I remember throwing some baits into one of those exact same traps and tossing it into a deep part of a creek. One hour later that thing was completely full to the brim with Creek minnows, small fish and large crayfish eating them. I had plenty of bait to go Overkill catfishing. I caught 20-40 catfish that night. Seems like they love creek Fish. The crawdads got snagged almost immediately. Probably didn't have time to hit the bottom of the lake. Those are great traps in my opinion.
Feed him a leech.. I use to feed my rock bass, Jack Dempsey cichlid, and a 14 inch channel catfish that were all in a 200 gallon tank I had leeches.. they loved them.. especially when the leeches were live!!! Don’t have that tank anymore we had to get rid of it for financial reasons years ago when the recession hit.. god I miss that setup!! It was so nice
My dad has a perch in his tank. And I have a pumpkin seed fish. We keep them for a few years and then release them where we caught them and start over again
Maybe in some areas, i cant imagine thats the case across the entire nation. Plus, the survival rate of a bass in captivity is significantly higher than a fully wild one especially when theyre fry
if your state or region does not allow you to keep bass below 16 inches in length, then technically, you could not keep a baby bass for your fish tank. But this is certainly possible by legal means
