IDW Godzilla and Mothra Vs Destroyah Battle Recreation! (Godzilla: Rulers of Earth Issue #4)

- The first of three battles I will be adapting from the IDW Comic Series 'Godzilla: Rulers of Earth'! This is Issue #4 of the comic series in which Godzilla takes on the mighty Destroyah! But he won't be able to do it alone without the help of Mothra and her two larvae!

Thank you guys so much for absolutely everything! The love and support and feedback this video has been getting is absolutely crazy! As of writing this, life has been kicking my ass but the support I've been receiving from you all just means the world to me. Now I know this animation looks extremely rough around the edges. The compositing can use some work, the weight and scale doesn't feel as fluid as I hoped it would, the shadows and lighting is weak, and the Special FX do not look strong in the slightest. I learned a LOT making this animation. I've figured out how to make the Special FX look far better. I've figured out how to make the shadows and lighting look better. I learned a lot regarding the compositing. I've been practicing how to bring about proper weight and scale, or at least have been practicing how to make animation look better. I'm taking a lot more time with it and am learning so much with the help of my incredible friend MIST5R! So for my next project, Godzilla Vs Kong: The Hollow Earth Battle... I won't be the only one working on it ;) I'll be taking my TIME with the animation. Not too much time, but enough so that each shot is beautiful in both choreography and visually. I'm a bit preoccupied with school work, client work, and trying to get my personal life back together, but I promise I'll try my best to release more videos both regarding discussions as much as animations. I have made a recent community post regarding the future projects I have planned, so if you guys have any questions regarding that then just go ahead and read the post to see all my projects! Thank you so much! I wish I could say the same but as I worked on this project, I started realizing how bad it was looking from the start. It was more of a learning experience, where as you go on you look at the earlier shots and are like "damn that sucks! I can do this better, or do that particular thing better using this method". You know what I mean? Haha. The coming animations will be much better though, that is a guarantee!
We need this to happen in the Future of the Monsterverse Movies!
Imagine the Monsterverse having the Biggest and Strongest Destroyah yet! What will make the Battle Epic is for Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Kong and maybe even Gamera or Jet Jaguar fighting Destroyah all at once
Tbf the monsterverse kaijus are not strong compared to hesei and showa, so having the strongest dest would need to have like 4 films to upgrade the current kaijus to even get showa level not even hesei
got to say love what you did with Godzilla's look!!! Not to bulky not too thin and the cherry on top, he looks more like a Chinese/Japanese dragon instead of a irradiated dinosaur!!! Definitely subscribing!!!

8:30 minute animation, that's insane! I love how you handled their weight from their movements, makes it more realistic. It's also cool to see how you managed to make smoke effects through video editing pretty well.
Thank you so much! This was really experimental but it is still really rough around the edges. Not happy with this project as I was when making it, but there are so many more techniques I've been learning as to how to capture weight and scale, how to make the action scenes more dynamic, and how to make things like the lighting look way better!

King kong 19100, you might not see this but I want to give you some tips to improve your work even more.
First get a very cheap motion capture suit or get on a website that can track your movements. I tried it before and it's really helpful for animation and stuff. SECOND you can use minutures for lotts of things because I used it alot of times and it's one of the best decisions In my life.
THIRD on blender or unreal engine, add as much detail you can get, as furr falling down off of kong or the tiniest blood on godzilla claw or on him, 4RTH learn cinematography
It really helps like ALOT cuz it did to me because you mentioned wanting weight and scale, that comes with the power of cinamatogerphy, number 5. I recommend z brush with making models for certain places or even characters and kaiju, it works well with making furr and small details on things like I talked about earlier, and it helps out with motion capture too, and I also recommend a drawing tablet to go with it but you can do it on pc as well. STAGE 6.
You can also film outside for more realistic view and make it more immersive, and also do it like under a tree or like somehere behind a
Something to compare with to get that scale. ROUND 7.
Get real actors, go to websites or platforms or something, because that makes it more cenamatic and the best, tell them to shoot them on a green screen if you don't want then physically to at your presence. I recommend video's on youtube called blender 1 minute tutorial or something like that because it saves yiu time for more projects. BTW all these tips helped me so much and it's really great, and do you want to collaborate because I have the same vision as you do, like making a monster cenamatic universe. That would be great. That is one badass Godzilla model. Man you should recreate more of IDW Godzilla comics with that model. It looks incredibly awesome, makes me want to see it in actual cgi or a suit in a movie. Good job on the video, and the animation is incredibly good, great job.

But Seriously This Animation is perfect.
This is one of the best CGI Godzilla fan films I’ve seen. The animation is on-par with stuff from Vrahno. It’s that good. The cinematography is really good, with many shots that are undeniably wallpaper-worthy. And to address the old elephant in the room, this IDW Godzilla model is an undeniable upgrade from the last one.
Although, I will say the effects and compositing still need some work. It can be pretty obvious that the explosions and beams are 2D. But otherwise, this was magnificent. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store.
Man thank you so much, and a special shout out to you for being the voice that helped me decide to change the original Godzilla model.
I’ve learned a lot regarding weight being portrayed in animation as well as making the special fx look better, and I think you’ll be able to see better improvements in my next clientwork as well as my next series of animated films. Thanks so much though man!

Ah bro thank you so much, that truly means the world to me! At first I was so excited for this animation, but as I made it I learned so many techniques and ways to improve that now I'm super shy about this one. Just like "oh no, I could have done this better" or "I could have added better shadows there", you know what I mean? Haha. But for most of the things that look bad in this animation I've found ways to improve it in the next one, which makes my next project super exciting! A pissed off Godzilla will virtually kill anything, but Mothra and the babies added a fun twist.

Badass dude! Animation solid. Choreographed beautifully. The way the monsters moved and emoted was very good. The happy ending, especially seeing the callback to tokyo sos. But instead they bring her home. I almost got teary eyed

This was a great animation. The only real big issue for me was some of the effects looking green screeny and Godzilla’s head looking a bit like a dog no offense to the person that made the model.
Yeah I can see what you mean which seems fair enough but I'm just gonna assume the person who made the Godzilla model heavily based it on one fo the classics such as heisei, millennium which was kinda known for their dog or wolf like heads

Allll good haha. It's a closer match to the actual IDW design but I added personal touches, like a spiked beard. I think people are so used to Legendary Godzilla being short-snouted that it makes other Godzilla's with longer snouts look more dog-like or ferret-like. But the direction we took it was very much intended to be longer-snouted, just like the actual IDW design!
Regarding the Green Screen FX: DUde I hate how awful they look haha. I learned a LOT regarding not only HOW to do those fx, but also better ways to composite. I also figured out a way to make my shadows look better, and I know this animation is extremely rough around the edges but it was more of an awesome learning experience. I have newer projects coming out where I'll be taking a lot more time on the animation itself in order to capture weight as well as better compositing regarding the special fx!

This was a great all around vs match. Godzilla looked liked ultima Godzilla and snow Godzilla. I liked it. As an old school fan, looked great. I’m hoping for more great animations. Beautiful.

This is one of the best Godzilla 3D animations I've ever seen! You've upgraded so much since the Godzilla vs Anguirus video! The animation here looks actually realistic and amazing, Destoroyah was menacing as heck, and that Godzilla 3D model... *(chef's kiss)* SO WONDERFUL! Elden and you are some awesome animators!

This has made a movie that should exist
Definitely a hot step up from the GvA video. There's a chance that's only because the lack of melee action this time around, and some of the movements of the kaiju are a little stiff, but I'd argue it's less jarring here. I do think that some of the special effects surrounding the Kaiju are a bit shawty. I'm pretty sure the Kaiju are levitating half the time, and some of the explosions move with the camera like it's a Chill's video. But otherwise, I can definitely see some improvement on how fluid the Kaiju movements are, and especially with how the Kaiju interact with the environment. Keep it up, big man!
Thank you so much! I learned a lot regarding the special fx and compositing as well as the weight and scale. I really struggle with stiffness, but with the project I am currently working on I am learning a LOT regarding weight and scale. It's weird the explosions move, they're actually in the scene itself and aren't overlayed in post. But I am going to definitely improve not only the weight and scale and special fx, but also the lighting and the shadows! Thank you so much! I thrive off the critiques!
