Serious question: why do you need to cut both sides, why don't you have the option to just cut twice as much from one end? Thanks for your help, considering buying these.
This really helped me, the guy at home depot forgot to cut one of three sets, I was going to unknowingly use the chop saw through the whole thing, thanks bud!
Turns out it’s a balance thing. I’ve only got 3/8” to remove. I definitely have the room on the side without the spring mechanism. (IKEA Trippeval.) How did it go, Nancy?
be careful which ones you buy, bought 4 sets and one came in a green colored label. It can not be cut as the mechanism is connect to within one inch of the ends, may have been an older model or maybe it is newer, it was 58x64 which needed to be trimmed to 56. the others were no problem

Because there is a cord in the middle and cutting the blinds from both sides will keep the middle cord in the middle.

why does everyone have a chop saw. is it possible with just a handsaw?
Thanks so much for taking the time to film this, so helpful!
If I have to take off less than an inch, could I just remove length on one side?
Yea. Yo can do that. I took a little off 1 side and it worked fine

Bravo my man. Great job. The steak knife had me there for a minute. Would a evolution rage 2 saw cut the shade without melting the shade?

Right, I bought the ones that actually said cut@home ones but wasn't sure if I could cut with a regular table saw.
I wonder how an oscillating multi tool would cut the fabric...
Ah Ha!! Killer Tips & Video! Thank you TONS!
Is there anyway to shorten the length ?
FYI - Lowe's cuts them custom at the store when you buy them. I think Home Depot does the same.
Only Levolor
Not if you buy them for $3 at the local swap meet.
Does everyone own a table saw??Other video used on too.
Very helpful
Are these shades recommended for the front windows? Or just the back window of the house?
why not just cut 1 side?
There's a release that is centered. Too much off one side and it no longer centers.

I don't own any electric saws. Do you think I could cut the plastic part with a manual jeweler's saw?
I plan to use a miter box and hacksaw.Loews has a box for $4.98 and I guess Harbor Freight and HD would also have.
thank you!
I tried this with my miter saw and it destroyed the shade and gummed up the blade axle.
Thank you
A steak knife?
Yeah, Tyler
is toast if the Mrs. finds out he used a quality culinary instrument to whack at these cheap blinds.
the inches/fractions people deal with in usa. go decimal bro.
What if it is too long ? How do you shorten them ?
