This tool is amazing and the work is very professional! This way you can do all the checks on the bike or clean it without any problem. It's great to make holes and put the covers on for easier installation on the ABBA SKY LIFT. Congratulations!
I too received this kit a few days ago. I find it feels very secure. I think I prefer to leave the plates intact and remove them each time I want to lift the bike, but your solution is very neat.
I took a pass on waiting for those fittings. I custom ordered bushings from ebay. twenty seven millimeters outside diameter twenty one millimeters inside diameter. I am going to modify my heel plates thank you for that . I think even a laser dot would work
Hi there - very curious about how you’ve attached your tail bag so neatly. I’ve got an old Enduristan bag I’d like to fit but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere obvious for the attachment hooks. Would you mind telling us how you’ve managed it or better yet, make a short video please?
Hi Michael, the tail bag has a zipped base this has two securing straps that feed under the sliding luggage plate the bag then zips to the base. The one I have is now 4 years old and been perfect for carrying a few tools, puncher kit, visor cleaner and a drink for days out instead of the top box. This model is no longer available but here is a link to the newer version that I have been thinking about getting you simply cannot go wrong for £21.99 inc post. I will definitely do a video when I order the new bag. www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/313404
Hi Michael I have just noticed they do still have the same back in stock hope this helps 🙂 www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/278777
It is the Optimate 4 Quad and yes I do leave it on but thats another video as im not convinced its doing its job correctly ! But the bike starts when required 😅
By the way, you are not using the strap in the manner ABBA recommend. There is a small fixed loop near the buckle which fits over the pin on the stand. If used in this manner you can pull up on the strap to tighten it without it sliding around. Check the ABBA instructions.
Thanks for this tip buddy it makes sense when you know 😊 I have checked my manual and although it mentions the loop it would be nice to see a diagram of how it fits showing the strap on the pins 👍🏻
I strongly recommend not moving the bike around while it’s jacket up high. It’s much safer doing it lowered. Also try to have someone on hand when mounting and dismounting the lift, just incase it slips off the mount
Thanks David appreciate your comment, I totally understand your concerns however my aim was to show how stable the stand is im not asking anyone to copy my actions 😊
@@NJWMOTO Appreciate that, the problem is that if you have a very heavy bike on the lift the higher it gets the less stable the mount is, it’s gets partially dangerous if the floor is rough as the small wheels can catch and tip the lift over, is a shame it is nor fitted with larger wheels, however this would make the design more complex and costly. I would point out I had the welding fail on the main mounting point, hairline cracks started appearing after a bit of use with a heavy bike, I’ve had it re welded and it’s now fine. I love my sky lift but feel I have to be careful with it. A friend had his fall on him, so always make should I’m not on my own when I use it.

Very neat solution. 5 mins work to save on hours of messing around depending on how much you use your stand is a no brainer to me. 👍
