you can do some baking in microwave, cakes tend to come out more like steamed pudding, and yorkshires are a def no-no. they rise beautifully but flop as soon as door opens. I haven't tried pastry, but suspect though it would cook it wouldn't brown so would be best glazed with something to give more colour. soy sauce maybe? I tend to use for porridge, eggs - scrambled and "boiled", cooking frozen veg, and of course, simply reheating things.
