You’re my daily inspiration. I dreamed all my life to own an electric acoustic and when I bought my new generation Yamaha Silent Bass I fell in love with it’s growl that I never got from my particular acoustic. I actually normally play it without an amp. Your tone is awe inspiring. Thank you for reminding us daily of the genius of NHOP. 🙏🎶
This is very good! As an upright bass player myself I can notice the timbre of course is not that close to his, as he is playing an acoustic instrument which he has put in a lot of knowledge to amplify. (Especially in his time, where great upright bass amplification was not readily available) I'm sure your setup is more consistent though :D And your playing is really great, with the three fingers and all, really cool! My teacher had NHØP as a teacher at one point, and my teacher has a lot of focus on the actual acoustic sound of the instrument - when I have mentioned NHØP, my teacher still only praised NHØP as also being an expert in regard to getting the best tone out of the instrument acoustically, something I really wish I had the opportunity to hear! However my teacher also criticizes NHØP pretty heavily because of his change toward electric sound at his later stages - I think it sounds pretty cool and for me all that matters is you find out what you like and play that! :D Thank you for the video!
God this is so cool. Now I want an upright!
Thanks!
YAMAHA SLB300 has great sound!
This is absolutely amazing. The playing, the tone, the precise hand movements. Awesome.
Thank you!!!
