Can you consider slowing down when you are talking, I am sometimes losing track of what are you explaining. I understand it's too many subjects you are covering but it would be easier to follow your instruction if you would please speak a bit a slower.

Hi Gevorg, do you find that when students use memory aids on the exam, they are penalized because they wont be able to provide the exact handbook reference ie. IFRS 15.9 for identifying the contract?

Hey Reshma, I am enrolled in CPA and can provide a general answer to your question. I have been where you are and it can be confusing to understand the process at first. And about ROI, it is possible for you to have your employer reimburse you for your tuition and you pay $0 out of pocket!!! (more details below in the experience paragraph). To become CPA, there are 2 requireds - Studies and Experience. Let's focus on studies first.
To start studies (CPA PEP) there are certain pre-requisites that you need to meet. Best way to know if you meet them is to call your provincial CPA body and ask them the process. I did my bachelors in Canada so all I had to do was to submit my transcripts and pay about $150. Most likely, you would not meet these pre-reqs, as these are accounting related courses we do in bachelor's. After the assessment, or whatever the step is in your case, CPA lets you know if you meet these. If yes, then you apply for PEP, if not you have to complete these. I believe it is called CPA PREP. I am not familiar with it as I did not have to take it. Once you are registered in PEP, it takes about 1.5 years without any breaks (6 modules + CFE (final exam)). If you have to take PREP, you can add that time accordingly in the study duration.
Now work experience - To be qualified as a CPA, you require 30 months of accounting related experience AND at least 2 mentor meetings per year. It can be achieved while you are studying, or you can separate these. But keep in mind, you have 7 years to complete the both requireds from the date you start. There are 2 routes (options) - 1. Pre-approved route (PPR) and 2. Employment Verification Route (EVR). PPR is easier as there are lesser hurdles to cross. Also, all PPR employers have a plan in place and provide you with the mentor who can guide you and help you become a good accountant. Also, in PPR there are previous candidates who went through this program, who are now CPAs, which provides some support and best advice. Most PPR employers will reimburse you for your tuition, so you are paying pretty much nothing out of pocket if you pass them in the first go (which is fairly easy if you put in reasonable efforts)! On the other hand, EVR can be hectic. There is a good chance under EVR, that you have to find your own mentor and there will be limited support from the employer. I am doing PPR, so not familiar with the EVR, but it involves lengthy reports. You can google the differences between the two. You can find PPR employers here: www.bccpa.ca/become-a-cpa/about-the-program/experience/careers/pre-approved-program-route-office-listing/
You have 7 years from start date to complete both requireds (study + work exp.). All in all, the experience required can be achieved during studies, but it will be a time and financial commitment at least for 3 years from the day you start.
If you need more info, feel free to give CPA provincial body a call / email, they can help navigate the process initially, and then you find friends and is the best support you can ask for.
I am in BC, so here is the contact info for CPABC.

Please note, I am no professional, but I understand the confusion as I faced it once. I love providing what ever guidance I can to students trying to navigate the CPA.
      Good luck!
