Glad to see The Armory series come back, and with such a unique and exotic weapon. Always loved using the Sentinel Beam during gameplay, especially against the Flood. Just because it's designed for cleansing the Flood doesn't mean it can't be fun to do so.
> be me > master chief > about to attack a banished base > have Fernando call in a razorback > give arcane sentinel beams to a squad of marines > everyone gets in the razorback > most powerful weapon in the universe, not even the halo can beat us
The sentinels beam was taken by Mark right before his death against the prelate. He managed to get it to fire because it was charged from the sentinel.
Yeah there is a lot infinite does wrong but the forerunner weapons are the complete opposite. Sorta like how the Halo 5 assault rifle was imo an incredible evolution of its design and function. The other weapons were meh at best imo
I have been curious about Combat Skins and their classifications. Chief's suit in Halo CE was a class 2 combat skin, and it can only be assumed that the Didact's was a class 18. I wonder where the current MJOLNIR armor stands now. Heck, where would Samus' power suit, or Tony Stark's Iron Man armors, be on that classification system?
samus's suit would be same as chief class 2 but borders on class 1, the iron suits of iron man are effectively what chief wears but unless there's some form of vibranium to bump it to class two it's a class one series of suits, class ~17 if forged in the nidavellir.
That line has always fascinated me. The greatest suit mankind has ever made and the apex of all their technology at the time, is classified as a class 2, 16 classes below what is seen as sufficient for the Forerunners. Which kinda makes the Didacts defeat more disappointing since he was beaten by a single pulse grenade 😅
@@xyreniaofcthrayn1195Samus is waaaaay more powerful then Chiefs. I don't know anything about Metroid lore but I know her suit is better then Chiefs. Even Iron Man's mark 3 suit took a direct hit from a tank shell and it barely scratched it. Combined with the built-in missiles, repulser beams, supersonic flights, it's a way, waaaaay higher tier then Mjolnier. And getting into the nanotech, bleeding edge, and Godbuster armors, even the PRECURSORS would be amazed.
@@voomvoom4522 judging from the forerunner methodology of suit safety samus's suit is the equivalent of a janitor suit the iron suits such as God buster and the nanite variants (don't forget by halo 4 chiefs suit is held together by nanotech via cortana) are basically what chief wears sans life support systems which brings it's ratings to even below chief and samus's suits.

Always wondered why the sentinels dropped usable weapons for the Flood. Why not overcharge and self destruct near enemies? They would seem replaceable to a civilization that could build the Arks and Halo Array.
Probably so if someone needed to use a weapon, and didnt have any by some chance, and also by chance be near where sentinels have been damaged, they can procure a temporary one. After all, if Sentinels have been deployed against the flood, any NON flood biological would probably need a good weapon, and if they dont have anything that's EFFECTIVE... just wait for one to drop!
I'd also add that they must either be unexpectedly sharp or ridiculously heavy, because their melee strikes can permanently destroy most combat forms in a single hit (on Halo 2).
Great video. I just continued reading Ghosts of Onyx mere hours before this was released, and was pleasantly surprised to see you analyze the specific sentinels mentioned at Onyx. The book really makes me afraid of sentinels now. Rip Team Gladius.
Would love to see a most detailed video going over the ranking structure or the covenant/banished similar to Halo Cannon's old video. I feel installation 00's video format would suit the topic well.
Do you remember the needler-like weapons of the large sentinels from halo 2? I would like to see a video on that weapon. I wonder if it was another form of blamite.
Awesome video as always but I have to ask. Will there ever be a video on the Detonater from Halo 4? I always wondered how it is able to stick to almost any surface.
Omg 😂 have the game set up like Zoo tycoon with first person exploration. Make you do shit like they had you do in the first level of Half Life. and every so often you get milestones where it's just a huge interactive infolore dump with years worth of flood info 💀
If you are already causing flash vaporization, you aren’t causing heat to build up until the target explodes. The flash vaporization *is* the explosion. This is why heat-weapons that flash-vaporize do *not* cauterize. Because the section that is cauterized is also closest to the section being flash-vaporized and is torn apart by the shockwave of the explosion, together with the blood vessels and organs nearby. A shot with a plasma weapon, sentinel beam or a Lightsaber for that matter would be one of the most brutal bloody affairs as blood leaks through the ripped and torn wound. This isn’t going to be a clean cauterized wound in any stretch of the imagination. It’s still a great anti-Flood weapon. The shockwave tears the cells apart, making it ideal to deal with Flood mass without the need to vaporize every single cell.
"X thousand kelvin" should probably be "X million kelvin" - our own (20-21st century humanity, real world timeline) plasma projectors (e.g. project Marauder) easily achieve plasma temperatures in many million K, accelerations of million Gs, and energy densities surpassing nuclear weapons. Halo is surprisingly low-tech.
if the monitor on zeta halo switched to your side after you destroyed him the final time why the heck was he still sending sentinels after you? did the harbinger have control of the ring and it's defenses at that point? kinda like how those brute brothers gain control of the sentinels in the halo wars 2 dlc campaign.
Prob referencing zero-point energy. In my opinion, I'd assume lore would have the drain to output for offensive use serve as testament to the distinct power of the technological prowess of Forerunner energy weapon(s) whether or not Forerunner weapons themselves are able to siphon environment ZPE or need to access a charging terminal and especially in comparison to other energy weapons from other species. This also in context if you suppose that it's intented design and use was utilitarian and offensive capability more pragmatic byproduct of circumstance.
Most people may not share this feeling, but this man has a voice I could fall asleep too and have after my girlfriend left me, love is temporary, the domain is forever.
I’m a little surprised you didn’t get into the hardlight variant seen on Zeta Halo, and ONLY Zeta Halo. Makes me wonder if they’re there to help contain any prisoner escapes, judging by the Sentinel Beam, Heatwave, and Cindershot’s effectiveness on Skimmers/Gasgira and The Harbinger/Xalanyn. Loved the overview of conventional Sentinel beams though! I suppose the negatively charged ions superheating flesh would be a tad more spectacular than what we see in the games… That being said I’d love to see the weapon effects in game, 1:1 even if it firmly landed Halo in the upper ‘M’ category. Heh. Cate-gory indeed.

Word!!
Arcane sentinel beams are the most OP weapon in Halo History
Especially with the Bandana Skull on for infinite ammo.
COPYRIGHT! Joking. Nice Logo! :D Yeah, the Arcane is insanely OP.

I'd assume they have a self-destruct mechanism if Flood biomass is detected close to the firing mechanism
the flood would exploit that to tactically eliminate sentinels
I can hear the halo infinite multiplayer ai announcer: "Some people are worth melting"
"Like a marshmallow in a microwave."
We're all still waiting for a brute vid 😅

5 marines in a Razorbsck and a Sentinel beam. Far more effective than driving around with 5 rocket launchers.
The ulitmate popcorn maker. Flood approved 👍

It is canonically Kemuksuru (blamite), though it is red and lacks the supercombine ability that normal Kemuksuru has
