- The Dremel 335 Plunge Router Attachment transforms your Dremel rotary tool into a router. In this video I review the attachment and demonstrate some cuts using a cheap router bit set.

Straight to the point no flashy intros no reguritated specs that can be easily read on a product page. Simple clear demonstration. New sub from me.
Thanks for the sub! :-)
Me too
why can't all tool review/presentation videos be like this
Thank you Sebastian, I do try to make things relevant! :-)
Amen to that
Just stumbled upon this channel.
Very informative, no waffling, straight to the point. Excellent.
Cheers Mike! :-)
Excellent video. This man should be a teacher. Straight to the point ,no rambling on with useless talk and finally no STUPID music.
Glad I could help Kevin! :-)
This was possibly one of the most informative videos I've watched on UA-cam. It was exactly what i needed to know about the plunge tool as im just just starting out with making all manner of things and wanted to make a personlised cutting board for my brother as a Christmas present and wondered if this would be suitable to router out some lettering using a 3d printed as a guide as a guide.
It is certainly capable of that, but it is difficult to get an acceptable result working freehand without lots of practice Shane. :-)
Look into resin once you routed out ,
Mix colours then varnish it will be very nice.
I've had this attachment for YEARS and of course like a lug, I did NOT read the manual. Your video has taught me a ton about this device and its many uses. Thanks !
Glad I could help! :-)
Very informative, well explained and filmed, no nonsense. I wish all the clips explaining stuff on UA-cam were this good. Thanks!
Thank you! :-)
Hands downs the best Dremel and Dremel attachments Ive seen. Well done Mr Platten sir.
Thank you very much Gregory! What a lovely comment! :-)
Just purchased this for my Dremel for frames. Thanks for demonstrating! Incredibly helpful.
Glad it was helpful Lina! :-)
No one know how much it takes to put a demonstrative video like this together, thanks for showing how this thing works.
Thank you, glad it was helpful! :-)
@@RussellPlatten before you go though, I got a cordless bootleg Dremel, not to say it's a fake dremel but, it's not the same brand but, it looks just like it, what attachments do you think I should have I'll be working mainly on woods and metals, stones not really and maybe eventually carbon but, plastic materials and woods for sure.
@@Sir-Kay I would get all of the basics first. Sanding drums of different sizes, a cheap set of router bits and a cheap set of tungsten carbide rotary files. There are links in the video description to give you an idea of what to look for. I think a flex-shaft is very useful too. My advice would be to think carefully about what project you want to start off with and just buy what you need for that. You can always add to your bits and attachments as and when needed. Good luck with your new hobby! :-)
@@RussellPlatten thanks for the answer Sir.
A great little video and very informative. I like to see people experiment. I get the impression you had no idea if those "cheap£ router bits would work, but you gave it a go and got some reasonable results. Well done to you
I was a little dubious about the router bits, but they did the job Penny! :-)
All I can do is echo what others have said: great videos. The shots are framed so well that I didn't even realize how well you did until toward the end because of how seamless it is. You've clearly put quite a bit of work into it. I'm subbing and buying one. Thanks!
Thanks for the sub! :-)
Me too.
This video has given me confidence to use a Dremel and router bit on my guitar. Thanks for the detail and concise explanations
Glad I could help Thomas! :-)
I didn't think one video would cause me to make my decision. Thank you, Russell.
Great video! Great presentation, straight to the point, and not a lot of unnecessary blabbing! Clear and precise direction and video! As someone else said, “no nonsense !“ some of these folks blab on and on about information we don’t need. Thank you!
Glad it was useful! :-)
I just got my Dremell 335 "PRA" today - and this is an excelent demostration of it! :D
Glad I could help! :-)
I was in the process of buying the Dremel 4300 package plus the plunge router. Watched your video & it helped out tremendously!
Thank you.
Glad I could help Sean! :-)
Thank you for this. I don't have an application for the attachment at the moment, but I still want it after watching what you were able to do with it.
It does add more versatility to a very useful tool! :-)
I actually just bought the same one on Amazon and I can't wait to use it I really appreciate the time you put into this video which answered a lot of questions I had great demonstration my friend thank you so much
Glad it was helpful! :-)
One of the best reviews I've watched on utube...Many thanks.
Thank you very much John! :-)
I have seen hundreds of demonstration videos and this is one of the best. It is clear, the shots are perfectly aligned to show all parts, and Russell does not add any extra comments or humour which detracts from so many videos.
He should really wear hearing protection. Those high-pitched squeals are harmful.
Glad it was helpful Ron. Thank you! :-)
Thanks for the demonstration! Going to buy one thanks to your examples, I couldn't make out how it worked just from the official description.
Glad it was helpful Bart! :-)
Oh my gosh. You’re amazing to watch. No fluffery just pure information..😎
Thank you Tiffany. What a lovely comment! :-)
Excellent review and demonstration, thank you!
I couldn't have hoped for a better demonstration. Thanks for that.
Glad it was helpful Terry! :-)
Best instructional review I’ve found for this product! Thank you soo much, helped me feel confident about ordering one.
Thank you, for making this great demonstration video! on how to use Dremel 335 Plunge Router.
Glad it was helpful! :-)
The most useful and to the point demonstration I’ve watched. Well done!
Thank you, glad I could help! :-)
Amazing video. Thank you very much. I've owned that exact Plunge Router for over 10 years. It's going to get a lot of use.
Great to hear! :-)
I echo the previous complimentary comments about this video! Well done and has convinced me to purchase this item.
Thank you Mark. Good luck with your projects! :-)
One of the best demonstrations on You Tube.
:-)
Great demonstration! Thank you!
Thanks for explaining the router and giving the great example of the picture frame.
You're welcome. Glad I could help! :-)
For only $25 on Amazon it's a steal. Highly recommend.
Well worth the money! :-)
Great video. Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Thank you! :-)
It just occurred to me I could buy a dremmel rather than an actual router for a 1/3rd of the price. This is great! I’m sold!
A router is way more versatile and can do a lot more. The Dremel is limited to very small bits, so it depends on what you want to achieve. :-)
I have one arriving tomorrow. This was very helpful.
Good luck with your projects! :-)
Thank you, Russell, for taking the time to make this excellent tutorial. A joy to watch and learn from!
Glad I could help Bill! :-)
Thank you for the comprehensive review!
It is the best I’ve found for the plunge router attachment and I appreciate it!
New subscriber!
Glad it was helpful John and thank you for subscribing! :-)
I like the chequered plate workbench. Good idea 👍
I just changed it for a new rubber sheet as it was starting to leave black marks on the wood whilst sanding. :-)
Great video. Watching this gave me some confidence to use the attachment
Go for it! :-)
Awesome demo! Thank you!!! I hope Dremel gives you some sponsorship!
Thank you. Not much chance of that I think! :-)
GREAT demo, thanks Russell!
Cheers Wes! :-)
I appreciate your style of presentation and the quality.
Thank you Edward! :-)
Thank you for making this video. I recently bought the plunge router attachment and you answered all my questions.
Glad I could help Mandy! :-)
You’ve convinced me, just ordered the 8820 cordless +plunge router kit + plus Dremel router bit kit…🤓👍
Good luck with your endeavours Simon! :-)
@@RussellPlatten this weekend I’ll be giving it a run out…🤓👍
@@simonmountford4291 Have a look at this project I made for the base. It may make life easier for some tasks Simon. ua-cam.com/video/iTIFUIjICvI/v-deo.html :-)
Thanks Russell, have just bought the Dremel Work Station, cane across this video and now ordering the router bit you've just demonstrated. Impressed with how you made it easy to follow and subscribed to see your other videos. 👏🤩🤗
Cheers Tina! :-)
Hello. I have only just discovered your channel so I apologise if I'm repeating the comments of others.
I thought your video to be very tutorial and the explanations of every stage very clear. I had already purchased one of these and up until your video had wondered how I was going to muddle through. I feel more confident now thanks to your clear commentary - also I'm now suffering from 'workbench' envy ! How I wish I had the space in my 7x10 shed. Still there's plenty room for repairing radios, and clocks etc. Thanks.
I am glad I could help Brian. I may have a large work bench, but I only use a corner of it for most of the jobs I do. Good luck with your repairs and projects! :-)
Excellent video. I watched several others and simply wish I had started here. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful Santiago! :-)
I'll need to get one myself most definitely. I didn't know this was a thing but it's a game Changer
It is a cheap way to get into routing Mario. :-)
Really good review - thank you for your time!
Glad it was helpful! :-)
Great video! Just bought one of these off Amazon due to your review on there! Pretty sure I got the same pack of router bits too!! Will be returning to this video for future reference on how to use it lol. Thank you!
I have been using mine and made a nice little trinket box. The router bits are great value! :-)
Russell Platten nice video I am thinking of getting one thanks for your video
That's exactly why I came I wanted to see if it would be a good buy I can't wait to get it now going to buy it right now
@@TheEstanton5 in my honest opinion, it's worth a purchase, I've used it on several of my projects and will be using it again later today.
Excellent demo! Thank you.
Glad I could help Margaret! :-)
Super useful demonstration - thanks for taking the time to do this.
Glad it was helpful Mark! :-)
@@RussellPlatten Just purchased the 4300 Dremel and getting the plunge router at Christmas. Thanks.
Very nice. I've been struggling cutting curved parts out of plywood. For $30, I think it would be well worth it to pick this up. Thanks for the very informative review!
Glad I could help! :-)
For $30 worth the try. Got mine for carving stars Excellent video
Thank you Robert. :-)
Thank you very helpful. It's not only men that watch your videos so I can make one for the men in my life . :)
Yes, I have seen a lot of interest from women on my Dremel videos. It is good to see! :-)
Thanks mate! I actually have this attachment and never got around to using it but now I'll start using the thing
Good luck with your projects! :-)
Great video! Very informative and for me, who is not a woodworker (yet at least, haha) it is very nice with a down to Earth approach to tool reviews and just simply showing and explaining in an easy way the possibilities and obstacles a certain tool may bring. Thank you! (Also, totally off topic, but your accent and voice are very easy on the ears as well).
Glad you enjoyed it Louise! :-)
Similar to the comment I left on your review video for the Dremel 220 workstation... thank you so much for the well presented demonstration... You should consider affiliate links because I'll be buying at least two pieces of Dremel kit based on your reviews. Thank you again.
Thank you! :-)
Great Vid Thanks. I had lost my instructions this helped a lot.
Glad it helped! :-)
Thank you so much for this video, been tearing my hair out until now, good job
Glad I could help Matt! :-)
What a brilliant and informative video, very inspirational too. One of the best videos have ever seen .. well done !
Thank you Steve! :-)
Thank you so much for this video. I was thinking of buying a cheap router to get started, but saw that Dremel had this accessory. I already have a lot of Dremel products, so I'm used to them. Your video took away my doubts. I'm definitely buying this to learn the skill.
Glad I could help Lucas! 🙂
This is such a well done review! You took the time to make long cuts and actually assembled a product from the demonstration, all the while giving an honest review of the product. It's a great "hobbiest" or hobby level tool, but don't expect industrial level results. I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically the sentiment. Thank you, sir, for such a well thought out production. This tool will be perfect for the application I had in mind, I'll purchase one soon.
Thanks for your kind comment Mark. Glad I could help. Good luck with your projects! :-)
Good demo - Buying one!
