Been playing off and on since 2020 and I've put over 1,200 hours in this game, most of which has been in the family trials mode, I love the trials because it's more of a pure roguelike with random maps and no permanent upgrades, all progression in the trials is temporary and run based and everything is completely procedurally generated from the maps to the upgrades and drops to the enemies and bosses so everytime you play it's a completely different experience, not to mention there's an 8th character that can only be played in the trials that's a paid dlc, and the build diversity and variety is just excellent, without a doubt one of the best indie roguelite/roguelike I've ever played, it's right up there with games like hades and dead cells imo
Not my favorite but growing on me. If you havent tried dreamscaper I recommonend it... took me a few runs to be interested but really really opens up into gamebreaking potential in tons of variety. It also feels a lot more difficult.
yeah i’m absolutely loving this game right now, even convinced a family member to play with me. it’s so strange though, maybe i’m just not used to smaller game community’s because their is nothing about this game pretty much anywhere besides youtube. i knwo its a small game and over 3 years old but it’s such a fun game. i haven’t even touched family trials much cus i just got it recently but that seems like fun time too.
This is why I never buy or play a game based on how big the so called "community" is or how popular it is, too many ppl only play games that are popular and then go cry on the internet that gaming is dead when they only play 10% of games or only play AAA games or only play shooters, yes your little corner of gaming might be struggling but gaming as a whole is bigger and better than its ever been, don't be a bandwagoner and just play what you like, I'd rather play games by myself that I enjoy than play games with friends that I'm only playing because it's popular
Been playing for 3 years and I've never experienced a single bug, glitch, freeze or crash but I am on the ps4 version on my ps5 so that might have something to do with it
