  • Welcome, this time we're walking in Jakriborg, a an area of Hjärup in the Skåne region of Sweden. It's a recently built area with the goal to give it a medieval/middle ages style.

I have heard about Jakriborg and seen it from the road but actually never visited it myself despite being in Lund quite a lot (which is near). I think it is a good initiative to build an area with more of an medieval/middle ages style. I read somewhere that studies have shown that humans actually prefer to live in cities with more winding roads and houses of a more diverse style than usually is the concept in more modern cities. I kind of like the idea. I will try to visit Jakriborg quite soon, it seems to be worth a visit!

Thanks! Yeah, it might not be to the point where I would recommend people to travel far just to go there, but if you're already in the area, I'd certainly say it's worth a visit!

    Looks like it is Denmark.

Have to admit that while I've visited Denmark quite a few times, I haven't really travelled around the country enough to get an idea of what's typically Danish.
But one webpage I read while researching about Jakriborg did agree with you, the page called Arkitekturupproret (The architecture revolt) said that the place mostly reminded them of Danish, German and Dutch architectural styles.
