Well Seungri happened. YG happened. YG really handled it the worst way possible. He stuck around long enough to crop that pic and write "I love my band. I love my fans". He started distancing himself from YG as soon as his contract was done. Since GD was the last one to leave YG and it was rumored, Yang hyun suk, was the one who tried to keep him around the most, then TOP MIGHT have had a disagreement with GD concerning how YG wanted to manage their activities/ brand as a group. Also, Yang Hyun Suk was involved in that case with Han Seo hee till 2023, might be related to that.

TOP was my bias and I thought they enlisted in 2016 Also after the untimely passing of his friends Jonghyun, Sulli then Goo Hara TOP went live to say he will never perform in SK. We know that TOP almost killed himself because of the scandals while under his enlistment. He couldn't handle all the hate with the knets. In all honesty, none of them owe anyone anything. They are human beings like we all are and we all go through life trying different things. Relationships are like coats. Some you will always keep. Some will wear out from overwear, some will go out of fashion, some won't fit anymore and others just don't make you feel good about yourself. OMG! I had the same thought but kinda hesitant to comment given the history of both fandoms. When T.O.P. was at the hospital, it's one of the most stressful moment for me as a K-Pop fan. Like I keep checking for updates even at work. I was so worried and scared for him then. I know he's a very sensitive and complicated person, and bound to be misunderstood by many. He's the type who never hold back with his thoughts and craft, but I felt like being an idol really suppressed him. Looking back, and given his history with depression, I was not surpised he turned to marijuana, since it's anti-depressant. Not the healthiest option, I know, and I"m not excusing his behavior, but I do understand where he's coming from. Whether he decide to reconcile with BIGBANG in the future, I just want him to find peace healing and happiness. I'm rooting for Yoongi also, though this seems to be a deja vu. I'm quite scared for him, and I hope he has enough support system around him. ❤

I can only imagine how TOP feels. He was the oldest Hyeong, and with that lies a huge responsibility. As much as they all tried to warn Seungri I am sure TOP feels the most responsible in some way for his downfall. Things may have been said behind the scenes and feelings got hurt. Who knows what happened. It makes me happy to see TOP doing what is right for him after all the years he dedicated to the group, YG, and his fans. Are we disappointed BigBang won't be performing any time soon, sure. However, he is allowed to have a life beyond K-pop. After all these years I didn't like seeing GDragon just eliminate him. GD probably felt the worst about Seungri. He really tried the most with that guy. Diplomacy, giving him the best parts in the MADE album, screaming at him for that birthday party they weren't invited to (good for them for not being there). TOP at some point either was glaring at Seungri or throwing shade. As a fan, GD and TOP Imo, are the most affected by the hate and might have fought. It's a shame for the fans but maybe it's better for them.

@@souljourney60 Seungri destroyed them as a group. They were always strong enough soloists and GD, TOP and Daesung def didn't just get rich thanks to music but also with investing. So they're "fine" but can't deny it's a huge burden to get over and besides Taeyang and Daesung, it doesn't look like they actually want careers anymore. It feels like they're just keeping busy. Taeyang is trying to rebuild their reputation but it's barely working. Still Life was a goodbye song. To me and many it was perfect. No chorus, very empty, comes full circle and not Kpop. It shows the lost potential and sounds almost hollow, as intended. It's not meant really to console but just to give closure. I don't think they wanted to come back after coachella was cancelled and TOP decided not to renew. Very sad but at least they closed the chapter on their own terms. I rewatched the 2005 docu a few weeks ago and Seungri will remain YG's worst choice. And about GD and TOP, well, good luck to them. I support both regardless. TOP really deserves a lot of love and GD had it quite hard too.

I have cut off friends and a whole spcial scene because of some really messed up ppl within that scene. It wasnt because I dislike everyone in the scene but I have trauma and reminders mess with my head. I think that is why TOP cut so much of Big Bang and anything related out of his social media. I remember when I was one of the only people that was defending GD when the media and practically everyone had already convicted him and was bashing him and I’m not even a VIP..I’m a ONCE. I read so many ignorant comments directed at him. It’s sickening how quickly people will jump on and off different bandwagons. From everything that I’ve witnessed it’s always Knets. I remember commenting that GD didn’t need to smoke bcuz he had / has a brilliant and creative mind and knew he wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that. BIGBANG to this day is still glorified and respected. Once as five, then four, and now three. Their music will forever be remembered and hold a particular meaning and memory to all who grew up with it, fell in love with it, and became inspired by it. We're all individuals living this one life we have; all we can do and should do is hope we make the best of each day and survive the next one. We love, we let go, and we love again. I am grateful for BIGBANG and I want nothing more for each member to continue doing what they love and be able to live the life they want (publicly or privately). **Although as a VIP, I secretly want a CB, however far into the future with all respective members**
I feel like that people need to go easy on him. I feel like that TOPs response is somewhat giving feelings of how a triggered person from trauma may respond. And based on the response from GD it doesn’t look like he has given up on rekindling the friendship with TOP either. We do not know who is in the wrong here or what really happened. And yes as fans it’s sad and heartbreaking to see our favourite group having a fall out especially after so many hardships and years of being together, but we need to not speculate and let them be as well. As of atleast June T.O.P and GD do not seem to have each other blocked- because T.O.Ps likes on GDs posts are visible currently. Now apparently this in itself isnt a sign of blocking according to instagram. Because if you block someone or are blocked, their likes don't get restored when you unblock them. Idk if its a verified feature or restrict feature or something
I think the new BBC film about BS scandal can be a reason too. It revoked an international wave of hate again. T.O.P even changed his name in Instagram not to be visible for public. I feel sorry for him and all the idols who's life was smashed by "fans" and haters. It's horrible. I think that international fan community must do something about it. ex-VIP here. i have to say they’re not perfect and i’m disappointed with them. however i do know throughout their careers they’ve had it really hard. lets not forget they’re from Gen 2 of K-Pop. this industry was never easy but the first few generations had it extra hard and things were way more fucked up back then. i don’t stan them anymore but i wish for all five of them the best and that they heal. as much as i’ve went through countless of times being upset with them i don’t think they deserve being harassed. truthfully no one does. i hope people would leave them alone, bullying and sending hate is never the way to solve things. i’m a little scared for TOP and GD as they’ve struggled throughout their career. i genuinely pray for their mental health and hope that their depression is cured. coming from someone who’s depressed myself it’s a dark place to be in. imagine having that as a public figure in the South Korean entertainment industry…Korean celebrities are a lot stronger than we give then credits for.

Honestly hearing what seungri did is pretty horrible. Guy had so much money and could have done great things with it. It's scary to hear that was going on while the group was still together. To think top or gd were involved. I would certainty hope not. As of September 6th 2024 gd changed his profile picture to a new picture of himself and he and the other 2 members all just got on stage and preformed. Maybe new music is coming our way again ❤🎉

I was reluctant to watch this video because honestly the whole situation and all of the hardships BB has gone through really make me sad. It’s like these guys have spent their whole lives fighting and fighting to be able to do what they love, make music. How tiring! How frustrating! Considering all the accomplishments they were able to make, can you imagine how much more they could have done if unnecessary controversies and drama and even their military duties, and then the pandemic weren’t always getting in the way? Other groups wouldn’t have made it but somehow BB kept rising like a phoenix. There’s a little part of me that will keep hoping for a CB someday, and of course I pray that the four members can all feel proud of and at peace with one another. I like the quote you included about GD accepting the ups and downs of life. TOP has really had it rough and even though his behavior hurt some fans I am glad to see that many people (like most of the ones here in these comments) recognize that he needs some space and can be respectful of that.

Then they got pissed, when he wouldn't allow them to continue. He has every right to block anyone who he feels is posting or tagging him in things he clearly doesn't want to be associated with. We have no clue what happen between G dragon and T.o.p, even if T.o.p said that's it, I'm done with Big Bang, that is his right, its his life.
All I know is VIPs has always stands with the menbers (TOP, GD, Taeyang and Daesung) doing their hardship so I could understand the fans and the way they felt because their was no official statement of TOP leaving the group, I mean it the least he could've done for VIPs who had stood by him, defending him and sending him love doing his scandals 4:05 so I could understand them because he left without goodbye. I did exactly the same as T.O.P when I got married. I erase every trace of my past relationship. It doesn't mean that I can't move on or that I hate my exes, no, I am doing it for myself. Well Seungri happened. YG happened. YG really handled it the worst way possible. He stuck around long enough to crop that pic and write "I love my band. I love my fans". He started distancing himself from YG as soon as his contract was done. Since GD was the last one to leave YG and it was rumored, Yang hyun suk, was the one who tried to keep him around the most, then TOP MIGHT have had a disagreement with GD concerning how YG wanted to manage their activities/ brand as a group. Also, Yang Hyun Suk was involved in that case with Han Seo hee till 2023, might be related to that.

In all honesty, none of them owe anyone anything. They are human beings like we all are and we all go through life trying different things. Relationships are like coats. Some you will always keep. Some will wear out from overwear, some will go out of fashion, some won't fit anymore and others just don't make you feel good about yourself. I don't think BIGBANG themselves truly know their value & how impactful they are as a group. Been watching Daesung's reality shows these days & you can just see how in awe & honored his guests are to even be in his presence. OMG! I had the same thought but kinda hesitant to comment given the history of both fandoms.
When T.O.P. was at the hospital, it's one of the most stressful moment for me as a K-Pop fan. Like I keep checking for updates even at work. I was so worried and scared for him then. I know he's a very sensitive and complicated person, and bound to be misunderstood by many. He's the type who never hold back with his thoughts and craft, but I felt like being an idol really suppressed him. Looking back, and given his history with depression, I was not surpised he turned to marijuana, since it's anti-depressant. Not the healthiest option, I know, and I"m not excusing his behavior, but I do understand where he's coming from. Whether he decide to reconcile with BIGBANG in the future, I just want him to find peace healing and happiness.
I'm rooting for Yoongi also, though this seems to be a deja vu. I'm quite scared for him, and I hope he has enough support system around him. ❤

I can only imagine how TOP feels. He was the oldest Hyeong, and with that lies a huge responsibility. As much as they all tried to warn Seungri I am sure TOP feels the most responsible in some way for his downfall. Things may have been said behind the scenes and feelings got hurt. Who knows what happened. It makes me happy to see TOP doing what is right for him after all the years he dedicated to the group, YG, and his fans. Are we disappointed BigBang won't be performing any time soon, sure. However, he is allowed to have a life beyond K-pop. After all these years I didn't like seeing GDragon just eliminate him. GD probably felt the worst about Seungri. He really tried the most with that guy. Diplomacy, giving him the best parts in the MADE album, screaming at him for that birthday party they weren't invited to (good for them for not being there). TOP at some point either was glaring at Seungri or throwing shade. As a fan, GD and TOP Imo, are the most affected by the hate and might have fought. It's a shame for the fans but maybe it's better for them.

So they're "fine" but can't deny it's a huge burden to get over and besides Taeyang and Daesung, it doesn't look like they actually want careers anymore. It feels like they're just keeping busy. Taeyang is trying to rebuild their reputation but it's barely working. Still Life was a goodbye song. To me and many it was perfect. No chorus, very empty, comes full circle and not Kpop. It shows the lost potential and sounds almost hollow, as intended. It's not meant really to console but just to give closure. I don't think they wanted to come back after coachella was cancelled and TOP decided not to renew. Very sad but at least they closed the chapter on their own terms. I rewatched the 2005 docu a few weeks ago and Seungri will remain YG's worst choice. And about GD and TOP, well, good luck to them. I support both regardless. TOP really deserves a lot of love and GD had it quite hard too.

I have cut off friends and a whole spcial scene because of some really messed up ppl within that scene. I remember when I was one of the only people that was defending GD when the media and practically everyone had already convicted him and was bashing him and I’m not even a VIP..I’m a ONCE. I read so many ignorant comments directed at him. It’s sickening how quickly people will jump on and off different bandwagons. From everything that I’ve witnessed it’s always Knets. I remember commenting that GD didn’t need to smoke bcuz he had / has a brilliant and creative mind and knew he wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that. I feel like that people need to go easy on him. I feel like that TOPs response is somewhat giving feelings of how a triggered person from trauma may respond. And based on the response from GD it doesn’t look like he has given up on rekindling the friendship with TOP either. We do not know who is in the wrong here or what really happened. And yes as fans it’s sad and heartbreaking to see our favourite group having a fall out especially after so many hardships and years of being together, but we need to not speculate and let them be as well. I just hope like GD that there’s a possibility for them to be 4 again one day. And honestly as a VIP I don’t think that I would want to ever see the group accepting Seungri again.
Top tried to take himself out due to harsh judgements of others. It got under his skin unfortunately. I don't blame him for saying f the fans and everybody else. He literally chose to put his mental health and himself 1st as he should. Some fans really need to touch grass, self reflect and seek therapy.
Okay chronically online fan here to add some information which maybe helpful for context. As of atleast June T.O.P and GD do not seem to have each other blocked- because T.O.Ps likes on GDs posts are visible currently.
Now apparently this in itself isnt a sign of blocking according to instagram.
Because if you block someone or are blocked, their likes don't get restored when you unblock them.

I think the new BBC film about BS scandal can be a reason too. It revoked an international wave of hate again. T.O.P even changed his name in Instagram not to be visible for public. I feel sorry for him and all the idols who's life was smashed by "fans" and haters. It's horrible.
I think that international fan community must do something about it. So many talented people just suffer and loose their health, life for someone's hate. Korean entertainment industry isn't safe enough, nobody can build a beautiful culture on blood and suffering.
Every people makes mistakes but it is better to grant them wish to heal and opportunity to mend their heartache. ex-VIP here. i have to say they’re not perfect and i’m disappointed with them. however i do know throughout their careers they’ve had it really hard. lets not forget they’re from Gen 2 of K-Pop. this industry was never easy but the first few generations had it extra hard and things were way more fucked up back then. i don’t stan them anymore but i wish for all five of them the best and that they heal. as much as i’ve went through countless of times being upset with them i don’t think they deserve being harassed. truthfully no one does. i hope people would leave them alone, bullying and sending hate is never the way to solve things. i’m a little scared for TOP and GD as they’ve struggled throughout their career. i genuinely pray for their mental health and hope that their depression is cured. coming from someone who’s depressed myself it’s a dark place to be in. imagine having that as a public figure in the South Korean entertainment industry…Korean celebrities are a lot stronger than we give then credits for.
honestly, so many things could have happened. we all know top is very volatile and sensitive plus he’s been through a lot. maybe they did have some beef, i dunno. he needs some time away from them to heal and grow, and we should accept that. i hope one fine day he finds it in himself to accept the members again though, it’s a shame to throw away such long and solid friendships

Big Bang was, is, and will be my favorite band. Although it breaks my heart not to have the chance to seeing them singing as a group again or listening to their disruptive and amazing music, I want each member to be happy and mentally and physically healthy. I was reluctant to watch this video because honestly the whole situation and all of the hardships BB has gone through really make me sad. It’s like these guys have spent their whole lives fighting and fighting to be able to do what they love, make music. How tiring! How frustrating! Considering all the accomplishments they were able to make, can you imagine how much more they could have done if unnecessary controversies and drama and even their military duties, and then the pandemic weren’t always getting in the way? Other groups wouldn’t have made it but somehow BB kept rising like a phoenix. There’s a little part of me that will keep hoping for a CB someday, and of course I pray that the four members can all feel proud of and at peace with one another. I like the quote you included about GD accepting the ups and downs of life. TOP has really had it rough and even though his behavior hurt some fans I am glad to see that many people (like most of the ones here in these comments) recognize that he needs some space and can be respectful of that.
They basically wanted to rub in his face that the other members were celebrating their 18 anniversary with out him. Those weren't his personal fans, but fans of Big Bang. Then they got pissed, when he wouldn't allow them to continue. He has every right to block anyone who he feels is posting or tagging him in things he clearly doesn't want to be associated with. Imo BigBang is the greatest kpop group ever. I really respected Seungri and T.O.P before their actions, even i can't justify them. Still can't understand some fans supporting person like Seungri till date. T.O.P situation is different though but he shouldn't have done all that. He's an amazing artist by himself but the chances were given to him just because he was a BigBang member, he should respect the group's name

I did exactly the same as T.O.P when I got married. I erase every trace of my past relationship. It doesn't mean that I can't move on or that I hate my exes, no, I am doing it for myself. TOP had darker days. I remember I cried when he brought out of the hospital on a wheelchair. The great TOP, was so vulnerable and humiliated. I said, TOP, dont ever show up in front of KNETZ again, just be happy and live your life fully, I am happy for you
