- World premiere performance of this new arrangement of Fauré's 'Libera me' for double bass and piano by Adrian Eriksson. From the recital 'Fauré 100 Years' in Livereds kapell, Sweden, the 17th of August 2024, together with Henrik Kilhamn on piano, celebrating 100 years since the death of the composer.
The Requiem, Op. 48, is Fauré's most popular work, first premiered in 1888. The earliest music composed for the Requiem dates back to 1877 when Fauré wrote Libera me as a baritone solo with organ accompaniment. It was later added to the Requiem as its sixth movement, premiering in its second version in 1893.
Thank you for your playing, as well as the accompanist. This is what I prefer hearing.
Beautiful playing by both. I used to play in orchestra's all the time and I don't ever recall hearing a bass viol so lovely . . .
Brilliant! Thank you.
