I haven’t seen other places with outboard restriction sizes however 15 hp is the most common and best size in our travels throughout and we never used that power most of the time cheers
Good Morning 😊 Happy birthday Tiff 🎂 Thanks for another awesome video , Awesome Travels and adventure 😊 Greetings And Cheers 🍻 Legends from South Africa 🇿🇦
I believe that Mataranka was converted into what it is today by the Yanks during the war. A little bit further upstream you can see what it would have looked like originally (which is not much). I love that place and Bitter Springs. Happy Birthday Tiff!
Thanks for another great video, we love them. Happy birthday young lady, it seems like yesterday that I last said that. Chloe is such a lovely child and a very refined little human, the little guy is doing OK as well. We were last at Mataranka Springs with a 7, 6 and 4 year old, travelling with a tent.
Another great episode. Catching up after a couple of weeks off grid. I’m reluctant to go down the Starlink route (I’m not a vlogger) and enjoy the quiet. Happy birthday Tiff. 🎉
Just a thought Tiff..... But mayb u could boro Chloe's Whip whenever Cam wants to "drop his Stabilizer Leg"........ hahahahahaaha ps: say Hi to Wattsy for me... :)
Happy birthday, Tiff. We preferred Bitter Springs as we appreciated that it was more natural. We were pleasantly surprised by the Springs in Katherine. We'd been there in 2011 and found them to be muddy and dirty. We were there last year and they've been made to be very nice.
Cougar 😂😂😂 what is there months difference in ages. You can see Tiff looks after herself, because I would of said she was 3-5yrs younger than you 😉😉😉. Great episode as per usual. Yeah NT has a lot of Places like WA. I dunno, I reckon WA's are better. But NT has better roadside facilities. Cheers Mark...
Enjoyed the video 👍🏻 we’re be going to mataranka and bitter springs Kathrine on our way back from uluru…..do you have to book the camp sites you stayed at or can ya just rock up ? Thanks you safe travels guys 🙌🏻
We booked Katherine farm stay a few weeks ahead of time, lucky we did as they were fully booked. Mataranka don’t take bookings, just rock up nice and early to get a spot 🙂
Look in Katherine for photos of the floods. When we were there there w as a photo showing water at the top of a parking sign in the Main Street. Lot of water when you consider the Gorge isn’t that far from the city centre. The gorge tour and sunset cruise were great.
@@WildTouring also if you have time the Yellow Waters croc tour is worth it, on the road to Jabiru which also has (had?) a couple of good parks. The trip to Darwin via Jabiru is good
We arrived in Katherine 2 weeks prior to the big flood. Water was lapping at the bottom of the old rail bridge over the Katherine river. Woolies was 6 foot under. 1 in 200 years flood, flooded again 2 years later.
Outboard motor horsepower is also limited up the Katherine gorge I believe as are a few other rivers. I heard that you can get stickers made that look original that make your motor “look” like a 15hp. Just a rumour mind you😜
True what you say, people expect to much, you all enjoy it for what it is. Thanks for the episode!
Happy belated Birthday Tiff. 🎉🍰 I think your cake went well. Chloe and Brodie did well, oh and you Cam! Lol. Made with love. 🎂

Looks like another great time! Those trips are a lifetime of memories 😊
I bet you there's a 15hp decal pack out there for your boat motor.😉
Happy birthday from Tassie 🎉🎉🎉
Great episode guys. Question, did Chloe call Tiff a cougar and how long are you sleeping in the car for?
😂 lucky I packed the swag too hey!
Happy Birthday Tiff! Looks like you had a great cake. Love Brodies big smiles and Chloe is such a character. Great episode!

Lucky you. Bitter Springs was closed last week due to - you guessed it ! - Crock sightings. Go NT
Yes we heard! Very scary!

Nice place!
Happy birthday Tiff!
Thank you! 😊
Lovely family holiday, happy birthday Tiff🎉
Thanks 😊
Lovely Ep Guys HB boss lady, , Ive never herd of a size limit on outboards, only Electric in some fresh water dams,
Cheers Craig, yeah the first I’d heard of it too. Having a trolling motor would be nice for smaller river systems anyway though!
Looks like a great place Mataranka love your vids 😀
Cheers Frank 😊
We were there today! Think we are just missing you guys on this trip.
Anyway, who knows what the goss is as go why whippy has left mataranka?
Yeah heard he’s left with a bit of controversy, don’t know the full story!
Happy Birthday Tiff from Tanya and Jason. Also Cam I dunno can you get away with an electric motor in restricted HP waterways?
Thanks guys! Yeah electric trolling motor is not a bad idea for those kind of waterways actually!

Gobsmacked by microwave cake…thats my to do list today damn you cam…
Haha will be a bit of a let down after the Italian doughnuts we all devoured last night 😂
@@WildTouring 😂😂😂🤌🤌🤌
Is the there a swimming spot at mattaranka were you guys camped or did i just miss it ..
It's in the video
Don't change your outboard, just put a cover over it and if questioned say it's a 15hp.
Anybody else attempting to make a cake with a microwave today? 😂😂
Cake in a cup.. microwaveable 🤔
😂 haha give it a go!
🎉🎂🎂👍👍
Do you still have your dogs ?.
Yes we still have Percy 🙂
Hey we noticed no badges on your caravan is that because you were not happy to advertise after all your issues or ???
Hey Sharon, yeah I guess so! After the run we had with it, we were just sick of seeing the branding all over it! 😂
@@WildTouring yes fair enough ,I would too
We were so disappointed with Mataranka last year. Terrible facilities and so run down.
Have heard Whippy Griggs has up and left very very recently too, so I think they could struggle without that drawcard now!
Look in Katherine for photos of the floods. When we were there there w as a photo showing water at the top of a parking sign in the Main Street. Lot of water when you consider the Gorge isn’t that far from the city centre. The gorge tour and sunset cruise were great.
We did notice a flood marker somewhere in town, can’t remember where we spotted it now. But I remember being shocked how high the water had risen!!!
