I swear my postpartum nurse with my oldest was an angel straight from heaven! She came in the room after like hour 3 of my inlaws visiting and must have seen the misery in my face, and she told them they needed to leave, cause baby needed to eat and I needed rest. When my MIL said she'd stay I could feed him with her there the nurse told her she would leave or be escorted by security. I could have hugged her right then!
@@JexxiMae I just had my youngest (and last) babies in March at the beginning of all this virus stuff in my area, and not having visitors was definitely nice in the hospital! Now I'm even angrier at my hospital. They made me lay there for 3 hours in the position I gave birth waiting for the Dr to stitch me up before allowing me to pee. I was in so much pain from needing to go, and now I learn that it was dangerous too!
Yahni Harper it’s not necessarily safe for you to get up and pee before being stitched either! Those stitches are incredibly important. I can’t imagine a scenario that they’d allow you to pee before being stitched honestly.
not pregnant, never had a baby, but i LOVE these videos for some reason lmao so here i am. it doesn’t hurt to be prepared 😂😂 i found you through your “labor nurse wants you to know” video!
I keep buying baby stuff because I need to be OVERLY prepared lol. Just bought bottles and soap today and I'm nowhere near being pregnant. I also have enough baby clothes for both genders up until 6 months lol.
Same! I badly wish for a baby. But my boyfriend (7yrs together) isn't ready yet. So annoying! And then there are couples together for a year already going for a baby.... Anyways, I watch so many videos nowadays with information and all! Also have my first childs first outfit already together and it's first stuffed animal... Now waiting for my S/O to get ready to start a family...
I’m sorry, I know this is very important information, but I’m cracking up listening to your cute dog snoring!! Lol! But seriously, this is good information for women, thank you!
I gave birth to my first child 3 weeks ago. my l&d nurses were saints during labor, delivery, and postpartum! They helped me through some very undignifying moments, especially in my postpartum room.. I had stood up and leaked all over the place through my diaper. I couldn't stop myself and tried walking to the bathroom. I was peeing (and bleeding) all over the floor and I felt so disgusting and I couldn't even bend down to clean it up. I wanted to just cry. My nurse was so sweet and reassuring through the whole thing. She helped clean me up constantly, hooked me up with stool softener, pain medication, and instant ice packs (which were an invaluable part of my initial healing process). You guys are the real MVPs!!
I didn't realize why peeing was so important! I feel kind of bad now, because I was an asshole to my nurse who keep pushing me to pee. I thought she was rushing me because she had somewhere to be. Man.
Omg my boyfriend is right next to me snoring and I really wasn't sure if he was just snoring extra tonight 🤭 lol thank you for the comment, I feel a little less crazy haha
I had the best postpartum nurse the second time around. She was great care wise and had a good since of humor. When I went to get up alone she said "Nooooo! It's too much paperwork if you fall."
By my 3rd baby I did both of accepting help (and even asking immediate family for help) by bringing a meal when we got home but also specifically asking family to not come to the hospital and wait until we were home for a couple days to meet baby. That may seem harsh to people but the thought of people visiting gave me extreme anxiety my entire pregnancy. I hated it when I had my first 2, it didnt allow me to sleep when I needed because we had so much company, it made me uncomfortable to try to breastfeed when it was painful and I was trying to figure it out and honestly didnt wear much of a bra the first 2 weeks, and also the hormonal changes and mama bear kicked in and I felt so mad when family, especially step parents, would hold my newborn for such a long time and not hand them back right away because I felt like my baby belonged with me. That was the best decision i made!! The best postpartum period (mentally) I've ever had. I was able to heal, rest, and enjoy that time with my new baby, my other 2 kids, and my husband. Also, I accepted help via when people stopped by (mainly my mom or MIL) theyd do my dishes or offer to do my laundry, or help fold, or my MIL even offered robpock up our dirty laundry and drop it off folded and clean since it was during the no visit times. Also, we got a few meals dropped off to us by family, the sweetest was once again my MIL who came ghe first day we were home with a hot meal and stopped by for less than 5 minutes to see the kids and left to give us our privacy. Some family got offended by my choice, but in the end I was so glad I did, taking care of yourself helps your baby!
I totally agree. Due with baby 5 here on Monday and we have become more and more removed... The good news is it gets less exciting for the family with each child so we get less visits... Lol.. I now know I need not offer to visit a family without primarily coming to help where she needs, bringing meals, etc. And never expect to even see mom... She needs lots of rest!
Me 2, I would not want my room fill with visitor after visitor, I want to rest period. Especially for moms that have Csection, its very tired from all the meds and pain afterward. They can visit after a month of deliver 😀😀😀😀
Michelle J love this idea! I am currently pregnant with my first & am really worried about getting alone time with baby & husband right after delivery. I may have to do this!
GENTLE?! I swear, that “massage” was more painful than having my son in the first place. NOT looking forward to it with the second baby in a few months 😅
I’ve been an L&D/postpartum nurse for 2.5 years and I LOVE these videos. I love the way you explain things. I’m always looking for “down to earth” ways to explain things to my mommas and you did a great job!
Savannah Verderber omg I swear that has to be the most terrifying part of when I give birth. I have IBS so that’s not a comfy thing for me as it is. I’m dreading having to experience it after I give birth lmao
I passed gas right in her face when my awesome nurse was moving my legs after I had my epidural. I was horrified. She didn't blink an eye. 😁😁 y'all r awesome.
I have four dogs. I know that sound in the background. That's your sweet pooch snoring. LOL!! I am past pregnancy years, and I have NO clue why UA-cam suggested your videos, but I love them.
I wish I could literally hug you. I’m due with my first child in July and I’m absolutely TERRIFIED of both labor and delivery and postpartum and this helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Definitely adding this to my watch later list!
Hey Bailey! I’m due in July and believe me I’m terrified same as you! I can’t wait till I see my baby girl, but when I start to think about postpartum and delivery I’m thinking to myself WHAT HAVE I DONE! lol 😂 it’s scary and I’m still not sure about Epidural! Because I’m terrified of needles.
Girl don't you worry about it. I was SO worried about labor and delivery but my labor and delivery was easier than my pregnancy. Postpartum though has been kicking my ass 😭 Make sure you continue to take your prenatals after birth and ask your doctor about any other supplements you can take. Your body will thank you
I'm due in July too! I am in the naive first time mom state and am in "let's do this mode!" I oddly cannot wait. I will be so confident after lol. Like yup, look at me, I just gave birth I can do anything.
My most favorite compliment I’ve ever had my entire life was my postpartum nurse telling me I had the uterus of a 2 months pregnant woman, 8 hrs after a hard labor & delivery. Haha I asked her for a hug. 👏🤩
i had one of the worse cases of PUR (postpartum urinary retention) my hospital had. 3 months of a sleeping bladder. having my second in 3 weeks and I'm praying it doesn't happen again. but absolutely nothing compared to the kindness of my postpartum nurse during the endless tries to the bathroom. nurses are angels.
My postpartum nurse was so mean getting me out of bed the first time I felt like I was going to pee the second I stood up and she yelled at me and said I better not. I hope more nurses are like you and supportive not rude like the nurse I had she didn’t care about my needs at all
I'm glad you mentioned the thing about stitches. I've always wondered why I hear so many stories about not being told the number of stitches - what you said definitely clears things up and makes me feel better!
I have 6 kids and want to say u r amazing and I wish to be able to have u as my nurse and u r saying such important info that know no one talks about. thank u
Its been 14 years since I've had a baby, and I can STILL feel the relief from using the Tucks pads on top of your pads, and when you pull those suckers up, its like NIRVANA/ECSTASY
Tucks are the best! Have ten jars at home! 35 years later, I asked my husband if I pooped during labor...he said only with number 1 and they wiped it immediately. Never knew LOL
All these videos are so helpful! I’m not a first time mom, but there’s a few years between our first and soon to be second. I really hope that my nurses are as lovely as you are🧡
I was the one who didnt really want any visitors after having a baby. For 1 the room was tiny and there was hospital staff coming in and out and, 2 i was new to breastfeeding and its important to get the hang of it soon after birth if you want it to work out. If it were up to me i wouldnt have even told anyone my baby was born until we were home but, my husband told his mom and she told the rest of the world.
I know what you mean. I wish I had a nurse to have a code for me with my first. I would have rather everyone came at one time for 30 minutes and been done... But people would just come throughout the day and you could never rest!
Why didn't my high school teach me this useful and practical information?...I went to an all girls high school might I add. Thank you for all that you do!
After my c section with my twins, I bled a Lot , and was in recovery for over 12hrs. About an hour later, at 6am, I had to pee and just Went. My nurse came in as I was getting back into bed and was Pissed! I really didn't know that I had to call her, she never told me. I'll spread the word now though. N the "cocktail " worked after my back surgery and I hadn't gone in 6 days. 😅👍🏾
Good tip I learned from a home visit midwife (after giving birth to baby #2) Soak some thick overnight sanitary pads in water and bung them in the freezer to use for postpartum pain management. You can mold them and customise the shape before freezing for maximum comfort!
Omg yesss don’t get up by yourself lol. I felt fine, and when I went to stand up thank god I had two nurses holding on me to help because my legs gave out from under me and felt like jello lol! 😂
With my first I had been cleared to walk but the second time I got woozy halfway between the bed and bathroom there was a huge gush of blood I think I peed myself and fainted. Thankfully it was right before the pediatrician walked in. Currently 36 weeks with number two and I can promise you I’m not getting up birth day without someone in the room. I was so traumatized and embarrassed it took 5 years before I was on board with the idea of doing this again.
love_nyc_ thank you! I was shocked by how much attention that video has gotten, but it seems like there is a real need and interest in videos about childbirth. The more you know the better!
Zabey Baby 2015 Exactly!!! Please keep making birth/hospital related videos. I totally see huge potential in your channel, I can see it becoming big!! 💕
I love that you added post partum depression. I had it so bad with my daughter. And my doctor made sure I was on something this time around just in case
I’ve been asking my friends that have had kids so many preliminary questions because I feel like I know absolutely nothing and don’t know where to start. You popped up on my suggested tab and I’m so glad you did! You’re so thorough and easy to listen to and I so wish you were a nurse in my area!
I have bad anxiety and super stressed about giving birth! You are amazing and give a lot of advice and tips! I pray my nurse is as open and as helpful as you 💖 🤰🏼
I just had my baby boy on Thursday my epidural failed twice the anesthesiologist was so apologetic he said it had never happened to him before and he checked up on us as often as he could I could tell he really felt bad and I assured him it wasn't his fault and thankfully I originally planned on a natural birth so I had some tips and tricks stored in the back of my head. When it came time for me to push I gave it my all I only pushed for 25 minutes! I did unfortunately need an episiotomy and I still ended up tearing more to a 4th degree tear. Afterwards I was bleeding quite heavily and passing very large clots softball to frisbee sized clots but my nurse was absolutely amazing she remained so calm I didn't even know that anything was wrong! She was an absolute angel, so professional yet caring at the same time I couldn't thank everyone at the hospital enough for the care that I received. Although things didn't go as planned and I did end up with a severe tear I still left the hospital being proud and happy with my birth experience!
I found your channel because of a recommended feed while in pursuit of pregnancy test videos. I love the information you give. I just found out I'm pregnant with my first child and in need of information. You have done well so far. Please continue to post. I look forward to more videos. :)
I’m 17 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I loved your part one so I was excited to see you uploaded this! I’m extremely excited to experience it all again but also terrified cause now I know what to expect.
I appreciate these videos. I have some trauma relating to childbirth, I was a much older sibling who experienced a traumatic birth of a younger sibling, and so as I come to consider having kids myself there are a lot of concerns I have. Thank you for sharing information, for being kind and supportive, I know I'm going to have some things to work around and I'm going to have to march to the beat of my own drum in some of this and really find people who can help protect me when I'm in that vulnerable period to defend my choices, but I can be a mom and a really, really good one.
I really enjoyed this video. I'm due with number 2 in 8 days (eek!) and my first is 8. Needless to say I definitely needed a refresher. I cant stress how important it is to not be afraid to ask for help with ppd. I had horrible thoughts of harming myself and my son afterwards but I was so ashamed of them that I never sought help. It took me over a year to fight through some of those feelings on my own since I was unwilling to share with anyone, even my husband for fear of being judged. You are not weak if you have these feelings and there are people who genuinely want to help you. I like to think I'm a bit wiser now and more open to sharing my experiences with my health care team so they are aware that I did had extreme ppd with my first. They know my fears and they've reassured me that they will help with everything, all I need to do is reach out.
Tour the hospital beforehand and ask questions. Most L&D nurses are super nice, however do not be afraid to tell the nurse that they are no longer allowed in your room or near your baby.
I’m so glad you said that an epidural can affect how your brain communicates with your bladder. After having my first baby I couldn’t pee for a long time and one nurse got so frustrated with me, but didn’t explain why peeing was important or tell me that it may not be my fault. I had no idea about that. Fortunately I had no issues with my second baby, but if it happens again when/if I’m fortunate enough to have a third, I will know why!
Yep! I had trouble peeing after my first and fully emptying and have to get a catheter the next day. There are lots of tricks to help you pee (running water, peppermint oil, blowing bubbles in a cup of water) if you have difficulty with your third!
Thank you for this. I am going to watch the first part in your series. I’m scared of labor and delivery but this fear is because my sister lost her best friend a few days after she delivered her son. I’ve already spoken to my Ob about this and she’s eased my anxiety and fear but it’s still on my mind and a bit more now that I’m closer to my August due date. Your video eased my anxiety even more so and I appreciate it so much!! ❤️
Due with baby #2 in october 2019, first was in 2018 via c-section, so im definitely looking forward to your c-section video! Could you include info about vbac/healing tips for c-sections? Loving your videos!
Yes, PPD - love that you spoke on this topic. I spoke with my doctor and the RN's in her office before delivery and let them know about my history with anxiety and they made it a point to see me within two weeks of delivery. Kind of goes with your topic of asking for and accepting help. So important.
I am so glad I found you... I'm 25 weeks along with my fifth child, and I can't thank you enough for all this information! I am not a novice, but I still learnt so much, the encouragement is certainly so appreciated!!
I am due next week with my second child. This was still extremely helpful, informative and you have beautiful energy! I am a nurse but not in labour and delivery. You guys are absolute saints in what you have to deal with. Thank you!!
I'm pregnant with my first and I'm super lost on how everything goes when you go into labor and even after you give birth so this was very helpful thank you!
30 weeks only 19 years old and due June 26 and I enjoy your videos! They answer questions I didn’t even know I had and helps me feel like I’m not going into this totally blind.
My husband and I are thinking about baby #3. However I had a horrible pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum experience with my 2nd child. I had severe morning sickness my entire pregnancy and hypertension my last few weeks. (Blood pressure was 145/100 when I got sent to the hospital) Baby ended up being breach and I had a C-Section instead of the planned induction. Then the nurses in recovery were terrible. One actually made me cry. Because of all this I am not sure about a third; even though I want one.
I’ve been watching your videos since I got pregnant and I’m now 5 months along! I’m so glad I came across your channel because you’ve shared so many helpful tips and lots of great information. Thank you nurse Zabe ❤️🙏🏼
I just finished the labor nurse video lol! I’m due in December and I’m so nervous and scared and excited! It’s my first baby and I’m going to be 20 at the time of birth! Could you make a video of the pros and cons of epidural?
Your videos are so helpful!!!! My 1st grandchild is due in November. I needed a refresher to help my daughter. You are wonderful!!! I wish you could be her nurse!!!!
So for me I had depression and anxiety during pregnancy that completely lifted after giving birth. It was progressively worse with each pregnancy. I could actually feel the weight being lifted once my daughter was born. I feel like this is not discussed much at all. So just thought I would mention it!
Oh wow. Im happy to read that. I've been struggling emotionally during this whole pregnancy (currently 6 months) and I'm hoping it lifts when the baby is born. I Litterally feel like if I allow myself to be happy or get excited about the baby or unclench that he's going to die or something terrible is going to happen.
I had a good friend recently give birth who experienced this! I haven't given birth yet, (about 2 weeks to go!) so I can't speak from personal experience, but that's exactly what she described.
Oh my I feel these comments lol I have so many thoughts go through my head and it doesnt help me a lot to talk about them bc they still come back. I journal and I pray that its lifted once hes here.. I'm in my 2nd trimester as well.
I wish you could be my nurse! 😭 this is my first delivery on my own now that I’m a single mom and I pray I have an amazing nurse like you to help me through it!
This is my first pregnancy and I’m having twins, could you do a video on twin/multiple birth. Your videos have been very helpful and informative and it’s taking off some of that anxiety 😊😊
Wow! Congratulations. !! I had twins in 2015 too. They were my 1st. Baby A was breech and baby B was head down. I had a vaginal birth in a hospital. The most important thing is getting a team of Obgyn and midwives that support you,are well informed and believe in your ability to have your babies. Get a doula too. I pray you have a safe delivery ❤❤❤❤
so i'm a newborn photographer at a few different hospitals and i actually get this ad thats been going around this area for our one hospital that is specifically aimed towards post partum depression and i got it for every ad watching this video haha. i hope this ad allows moms to open up a bit more. :)
No one even mentioned stool softener and i was in the hospital for 5 days didn't end up having to poo until 2 weeks after birth and omg it was horrible 😭😭 felt like birth all over again hurt so bad wish someone had spoke about this to me before hand
On a similar note, no squirt bottles where I'm from, no ice and no witch hazel. Had I gone into deeper research, as I should've, I would've purchased it online before going to the hospital.
I'm due with my second on the 4th of July and even though I've been through it all once (fairly quick natural birth, no complications) it's been 4 years so this is all a nice refresher of it all. Obviously I didn't forget the experience but these videos are putting me a bit more at ease. Thank you! 😊
You literally have my dream job i am 14 years old and ever since i got my first job working at a daycare with infants i new i wanted to work with newborns. It wasn’t until maybe a year ago i realize i wanted to be a L&D nurse. I’ve been binge watching your videos like crazy so i can get a head start. Thank you so much💞
My sister in law is very pregnant right now and asked me to be in the delivery room with her so I've been watching your videos 24/7. What are some things that birthing partners/family should be prepared for? Also, you're so amazing. The amount of knowledge you just give out is outstanding. Thank you.
If you have time you should read the book "The Birth Partner" by Penny Simkin. It is so helpful especially for someone who has never given birth or witnessed one!
I am working on a video for support people, but I recommend the book below and watching some births on UA-cam to get the feel of what might go down. Chat with your sister too and see what she expects from you. Good luck!
Paczadzinka oh you can definitely get through it then! I’m almost done and my husband just started reading it and I’m 32 weeks (baby #2) and it really seems like he is understanding a ton more things this time around so I’m sure it’s going to help you a lot!
Thank you for addressing post-partum depression. I had terrible PPD and anxiety (neither of which I had outside of the post-partum period.) I didn't recognize it until months after and I wish I had gotten help.
Every time I watch your videos I envy the people who get to have you as a nurse. I had an amazing pregnancy and an awful delivery. I had a couple awesome nurses when I first got admitted but I did not receive the care I needed after delivery. I didn’t get any meds, massages, and even help to take a shower. I was given directions to where the shower was and walked myself down the hallway and had to catch myself when I slipped and fell.
I just have to say I love L&D nurses. My nurse actually delivered my son when the doctor was late (a different nurse waited to call the dr since it was my first baby) and after I delivered the cafeteria was closed and my nurse offered me her food she was the sweetest! I had a slightly traumatic birth my dr went into early labor herself and I had a different dr who did not know me well enough, 3 failed epidurals, a forgotten catheter and finally a strong shot of pain meds I had my boy! Lots of small problems but I got the best thing from it. Thank you for being a nurse
I love your videos, they are very interested! About the pooping thing, what I found funny was that after giving birth, I just couldn’t really figure out which muscles had to be used to poop. After all this pushing I just didn’t know anymore lol
I though your puppy was a stuffed animal until he moved lol 😋 thanks for the talk even tho it's my third pregnancy it is always reassuring to know this tips so thank you so much.
What a great video, again! I wish I had seen this before my son was born. When my son was born, my husband was with me for one and a half weeks, but then he had to go back to university for his finals. From 2-10 weeks I had terrible PPD. I felt that I was not good enough to be a mother. After my son was asleep, I would go into another room, curl into a ball and cry because I thought that somebody else should be his mother. I developed an unhealthy mental plan to get him a different mother. Lack of sleep, compounded with having an inverted nipple on one side, and developing mastitis, and thrush didn’t help. It was my lactation consultant who alerted me to the fact that I had ppd, and they had me come in to the hospital twice weekly for lactation consults, which helped a lot, but also helped with ppd to be with somebody positive who cheered me on for the little successes. Once my husband graduated and was back home, he encouraged me to go to the doctor to discuss ppd, I was put on medication and encouraged to seek a therapist, and with the help of my husband, and my mother, got to a point where I was enjoying going out with my son, and couldn’t imagine not being his mother. Looking forwards to having another child in the future, and feel better prepared. But those hormones and emotions post partum are no joke. If anybody is having thoughts that concern them, you are not alone, and help helps! 💕
My due date is two days away and I’ve been super nervous. This video helped me so much and is so helpful. Thank you for posting this, I wish you were my nurse!!!

can u literally deliver my future child?? You are so understanding and kind! I want to be a labor and delivery nurse, and these videos are convincing me to be one even more!
Same haha 😅
Bruhitslillie Cory I feel the same way lol. All the LD nurses who I work with seem so grumpy and unwelcoming
You have the SWEETEST demeanour and I love that you are so open and matter of fact and non judgemental. Keep up the great work!!!
No one ever explained the importance of peeing! That's great to know.
Yes, its so important to empty your bladder to allow your uterus to shrink!

Omg my boyfriend is right next to me snoring and I really wasn't sure if he was just snoring extra tonight 🤭 lol thank you for the comment, I feel a little less crazy haha
Yeah , poor pug can't breath properly, it's distracting and heartbreaking to hear. Good video though.
I had the best postpartum nurse the second time around. She was great care wise and had a good since of humor. When I went to get up alone she said "Nooooo! It's too much paperwork if you fall."
😂😂😂😂🤣
Michelle J You’ve definitely need to do what works for you and your family! So glad you had a good experience excepting help and setting boundaries!
Michelle J on my third baby. Yes to all of this.
I’ve never had a baby and I’m not even *thinking* about having one any time soon, but I love watching these videos
GENTLE?! I swear, that “massage” was more painful than having my son in the first place. NOT looking forward to it with the second baby in a few months 😅
Amanda Welsh lmaooooo
I'm going to try to decline it 🤣🤣
You can decline and if you have a homebirth they wont even attempt to do it.
They do it with c-sections too (so they push right on your incision) and massage is most certainly a “nice” way of putting it lmao 😆
I’ve been an L&D/postpartum nurse for 2.5 years and I LOVE these videos. I love the way you explain things. I’m always looking for “down to earth” ways to explain things to my mommas and you did a great job!
Alyssa Vitale Aw, thanks!
I got goosebumps when you talked about tearing 😭
"Pooping is important and pooping is scary" 😂😂
Anya Winkelman V Being a nurse and a mom, my life basically revolves around poop. 😂💩
Omg....that first poop after giving birth is so traumatizing lol.
It legit is scary! hahah Not looking forward to the first poop once my new baby comes
Pooping was the hardest thing, felt like my muscles werent even working.
“Release it into the world.”
I love you so much.
I wish I could literally hug you. I’m due with my first child in July and I’m absolutely TERRIFIED of both labor and delivery and postpartum and this helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Definitely adding this to my watch later list!
Bailey K you’ve got this mama! 💗💪🏼
Hey you! I’m due with my first child in July too. Everything will go just great. Be well!
Girl don't you worry about it. I was SO worried about labor and delivery but my labor and delivery was easier than my pregnancy. Postpartum though has been kicking my ass 😭
Make sure you continue to take your prenatals after birth and ask your doctor about any other supplements you can take. Your body will thank you
I'm due in July too! I am in the naive first time mom state and am in "let's do this mode!"
I oddly cannot wait.
38 weeks 4 days with baby #2 and I'm glad I found this quick refresher! Thank you for this!
From a nurse to another nurse: Can you be my postpartum nurse, please? You're amazing!
I love that you have a code with your patients for when they need a visitor to leave.
I am so, super grateful that you are doing this wonderful series. You are so sweet and kind. Thank you!
My postpartum nurse was so mean getting me out of bed the first time I felt like I was going to pee the second I stood up and she yelled at me and said I better not. I hope more nurses are like you and supportive not rude like the nurse I had she didn’t care about my needs at all
I love that you mentioned c sections after long labor. That was my experience and I definitely still needed to have all those things. :-)
I'm glad you mentioned the thing about stitches. I've always wondered why I hear so many stories about not being told the number of stitches - what you said definitely clears things up and makes me feel better!
Uggggg I love you !!! I’m so happy you made a part two. I want moreeee, because your so knowledgeable, and comforting!
Oh my goodness, those Tucks pads are the best.
Tucks are the best! Have ten jars at home! 35 years later, I asked my husband if I pooped during labor...he said only with number 1 and they wiped it immediately. Never knew LOL
Morgan Falk us RN’s are trained to just wipe it away and keep going! Haha
Lol i just bought some for my hospital bag
You seem like such a wonderful nurse! I'm so glad that I found your channel and I wish more healthcare professionals were more like you.
Sarah Gloria Ngai but you know algebra now lol
After my c section with my twins, I bled a Lot , and was in recovery for over 12hrs. About an hour later, at 6am, I had to pee and just Went. My nurse came in as I was getting back into bed and was Pissed! I really didn't know that I had to call her, she never told me. I'll spread the word now though. N the "cocktail " worked after my back surgery and I hadn't gone in 6 days. 😅👍🏾
Good tip I learned from a home visit midwife (after giving birth to baby #2)
Soak some thick overnight sanitary pads in water and bung them in the freezer to use for postpartum pain management. You can mold them and customise the shape before freezing for maximum comfort!
Omg yesss don’t get up by yourself lol. I felt fine, and when I went to stand up thank god I had two nurses holding on me to help because my legs gave out from under me and felt like jello lol! 😂
Britt Domanski This is exactly it! Glad you didn’t fall!
Yessss please make more videos like this!!! I love how your other video blew up in views 🙌🏻 ❤️ These are the best types of videos!
love_nyc_ thank you!
I pray my nurse is as open and as helpful as you 💖 🤰🏼

you so lovable ❤ thank you for this video
from South Africa 🇿🇦
👋🏻

I'm 37w4d ftm, and I'm praying my nurses are half as amazing as you!! 😭
Tour the hospital beforehand and ask questions. Most L&D nurses are super nice, however do not be afraid to tell the nurse that they are no longer allowed in your room or near your baby.
You got this mama! 💗💪🏼
I wish you were my nurse. You seem so kind hearted & genuine. Definitely the type of support every pregnant woman needs.
Shannon James Hoping to get it out next week! 😊

Was distracted throughout the video Bc you look a lot like Drew Barrymore.
The sound similar too!!
I thought the same thing!
Similar facial expressions and mouth movements.
I was distracted by the dog snoring in the background rofl! I thought she looked like Drew Barrymore too though lol
Right?!?!?! She seriously does!!!!! I LOVE Drew!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
I love your dog in the background! 😂😍
Thank u 😀 😀👣 👣...my daughter is having her first baby..... I'm granny.... thanks again
Currently 24 weeks with didi twins and am loving these for some actual real talk!
Check out "Business of Being Born" and "Elephant in the Hospital" both on UA-cam
I’m a nursing student and I seriously love your videos!! I want to be a labor and delivery nurse as well 😭

I just love you!! You are the kind of nurse that makes people have a positive view of their birth no matter how it goes.!! 💗
30 weeks only 19 years old and due June 26 and I enjoy your videos! They answer questions I didn’t even know I had and helps me feel like I’m not going into this totally blind.
You are a beautiful soul.
9 weeks with my first baby. Thank you for these videos!!
10 weeks today, first baby!

Moon Oof I second this video idea! I’m having my first child and I’m terrified to have an epidural but not sure if I’ll be able to handle the pain.
Moon Oof I definitely can!
I’m due in December & I’ll be 21!! That’s cool!
I'm due in September and it will also be my first and I will be 20 at delivery. Best of luck!
good luck to you all! 😊 i’m due in November with fraternal twins and i’ll be 25 when i give birth
Thank you so much for this information. As a future mom, so helpful to know what to expect :D
0natasha00 Thank you so much for watching! 💗
Your videos are so helpful!!!! My 1st grandchild is due in November. I needed a refresher to help my daughter. You are wonderful!!! I wish you could be her nurse!!!!
My little girl is due any day now!! Thank you for the great encouragement! God bless you!
So for me I had depression and anxiety during pregnancy that completely lifted after giving birth. It was progressively worse with each pregnancy. I could actually feel the weight being lifted once my daughter was born. I feel like this is not discussed much at all. So just thought I would mention it!
I'm glad you mentioned this- I am currently in the 2nd trimester and feeling this way
@@rorulent yes, its not discussed much. I felt so much better when I got out and about. Hopefully that will help you. Also talk to your dr or midwife.
Im currently 4 months pregnant and watching your videos are so informative! Please keep making more
Check out "Business of Being Born" and "Elephant in the Hospital" both on UA-cam
I wish you could be my nurse! 😭 this is my first delivery on my own now that I’m a single mom and I pray I have an amazing nurse like you to help me through it!
U are one of the best nurse I have ever come through and I wish I could have you as my nurse in my labour room
Can you do a video as what to bring to the hospital?
Ansley Thompson Yes!
Zabey Baby 2015 Cant wait for that!
This is my first pregnancy and I’m having twins, could you do a video on twin/multiple birth. Your videos have been very helpful and informative and it’s taking off some of that anxiety 😊😊
Congratulations on your twins and I pray you have a blessed pregnancy and delivery
I absolutely love these videos! So much information that I didn’t know that also takes away a lot of stress and worries about pregnancy and delivery
No one even mentioned stool softener and i was in the hospital for 5 days didn't end up having to poo until 2 weeks after birth and omg it was horrible 😭😭 felt like birth all over again hurt so bad wish someone had spoke about this to me before hand
You poor thing!! I hand stool softeners out like candy for this very reason.
On a similar note, no squirt bottles where I'm from, no ice and no witch hazel. Had I gone into deeper research, as I should've, I would've purchased it online before going to the hospital.
This is a good overview. I like you and sarah lavonne...that woman cracks me up......
They would seriously be the PERFECT Birth Team, who even needs doctors...
Good luck!
@@The_C_Word we still have a bit over 3 months so I will for sure read through it! Thanks!
Paczadzinka oh you can definitely get through it then! I’m almost done and my husband just started reading it and I’m 32 weeks (baby #2) and it really seems like he is understanding a ton more things this time around so I’m sure it’s going to help you a lot!
Find out her birth plan and make sure it is followed... She is much too busy and tired to keep up
Due in 3 weeks! Thanks for this video im going to re watch at the hospital lol
Raii baee Thanks for watching! I hope your delivery went/goes well! 😊💗
Thank you for addressing post-partum depression. I had terrible PPD and anxiety (neither of which I had outside of the post-partum period.) I didn't recognize it until months after and I wish I had gotten help.
I'm having my 3rd baby, but it's been 12 years since the last. Your videos have helped tremendously! Thank you.
i’ll currently pregnant with fraternal twins and i’m due in November. could you make a video on your experience with twin births please? 😊
I'm also pregnant with fraternal twins. Two baby boys coming in July. I would also love a video about twins since there isn't as much out there.
Brita Frazier congrats on the twins! 💕
Linda Cox-Miller I can!
Zabey Baby 2015 thank you so much! i would really appreciate it 😊
I’m due with Di/Di twin girls in September and I would LOVE a L&D and postpartum twin video!
I cringe at the thought of the uterus massage 😭😂
That part hurts it really does it's so uncomfortable and sometimes nurses are ruff I gave birth 5 times so I had many nurses
I don’t think uterus massage is done where I am.
Charlene Dormady oh really, I figured it should be.
They are excruciating after c section
Mine didn’t hurt 😬🤷🏾♀️
Laure Casanova right?! Everything just feels different in that region directly after birth. It gets better for sure, though! Thanks for watching!
This is so real. I was so scared to poop. Lol.
I though your puppy was a stuffed animal until he moved lol 😋 thanks for the talk even tho it's my third pregnancy it is always reassuring to know this tips so thank you so much.
Klau Pinon Zoë is our lazy pug pup who likes to sleep wherever she can find sun. Thanks for watching! Good luck with your delivery!
@@Nurse_zabe well she is lovely 🐕 thanks again for the good wishes ❤️❤️
