Thanks! I bought two of these, the first didn't come with instructions, the second did. Of course we didn't think to look in both boxes, it was a very stressful couple of minutes until we found this video!
This video was very helpful. I put up my blind with no problem. However, since math isn't my forte I had to measure several times before placing the brackets. It came out perfect. I plan to buy more of these shades, because I immediately felt the air difference in my house. Thank you.
After you made brackets, how to install blind into brackets? I saw you just pushing only. It did not work for me that way. My blind was dropping right after that. Please zoom it and explain it clearly that step. Thanks.
My bracket is same as your page instruction. I have put the bracket inside mount exactly as in the instruction, but I could not install shade into it. There was no "snapping". I repeat there was no "snapping". And my shade was falling right away. I agreed with Pat Kowalczyk that if you could close up of snapping into place. And if you could explain how to do that slowly. That is one of important step. That is not really helpful, but thank you so much anyway.
I am headed to Lowe's today to purchase. This was a help. Now I'd like to know how to remove the Roman shades that are already installed. Hopefully I will be able to use the same mounting spots for the shades. Any ideas on how to remove the Roman Shades?
it would be helpful if you explained more in detail the actual "snapping in" process between the shade and the brackets because that's what we're having trouble with; it's definitely not as easy as shown in this video; what are the actual connections that are occurring - totally invisible to the installer of course - between the bracket parts and the header of the shade? We can't get ours to click either
These brackets can be tricky, but after reading the enclosed instructions and spending some time sitting with and looking at - and trial fitting - the bracket and the header (before the install) you should be able to "see" how it would work. I really worry these days about folks not being able to comprehend the workings of simple "snap together" parts. Maybe not enough playtime in kindergarten hammering "round pegs in a square hole" playskool workbench :)
Thanks, please allow your video to show the tape measurements you are taking from the inside of your window frame before you drill your top mounting guide holes.
I was beginning to think that the brackets were handcrafted by the sulfury fingers of the devil himself. Could not get left bracket to click. Took off bracket and determined there wasn't enough tension on the spring clip. Bent it out a little more and exorcised the demon.
Al, that's called a hex driver. It works for screws that have a hexagon shaped head. It's extremely helpful. We sell one size on our website: www.fixmyblinds.com/magnetic-hex-driver.html
Never explained how to measure where you mount the bracket to ensure the shade will be flush with the front edge of window frame. Also, the brackets i have do not look like this one so i need details on installing them. Mine cannot be mounted at front and top of sill - it can only be set at the back of the sill. I'm not happy with blinds.com right now...
Hi there! To mount new blinds, you must use the brackets that they come with. Most brackets are unique to the shades they are made for and there isn't usually the opportunity to use what is already in place.
Hi there, We may have what you need. Please send us an email to service@fixmyblinds.com sharing pictures of the top rail of the blinds you need to hang up. Based on the photos, we can let you know if we have what you need.
I purchased a home with the Levlor that pulls down and with a press button they are supposed to retract the cell shades back up. I have 3 of these about 70inches wide and the window is 34" tall. They are insalled and width is very good, BUT the cellular shade length is way longer than the windows. When I pull it down, instead of the 34" of window it covers over 72 inches, and DOES NOT go back up when I press the button. I hear it click and a few inches it rolls up, but not the rest. Also since it is so long, it stacks very thick, covering more of the window than it likely should. What can I do to fix these? Are there any instructions on how to cut these to size and restring them? (I tried this video's recommendation with no difference)
Phil - Thanks for your question. As far as I know, there are no instructions to shorten this type of cellular shade. Since they are springloaded, it would be tricky to take them apart and get them back together and still be working properly. I've searched for any helps for this type of shade, but not come up with anything. You can contact Levolor directly, but they may refer you back to us. Their contact information can be found here: www.levolor.com/customer-support/customer-service. Please let me know if I can help with any other questions.

Do you have a video showing an outside installation? on my windows, I don't have enough depth to do the "preferred" inside install and was worried about light leaking from the sides on an outside install. In other words, how close will the bracket on an outside install allow the shade material approach the outside trim boards? TY
Sandy, We do not have a video for outside mount on these brackets. But, to mount outside, you'll install the screws through the backside of the bracket instead of putting the screws through the top. There could be light leaking on the sides of an outside mount. How far does the width of the blind overlap your window on each side?
+cmlstudio We've found that with these type of brackets, they have to be in perfect alignment in order for all of them to work together. Double check the bracket alignment with a straight edge.
Thank you fixmyblinds, I will try that. We adjusted the far right bracket for that reason when the center and left would click in but the right wouldn't. All we accomplished was now the center and right clicks in and the left side won't. For a DIY blind, it shouldn't be this technical. Or directions should say it is IMPERATIVE that installer uses a straight edge or laser line. We measured, but a hair off is critical with these blinds. Can't return as they were custom cut.
cmlstudio I thought that too but called Lowe’s and they’ll replace it for free if it’s broken, which both of mine did, they stopped retracting correctly.
How would you recommend measuring and cutting cellular shade for 90" wide window. Using 2-45" shades. How would you handle the center of window where the two shades meet?
Hi TK, We don't cut down blinds here and don't have any recommendations for that. You can certainly install two shades next to each other. There will be a light gap where the fabric meets. To avoid the light gap, you can custom order a shade that covers the full width of the window opening. Or, consider ordering a custom shade with a two on one headrail. (That is two separate shades on the same mounting rail at the top.) There's much less of a light gap where the fabric pieces meet with two on ones. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
My headrails are not sapping in like that...............SMH. Also the holes on my brackets are close to the center and the tab interferes to drill straight up or the brackets aren't as wide and that causes the tab to interfere in drilling straight up. I like the blinds but the brackets and how the headrails snap in SUCK!!!
Are your mounting brackets exactly like the ones in our video? This isn't the easiest type of bracket and shade to install. Are you still working on it or did you get it?
Not exactly the same, they're not as wide but the same style. Agreed.............the headrail want to snap in on one side but not the other side even when I'm applying the same amount of pressure to both side....if that makes sense, lol. I've gotten 2 blinds up so far(don't ask how but I final did get the headrails into the second bracket, lol) and have two more blinds to do. I like the style and the way they look but not crazy about the way the headrail/bracket attach.
Update............just did the third one and the headrails pop into the bracket so easy........again don't have a clue why the first one went so hard and had problems with the second one. Well on to the last one, lol!
That's great that it's getting easier as you go along. With these brackets, if they aren't lined up perfectly when installed, it can make it difficult to mount the blind. Maybe that was an issue with the first shade? Regardless, I'm glad that you got these shades hung up!
Thanks and agree. The left bracket needs to be like 11/4" instead of 1" to 2" per the instructions if that make sense, lol. I also used a step stool to be at the same elevation as the headrail/brackets versus standing on the floor. By the time I did the 4th one I can't understand how I had so much trouble, lol Thanks again for help, appreciate it!!

DarthMerlin Mine click right in . Didn't do a lot of measureing but I did find a problem that caused an issue . The window frame was pushing the battery pack down and causing it to not click on the right side. Taking the battery pack out will not help . It's the battery mount that is hitting the window frame. After moving the brackets out my unit clicked right in , no problem . Also make sure you do not have the clear release levers under the shade header . Just a thought .

The shades will not 'snap into place." That is a joke. The only reason anyone has for searching for a video on how to install their cordless shade is because they will not snap into place no matter what they do. It is impossible. After destroying more than one shade, ruining the paint job in a room, and suffering untold hours of frustration, I figured out how to install the shades. IGNORE the directions and ignore this video. Install the brackets completely backwards- with the metal piece closest to the room and the front edge of the bracket closest to the window frame. Slide the shade right into place, pinning it between the window frame and the bracket. Voila! I have had my shades up for months like this and it took two seconds to do. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that the shade will snap into place. It won't. Give up on it before you destroy something and lose your mind.
Working with these brackets can be difficult. I'm sorry to hear that you've struggled with them so much and been so frustrated. They fit very tightly, and it is sometimes hard to get them to snap onto the headrail. However, our instructions follow the manufacturer's seen here: ua-cam.com/video/z_qM2rwD6Eo/v-deo.html. It's important to install the shade per the manufacturer's instructions so that it's safe and will operate properly. If you look at this web page, there are several close up shots that show how the bracket is attached to the headrail: www.fixmyblinds.com/cellular-shade-bracket-01.html
Hi Elizabeth - You mount the top rail of the shade into the brackets. Please look at the additional pictures on this product to see how they fit on: fixmyblinds.com/products/cellular-shade-bracket-01.
Maya, are you referring to hanging the shades or opening/lifting them? If you're referring to opening the shade please try the following. Gently pull down on the bottom rail to reactivate the cordless spring motor. This helps in many cases. Anytime the blind is left in the closed position for an extended period of time, the cordless spring motor may need to be reset in order to operate properly.
I watched this video hoping it would add information about how you're supposed to snap the shade into place. The printed directions aren't great. Nope. In your video it just sort of happens. No help there.
They do NOT SNAP IN PLACE!!!!! i had to mount on the outside and slide the whole thing in from the side! Also, good luck if u gotta remove, had to basically tear out old ones. Need to re-think yr brackets there levelor!!

To get the brackets off of the top rail, squeeze them towards the rail so you can unhook them from the top first. They are a little tricky to work with!

These instruction may help, too: s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/DecorOnline/PDFs/Stock/Cellular_Instructions_IM.pdf
Not what i needed. What part of the shade do you mount on the bracket. You miss a very important step.
Hi Elizabeth - You mount the top rail of the shade into the brackets. Please look at the additional pictures on this product to see how they fit on: fixmyblinds.com/products/cellular-shade-bracket-01.
HOW DO U GET THEM BACK UP????

I can't get the shade to clip into the brackets! HELP!
Hi! Thanks for your comment. Does your shade look exactly like the one in this video? If it's slightly different, please email pictures of your bracket to us at service@fixmyblinds.com. We can provide some directions based on your specific bracket.
Installing it to the bracket it’s like my kryptonite. So hard.
Too bad you dont show how to shorten. And, the brackets were already attached to the blind and very difficult to remove. 🤦♀️
To get the brackets off of the top rail, squeeze them towards the rail so you can unhook them from the top first. They are a little tricky to work with!
Ar cEllular Trilight shade
No help whatever on snapping in
Johanna - Thank you for your comment. Installing cordless shades can be really frustrating sometimes. I have a graphic of how the head rail of the shades fits into the bracket. I can email it to you if you'd like. Please leave your email here or email me at gretchen@fixmyblinds.com.
Who else thought this video was painstakingly long? Like, is it necessary to watch the man fiddle with EACH end cap and drill holes for all three of the brackets? Zzzzzzz......
Next to NO attention paid to snapping blind into place. Useless.
Glen, this webpage should provide more detailed directions: www.levolor.com/customer-support/installation/how-to-install-cellular-csn
Blinds.com instructions are virtually non-existent (too cheap to hire a Chinese-English translator, I guess) & so are their videos!
Hi Kay, We aren't affiliated with blinds.com, but are happy to help! If you need additional assistance, please reach out to our customer service team at service@fixmyblinds.com.
