  • Join me as I hike every [unpaved] trail at Red Top Mountain State Park!
In this video I hike the Homestead Loop, Sweet Gum Loop, Campground Trail, Iron Hill Loop, Osprey Loop, and White Tail Trail totaling 13.33 miles making this my longest hike thus far!
I also briefly mention some upcoming trips I'm excited to take before setting foot on the Appalachian Trail in a few short weeks.

That tree was very cool. I love natures art. Water always calls be it a waterfall in full splendor or a small trickle traveling through rocks.

Saturday, February 24th: A nice hike. No matter what the hike, something is always forgotten. I try to use checklists, so that anything left behind is minor (hopefully). Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08

Yes, luckily nothing left behind was too terribly important!

I’m following you and a mother daughter team on the AT this year. And I am following one on the PCT. I’m looking forward to the journeys and wishing y’all all the best.

I can relate to the sausage fingers. Hold your arm above your head for a few minutes or work a stick bt your fingers. Nice mileage, beautiful day!

Yes, it was a beautiful day for sure! And thanks for the good tips! I usually don't have this issue if I have my trekking poles.

There are cheap compression gloves on Amazon that have helped me with sausage fingers.

Looks like the weather was perfect for hiking. You got a good mileage day in too. I’d say you’re well on your way with your training. REI has a FREE check list they give out to those that ask. Mine’s gotten a little tattered, I think laminating would be the trick.

It's great that you live relatively close enough to Amicalola Falls so that you can go to some of the events there and get oriented toward the start of your thru hike. That's got to help in answering any lingering questions and meanwhile should also boost your excitement about the impending start.

Yes! I'm so looking forward to the things I'll learn this weekend and the people I'll meet. My start date is quickly approaching!

I forget stuff all the time when going on trips, it makes you improvise or realise you don't need it. I'm going on a 600 mile trip now for a week of mtb riding and will make a list of what I've forgotten.

Yes, luckily none of the things I forgot were essential. Other than maybe the sunscreen😅 I was pretty pink at the end of the day.

Yes! I've been to Cloudland Canyon many times! I recently did the Sitton's Gulch trail, and hope to do the Bear Creek Backcountry Trail some time soon.

Water looks low. Good hike how were the feet at the end. If they were sore you can get insoles.

They were a little sore, but nothing too terrible. I did order some insoles excited to put them to use!

Did your pack bother you too? How did your feet do after you mentioned they hurt?

    • @RissaRoams
      @RissaRoams  7 місяців тому +1

My feet were a little sore by the end, but not too bad. I did order insoles though! I actually didn't wear my full pack on this hike (just a day pack), but I did hike almost 11 miles earlier this week with my full pack and it didn't bother me!
