If you're down for it, I would like to see a guide for the masaesyli, I tried them out and first it went well but I struggled against Carthage and their allies, because of the hoplite spam. Thank you very much, glad you liked it! Yeah I have heard that before, I might look into the mod in the future. First, I still have a few things I want to cover on the vanilla game. When I do go into DEI, any particular video you would be interested in?
I'm not sure if it works on legendary as well as it does on easier difficulties but I like to starve out Apuli, get contact with eravisci, and offer to break treaties for gold. Then join war for non agro. Then I follow that up with offering to confederate for all the gold apuli has. This typically sends the scordisci against illlyria cus getae becomes friendly with their friends, and a chance that nori attacks eravisci. Gives me time to either rush north for trees in suebia, or go east for pontic trees. When south and west is secure I often go east against catiaroi if they get invaded by skythia. Then I make contact with bosporus. If catioroi is still alive like general stuck in the sea the chances of a success diplomat visit to bosporus are increased and once I got 15k gold from that, growth maxed dacia and had a crazy agrarian economy by like turn 20
Sounds like a really interesting strategy for sure! Would be really interesting to try something like that. Although getting confederations and treaties on legendary difficulty can be somewhat troublesome, if it works it sounds like an amazing start for the campaign!
