of the dialogue and Gal’s delivery.
I watched this movie last year during October and I still get chills from this scene where Diana is willing to step forward into the unknown with the desire to help others.
I like the fact that she was screaming in fear ,makes her relatable

I hope that the queen means it when she says "MAY never return" because there's still hope that Diana CAN return to Paradise Island someday. The sword may not have been the godkiller but at least it was useful during her quest. Diana herself was what the world needed to stop evil.

Superman's powers were more biological considering he could use them since was a kid. Its opposite for diana since she didn't perform her powers until she was older. Biologically she's a demigod. Why is that?

It was implied by her aunt early in the movie that she holds back, she has so much potential but she doubts herself and always holds back. However, once she actually sees what she’s capable of she doesn’t hold back as much anymore.

I didnt like how easily Diana was exiled what would have been better imo is if these three things happened
1.Diana returns home and tell her Mother that Ares is dead
2. She confronts hippolyta and asks why her mother lied to her all her life about her being the daughter of Zeus
3. Tells Hippolyta that she fell in love with Steve and that he sacrificed himself to stop Ares evil plan.
Hassnain Ali she wasn’t exiled exactly, that’s just how magic islands work. If you leave you might not find the way back. Of course with Diana’s powers it’s likely she chose to stay away to fight in Steve’s memory.
Maybe we see her return someday.
But this way exile is her choice and it's the price she pays for the decision to help people, showing that doing good is never easy. If her exile results from her association with Steve then a) it is not her choice, it's a result of a man in her life. and b) WW was always a soldier of love, it would be out of theme for her to be punished for it.

I don't like the idea of her being exiled because of being in love with a man. In the cartoons she's exiled because she chose to bring men (the Justice League) to the island in a crises. I think it's best to have it because she believes there needs to be engagement with man's world, unlike the Amazons who shut themselves of.
