7:34 that really hit... For people who don't know.
In the original " rodan" of 1956 there were two of them, a male and female. However at the end of the movie, the female is stuck because of the flames of an active volcano. The male try to save her but unfortunatly he fails, and both of them perish in the volcano.
A third rodan will then appears, the rodan we all know. The last of his kind....
But now he is not alone anymore ❤️

@@Hollasias I presume it's a composite like all the other kaiju that appear in these videos. After all there's an Easter Egg referencing the events of Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster alongside noting how he still sees himself as Little Godzilla's big bro.
Mothra just being everyone's mother figure unless they have an actual mom is very fitting

something i absolutely ADORE about how Rodan acts here is how he occasionally behaves like a real bird. him flipping his neck back and clicking his beak like a crane when his egg hatches and hunting fish in a similar way to a black heron are such awesome little details
That neck thing and clipping the beak is a stork behaviour. They do that to celebrate a new egg.
As a soon to be Dad, with complications with trying before, this hit a bit harder than I thought it would.

@@Warlord_Gruktak_Rukrak to me rodan seems more like a single mom, but maybe that's because it hits closer to home, also as you can see here at 7:10, you see two pictures, one, on the right, who kind of looks like rodan's partner, and on the left, rodan, who definitely looks more feminine compared to her partner
edit: after seeing the last scene I realized that they are rodan's parents, but my point still stands that rodan looks an awful lot like her mother

@@ColorInversion Yes it is the Rodan Heisei but the family lore belongs to the Rodan Showa. The author gave him that of his counterpart to enrich his story.
The newspaper sheet in Motha's house also belongs to the Showa era, the characters are a combination of different timelines.
Love what a grouchy loner Godzilla is compared to his kid. this is honestly a breath of fresh air as far as fan animations in the community goes. a cute slice of life on monster island. absolutely love what an enthusiastic and proud parent Rodan is.

Definitely my cup of tea instead of the usual "destroy the monster" plots that have been overdone to this point.
Imagine if someone did something like this for Jurassic Park/World? Something that steers away from the dino chasing humans to dino slice of life.

As a dad, I really liked this animation. My kids enjoyed it, too! My boy asked who's egg was in the house, and if it hatched, I, uh...I didn't really know how to explain that to him.
That it was rodans and he missed the times he was a kid.

The fandom (and actually most of the films) often make a point of portraying Rodan as... Let's just say a jerk, so seeing him as a legitimately good guy and still having that feel completely in character is honestly heartwarming. God(zilla) bless the pterodactyl dad.
Only Legendary's Rodan is a jerk. They portrayed him as someone arrogant that when he meets someone more powerful he becomes submissive and obedient. Basically Starscream.
But both Rodan Showa and Rodan Heisei are good guys, especially Heisei.

7:25 I know this is probably Rodan's own egg from which he hatched from, turned into a grave/homage for his parents, perhaps. But later when he visits Mothra and it said that he has done this all before, I wonder if it's an egg he once had and it did not have life in it. Anyways, it's heartbreaking to see.
This was adorable! Loved how Rodan was characterized, especially in comparison to how he's usually thought of. Mothra being a good friend is great too.
The fact that Rodan has actually lost an egg (and possibly his wife?) in the past, and almost lost his second egg, was heartbreaking to see.

Rodan is my favorite kaiju, and I think this is beautiful.
This is the kinda wholesome nonsense I would come up with when I was young and obsessed with monster island and all of godzilla's friends and I love everything about it, it warms the heart honestly
I love the detail of Rodan clicking his beak when he’s happy or excited, as I believe that’s a thing birds and most likely pterosaurs used to do to express their emotions.
I love how you gave rodan traits of a heron, using its wing as shade ro attract fish under it, him using his beak to make noise and express himself, I love it!

It’s easy to forget that Rodan, Like Mothra, was first seen in his own movie during the classic showa era, but was later added to Toho’s famous roster of “Godzilla” Kaiju.
Easily one of my favorite Kaiju of all time, but I feel like he hasn’t gotten the respect he deserves.
Well, until now. This video is 🔥
I liked his portrayal in the monster verse, sort of like a Starscream type character that plays both sides but may be able to redeem himself later.
Its nice that Quazies payed homage to the original movie. Even if it is heartbreaking.
I think he's gotten plenty of respect. at least compared to most other monsters anyway. He's the first monster (along with Mothra) to be considered Godzilla's ally, he's part of the Big 5 (Showing up in each era) and; like you said, he's a monster who got his own movie before becoming part of the Godzillaverse.
Granted, he's probably the least talked about of the big five, but Mothra, King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla are just far more talked about.
Early showa rodan was like Godzillas equal where they didn’t necessarily like eachother but would work together if need be
Hopefully we can see monsterverse rodan kinda follow suit and ally with Godzilla to defeat a greater enemy one of these days

The room scene is very emotional. They way I see it, it was Rodan's old egg and he's paying respect to his parents that died in the 1956 movie from the volcano. Maybe the reason he's doing parenting research is to make sure he's present after having to growing up by himself with the only family he had being Little Godzilla and learning how to be a dad for the 1st time since his passed away to teach him. Based on the credits, the parent figures he had were Showa Goji & Mothra. That's just my interpretation. Overall I love these animations and can't wait to see more along with Lil Pootis.

The fact that you connected rodans first movie and connecting that by showing the portraits of his parents and him being hesitant of going into the room (presumably by having PTSD from losing his parents) and the ending shot of his parents and the baby from the broken egg (which almost made me cry). This whole episode was so well done, amazing job

The subtle ques of Rodan looking back at his home and the background motions of gathering the flowers for a later emotional reveal really show a talent and skill in story telling as well as animation

The horror I felt when Manda cracked the egg was legitimately visceral like i felt my stomach clench from that and it didnt let go until Rodan Jr came out of the gg and he is so cute i am sobbing

What can I say that has not already been said? This is the best kaiju animation I have seen. The warm and bright colors with the emotion in every scene, the monsters up the wazoo. 1000/10. Perfect!

This was such a good and emotional animation, I genuinely felt sad for Rodan whenever their egg was taking longer to hatch, great work!
Not to mention when Manda bit into the egg and it fell down. I was damn well worried.
Fun fact birds dont cry tears of emotion instead the cry then threaten or trying to clean their eyes.

You always know how to convey a story without any actual forms of audible words just emotion and letting the animation speak for itself. Beautiful stuff, simply amazing as always.

Rodan's fear of the egg not hatching and trauma from the last egg brings tears to the eyes and is very heartbreaking but the fact he gets his happy ending is heartwarming, your way of story telling is fabulous and tbh I'm excited to see the 2nd Generation of the Monster Island crew with the added addition of Rodan Jr (A solo episode featuring Godzilla Jr, Mothra Jr and Larve A.K.A Mothra's children and Rodan Jr please I need that episode in my life)

Love this so much I watched it several times with and without the funny narration. The emotional stare and despair Rodan showed looking at the empty shell hit hard. That relief of meeting his baby is done so masterful. Love the bgm and sfx. This is high quality movie materials. I would love to see more 🎉 Thanks for your hard work and make everyone’s day so much sweeter and happier!
I haven't cried since Minus one. This was so cute to see.
The baby was by far the best reveal,but the reveal of the pictures to his parents made this one my favorite. You can feel just how worried rodan is to be a father,and when his dream is finally complete,he can rest easy with his newborn child.
I went from interested to completely enthralled by the halfway point.

For those who don’t know, in Space Amoeba, Gezora is able to freeze water temperature around it and cause frostbite to those it touches with it’s tentacles. It makes me wonder if Kamoebas and Ganimes will show up in later episodes. Love this series and Lil’ Pootis btw!
This is such a wholesome video. A whole season of this would go great on TV. Especially Kids TV.
My Dad found the first Godzilla animation you did (borger) and we all loved it. We have a Godzilla home, especially my Dad who has been a diehard fan of the franchise since the beginning. We watched through all of your animations in anticipation for this one, and it did not disappoint! It was so fun catching little hints here and there like a scavenger hunt (my Dad appreciates every detail you put in!) This was beautiful, and you truly are one of the pillars in the Godzilla fandom imo
I absolutely love how this turned out, and the moments were rodan shows his kid to everyone is so wholesome!
As a long time Godzilla fan, I cannot express how much I adore fan made content like this. They bring such wonderful interpretations of these characters and worlds that we simply wouldn’t get from official means, and you’ve definitely created some of the best. I genuinely adore theses videos and cannot wait to see more!

This just gives off the BEST kinds of Saturday morning cartoon vibes that is favoured by both children and adults alike, this one episode in particular is off the charts in terms of animation and wholesomeness
Exactly every thing about this is just wholesome, there were some bits where I didn’t know anything about because I’m not familiar with the Godzilla lore but like at the end of this video I feel bad for Godzilla Jr because apparently he only has two friends on monster island :(

Such great animation and every character is so personable! I especially love how you depict Rodan hunting like a heron, using his wings too make shade in order to block glare and bait fish in. Super neat details n’ references too!

Man the 'quick act like nothing happened' reminds me of my childhood
I noticed there were no closed captions during the scene where Rodan lays flowers by his egg. Very good move: really allows the imagery and music to just speak for itself in such an emotional moment of mourning.
This has got to be the best one you made. You’re a freaking underrated artist this was gorgeous, and you just played with my emotions in that episode
By the way all of the episodes are 10/10 and this one is a 100/10
I think my favorite was Gigan’s episode. It showed off all the villains and we got to know a lot more characters!

These animations are absolutely stellar. Love seeing the classic Toho monsters living in a kind of Suberbia. This one for rodan, was so cute.
As a big Rodan fan, this might be one of my favorite portrayals if the character ever. He's so often treated as the butt if the joke that it's so nice to see his caring nature be more fleshed out.
It's always nice to see how both the animation and character designs change every video. And of course the Easter eggs (no pun intended), my favorite being hedorah watching House, it's so on point.
Gorosaurus is a mood and I love him for it. And Manda as the antagonist was quite a surprise.
Though can anyone explain to me, did Rodan loose both a mate and a child? Or did he loose his parents?
I think it's a combination- I know in his first appearance, Rodan's mom and dad perished, and I seem to remember another version of Rodan having an egg that got destroyed. I could be misremembering that second part though

I can't remember which movie it was exactly, but I do remember that one of Rodans original movies there was a pair of rodans like kaiju that started causing havoc after awakening from a volcano together? The rodan we would come to know was the surviving monster from that film.
